If I recall, you HAVE to build the Pulse Drive before you leave your starting planet. Not knowing it is called not reading what the game is telling you to do.
I’ll be honest, I had the same issue, I thought the pulse drive was holding B in space instead of in atmosphere. Found out this week and been playing since November
Few hundred hours here, and only just figured out you can make glass in your inventory rather then refining frost crystals in the refine….so much time wasted
Just messing around last week I learned about the freighter in low orbit and it gave me massive Helldivers vibes so I changed the name of the freighter to Super Destroyer and constantly keep it in low orbit above my main house.
Exosuit tech lists "sprint" as a thing. No where in the controls is anything about sprint. Oh, the control menu calls it "run." Which, you know you think were always doing anyway but pressing down the right stick is "run." Faster. As in "sprint."
I don't think waving is required, if you're on the ground there's a 5% chance a passing npc ship will stop to trade with you. (Source: 'Jason Plays' - he was doing a "Fugitive" start with no starter ship and was hoping for an npc to land so he could buy the ship.)
This is one of the most amazing games I've ever played. But life gets demanding. THANK YOU for reminding me to drop the unnecessary and play this awesome magnum opus from time to time. This game and Valheim are my "trapped on a desert island" games- modded, of course. I have about 125 mods for NMS, most being visual, and 350-ish for Valheim. 👍👍👍
@Arkham7621 True Black, changing Mining Beam, Photon Canon, Infra-Knife, etc. colors, stuff like that. I hate NexusMods, but head there, get to the NMS section, and type "color". You'd be surprised at how many things you can visually enhance. I have a mod that changes Biological Horror skin to look like something out of "Alien" (that mod is no longer available, though). That's just off the top of my head, there are dozens more I can't recall right now.
Love your vids man, wad one of the many who pre-orderd this beauty of a game many many moons ago. Quick Question, what's thay millennium falcon ship your flying? Looks insane?
Tbf, you do have to get an upgrade for that. Even then your freighter has to be in the same system. Only the general cargo is available prior to doing so.
Scan the ships at the space station or trading post, the scanner shows what class are, eventually a S class will land. I do it when im looking for exotics ships
any one figured out to to stop excavated ground growing back after you've built a base in said excavation , pathetic over site if you ask me.... more over f**kin' annoying
I've heard that uploading your base when it's all clear keeps it clear of any terrain regenerating. It works with mine, but I didn't excavate A LOT with my base, so I can't say exactly if it's true in all cases.
@@Keighry I've seen bases that were obviously clear when they were uploaded but sadly the ground has come back, annoying but you'd think it'd surely be fixable
Tainted metal also give nanites if you guys are not aware
Almost 300 hours in this new save after not playing for 4 years.
Just learned that you can open suspicious weapons and goods. 🤦🏻

The pulse drive is taught in the tutorial missions. So not knowing that would be not paying enough attention to the game. Nice tips 😊

Zooming is great for registering birds! I used to hate trying to click on birds.

How do you access the crafting tree?
I didn’t realize I could access all my storage containers from the freighter menu for a long time

Hahaa lot of these seem to revolve around whether you read the hotkey/button tips that show up on screen.
