Just put these on order for the Stratos I also ordered. I’m totally new to snowboarding but lived in Hawaii for a long time and surfed and skated pools for a decade. My skate style is flowing nice lines and hitting coping as often as possible and my surf style is similar. I’m hoping this setup will allow me to transition my style to the snow.
I purchased the lib tech glider as my daily driver. I like the idea of shock absorption but also need control at high-ish speeds on steeps for this softer board. Would you recommend Jones Orions or Union Legacy’s? Both absorb shock with responsiveness apparently
I think you might want to talk to Steph who reviews more women's specific boards and bindings. She can better help than I can. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/
I've got a size 13 boot in Burton Photons. You think the large binding size will be able to handle a size 13 and the toe strap lock in to the tip of the boot?
It should be close but ok because you have Burton Photons and they have a reduced footprint so they are more like 12.5-12 on the outside. They don't have any boot to binding adjustability though so If you are into centering your boot in the binding and on the board its hard to do. Jones isn't the best fit for boots on the upper or lower end of the recommended sizing.
Thanks for your take and agreed. I wish they worked more on adjustability and put a plastic plate over the sway bar. Then you would have some pretty unstoppable bindings.
I have a Jones Flagship with Union Falcor bindings. Should i change to these here or the Mercury ones? Is the Now System worth it? Thank you in advance.
Do you have a newer flagship with set back inserts for powder? If so you should get rid of those and get a full sized disc. If not it really depends on how stiff the sole of your boot is. Check 6:00
@@thegoodridesnow Thank you so much for the reply. I got Burton Ions. I just bought the Mercury. I hope i will get used to the Now System, i dont know how the minimal lateral play will affect my ollies and tweeks.
I wouldn't worry about that. That is not too much of a problem. The only thing is what I suggested you watch at 6:00 about how the Orion causes arch pain/pressure with softer sole boots like the Ions...

They could work if you don't have a soft sole boot. Hit me up here if you want real advice. I need to know a lot more about you to properly help. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/

@@thegoodridesnow thank you for the response and info! You guys are awesome!
I just got a Storm Wolf! Would these be some solid bindings for surfing all over the mountain? Cheers!
Yeah those could work. I like the Mercury and Apollo better if you want to go Jones. They are more responsive.
Huge fan! Did you and Angry even ride the same bindings? Strange how different the reviews are.
Thanks! Don't really know that guy so hard to say why our reviews are soo different.
Only thing holding me back on buying jones bindings is no adjustable heal, other bindings I’ve tried without adjustable heal cup aren’t very centered.

@@thegoodridesnow Thank you so much ! Are the Thirty Two Tm3 soft sole as well? Was thinking of getting them.
does the orion fit well with the jones aviator 2.0
Yes it will do pretty well if you have the right size Aviator. I like the 2024 Drive and Mercury better though.
would these be good on a bataleon blow snowboard?
Never rode the Blow so don't know.
@@thegoodridesnow no worries, it’s a 4 soft board but struggling to see what bindings are good for turns as well as park
