Hi... My htk alarm is saying line fault from my gsm... Yhe sim car is an eir mobile one so no ground line.... If i set the alarm not its thing off obviously due to this line fault.... Can i isolate the GSM until I get it fixed Thanks
gsm line fault means it is losing connection to the mobile networks due to poor signal. If you have the latest combined gsm-wifi card then you could turn off the gsm signal monitor altogether as you would still have your wifi connection and the gsm would only be a backup. If you have the older gsm-q or gsm-sc which are only working off a sim card you don't really want to turn off the monitor because then you would never know if the connection was entirely gone. In this case instead you can reduce the number of faults by extending the time it needs to drop before it will report the fault at the keypad. TO TURN OFF SIGNAL MONITOR OR EXTEND THE TIME BEFORE A FAULT IS REPORTED enter engineer mode by typing 4567+user code screen will say 'Service Menu' press next until 'Comms Menu' press yes press next until 'Communicators' press yes press next until 'Gsm/Gprs' press yes press next until 'Options' press yes press next until 'Signal Monitor' press yes screen will say'Monitor Signal yes' press no screen will say 'Monitor Signal no' If you wish to keep the signal monitor on but extend the time before it registers a fault then choose the 'fault delay' option and change the number of minutes to a longer period. press quit a few times until screen says 'exit engineer' press yes
@@aengusofarrell2437 Thanks Aengus for the info. I was secretly hoping i wouldn't have to use the engender code as we had a falling out with the installer us over our father's alarm which he wouldn't come back and fix but wouldn't give us the code to get into it for another installer to fix.... So it looks like we will have to chase him again to change the code so we can access the panel. Thanks again. Really appreciate your knowledge and time.
