AWESOME VIDEO!! I paid a repairman to tell me that our six year old Samsung dryer was not fixable!! Told me that the control panel was bad and the part was no longer available. Gave me a list of places to purchase a new dryer...now I think he may be getting a kick back!! After researching online I came across your video. I told my husband I was taking the dryer apart to see if this was the problem...what did I have to lose...supposedly the dryer was useless. Well sure enough...I discover a broken pulley wheel!! My husband picked up the part for me and I replaced it and THE DRYER WORKS!!! Thank you so much...you saved us from buying a new dryer!! Great video...great instructions!
Thank you sooooo much for your video!! I was able to repair my dryer all by myself!! As a single mother of two little girls washing clothes is daily and the part only cost me $12 and saved me a huge labor bill I’m sure. So thank you again!!!
Thank you so much Eddie!!!!! This was my first time even attempting to fix a dryer and your video helped me save a lot of money. We have 4 adults and 3 kids at home that can finally do their laundry!!! I appreciate your effort, keep up the good work, thanks once again. P.s: I ended up getting a nice cut on my arm lol the metal is sharp ha ha.
Thanks for the video Eddie. Very helpful. I think they made this drier to be fixed once by a pro then thrown away. Not a user friendly drier. I wish we could access everything easier; like from the back. All said I got the job done with your help. My problem was a squeaking noise under load and found one of the rollers was worn out. Thanks again.
Great video, this is the 3rd time I've replaced this belt in 3 years 🤦🏼♀️. You would think I'd be professional by now. And Eddie, Great video but I'm concerned for your health it sounds like you have pretty bad asthma, maybe check with your doctor. You're a good guy and I'm just trying to watch out for you, not be offensive. Great video!
check the idler pulley and the alignment between the motor and idler with the belt in place you may have to slightly bend the idler bracket to center the belt on the idler pully
This video was very informative. All of your detail shots of the screws were perfect. I opened up the dryer and fixed the problem per your instructions. Saved my girlfriend $100 and now I get well-deserved smoochin's ;)
I have a 2016 Samsung dryer. I was able to pull the back cover off where the vent hose hooks up, 2 screws and it opened up. the pulley was right there inside the opening. the new pulley came with the bracket it was one peace. It cost less then $20. I had to remove one screw and it came out. the new one came with a new screw.
Mine had the exact same problem. GREAT VIDEO!... Except the top dash after pulling the top forward...... is LIFT UP, UP, AND FORWARD (TOWARDS YOU)...MOTION.
This video really helped. Can I access these parts from the rear of dryer? The Amazon link for the three parts is no good. Can you direct me to where I can buy it elsewhere? Thank you Eddie.
I have a different Samsung but the exact same problem. Before it started happening we noticed the dryer wouldn't stop running until we would either set it to time dry or just open the door. It was also getting really hot. Then one day the power is still to the dryer but all it does is click. The drum moves when I push it around. I suppose we will have to take it apart to check the belt but should we also get a new heating element?
Yep. My husband and I just repaired from the back. But you have to take the entire front off anyway in order to get the belt around the drum. Then take the back part off. Still pretty difficult to access either way.
Hello Eddie, thanks for this useful video. I have similar dryer that is not heating up. After reading other views sounds like the heat element is gone. Can you please guide me how to replace the heating element easily. thanks
Repaired my washer now my dang dyer gave out ughhhh this dang dryer has me looking like got attacked by cats 😂 but this was a great video now ima wait for the part and do it all again backwards 😅
YOU DONT HAVE TO TAKE ALL THAT APART TAKE THE TOP OFF AND THEN TAKE OFF THE VENT IN THE BACK WHERE THE DRYER HOSE HOOKS UP REMOVE 3 SCREWS AND PULL IT OUT YOU CAN PUT THE BELT ON FROM THERE
Replaced idler pulley and spring. Now if you stand on front of the dryer the drum is turning the wrong way (clockwise) runs for 10-15 seconds and shuts off ?
We already did that. Already replaced the motherboard too. Now I’m gonna unplug it n try to restart it .. expensive pieces of junk. I’ll never buy another one. I’m beyond aggravated with this dryer !! 🤬. But ty anyway
Great video, the idler pulleys are garbage on The high end Samsung’s it’s ridiculous, I’ve been through 2 pulleys in 2 yrs they are junk and made very cheap…it’s frustrating for how expensive the dryers are
I have this same exact dryer. My drum quit spinning, so I took the top panel off and the belt was still in good shape and tight around the drum, idler pulley still in good shape. Wasn’t sure how to check the control panel to see if that was my problem. Do you have any suggestions?
Hey Eddie couldn’t you take the back vent off and unscrew the four or five screws and look into it from the back side to see if the pulley is still on it? I removed my heating element and could see the pulley assembly. Just a question is all
Samsung knows that the pulley were poorly designed and melted after couple years of use. they should have recall this piece of garbage and pay for the service call.
fred chow It’s called planned obsolescence. They do it on purpose. We are all smart watching how to videos. Most other people aren’t as smart and just buy a new dryer.
Because there not using bearings on the pully.you can buy an upgraded pully for 20 bucks UPDATE... Now my drum roller froze up ,. So I called Samsung so they could fix this under warranty. They are refusing to fix it because I upgraded the idler pulley to a ball bearing pully.. So here I am spending another weekend working on my dryer. I looked everywhere for drum rollers with bearings for this and can find nothing so I ordered the metal on metal ones OEM ones that came on it. Every appliance in my house including the TV's are all Samsung.I never again will buy another one of there products. And if you do remember I warned you.
I just found out about them after I released this video. But both pulleys are being sold. So I left the video up. And I haven't been able to make an updated video to show it yet.
Hello, i have the same looking dryer and when i turn the drum, it will only turn one way. it is not turning freely. Since you have some experience, do you think it's the door switch? i here the humming sound but it just wont turn. please help. thank you. WayneChoi
why is my belt loose I dont understand it's around the pulley and on the nut thread and i still have too much belt play and i got the right belt what am i doing wrong ? please help
@@bobbiblueeyes2837 yeah no. Not how it works. Lol. Work smarter not harder. Less likely to damage the machine by doing it properly than taking the whole thing apart.
I change the whole kit pulley n belt n still doesn’t spin. It just make noise so I need to spin it my self so it can start. Does any one knows what can be ???
Same here. Mine works for a few minutes then shuts completely off. I replaced the heat element a few years ago and I notice it’s hot inside when spinning clothes. I’ve tapped the side of the control panel and I notice it works longer without stopping. How can I confirm if it’s the control panel?

I believe the repairs can be done from the rear of the dryer; to save time.
Kunle Ojedokun yes. Just did mine from behind but if changing belt as well you have go remove drum. I didn’t. When belt breaks I’ll throw out.

Replaced idler pulley and spring. Now if you stand on front of the dryer the drum is turning the wrong way (clockwise) runs for 10-15 seconds and shuts off ?
Thanks for the video! Good job!
Thank you for saving me big $$. All it ended up costing me was $38 and some blood.
Thank you sir. Very helpful to fix my dryer.

Helped out great thanks 🙏🏼

Yes, You can. But customers get mad when you fix it in three mins and still charge them a full hour rate.
Fair enough isn't it??
I guess the short answer would be that you can get to more from the front
Great video on this repair. Belt and pulley w/arm $19.47 on Amazon. Greatly appreciated Eddie!
Have the same dryer, piece of $hit if ya ask me...
Samsung knows that the pulley were poorly designed and melted after couple years of use. they should have recall this piece of garbage and pay for the service call.
same

Super helpful! Thank you!
ok , but what if when you check the belt and have no issue and is not out of its place and its still gives you that "tick" but wont run
probably a thermal fuse
Never Samsung. Once you bring home, that headach. Fridge - 3 years, stove- 4 years, dryer - 4 years all failed on me, Stay away!!!
The worst...both washer and dryer failed after 4 years
Because there not using bearings on the pully.you can buy an upgraded pully for 20 bucks

Word to the wise do not buy I repeat do not buy a Samsung appliance. It is a piece of junk. Believe me! I have first hand knowledge.
you can lift the drum out and not have to struggle so much in the small space
Idk why you took the entire front off... there are 3 screw max off the back to replace this part.
Kayle Bolin You my friend are the BEST!! Saved me all that crazy effort and time not dismantling the whole damn dryer!!
I think maybe to also make sure there wasnt a bunch of lint too? Seems like a bunch of work lol
@@bobbiblueeyes2837 yeah no. Not how it works. Lol. Work smarter not harder. Less likely to damage the machine by doing it properly than taking the whole thing apart.
