Lately these farmers are used as a political tools now. We all love farmers but seriously, demand something which are reasonable.
You do know profit margins for farmers have decreased greatly and debts are leading and have lead in the past many farmers to suicide. Having a minimum price is nothing wrong and increasing subsidies wouldn't harm anyone. India needs to stop funding the horrible Taliban and Sri Lankan governments and focus on her own people, we have many who go hungry but have allotted billions to governments which say such horrid things about India. Modi is using religion as a key factor to win the election which is showing how radical India it self is becoming.

You do know the other farming states have protested before and those people live in horrid poverty, not everyone wants to face poverty, Bihar is also a farming state yet most of the people in that state have to venture elsewhere to make money. Farmers from Tamil Nadu have protested in Delhi even going to Bangla sahib gurudwara to have a meal, they came with human bones and didn't wear much clothing to highlight their dire state.

The bill would leave a farmer at the mercy of the buyer and adani was trying to profit from such a bill. You do know that not every reform is good, modi taking out the 500 and 1000 note rupee hurt our economy even more and lead fathers to commit suicide since their daughters were getting married but their money was no longer valid.

Modi govt should re-introduce farm reforms on state-by-state basis. Then more reformist states can become early adopters and reap the benefits. The more stubborn states can then hold back and go slow. Competition in the broader market will compel better practices by all.

If there is MRP for selling product then why MSP for farmers is difficult. Setting a MSP ensues the minimum earnings for a farmer.

The main MSP demand is for Rice & Wheat. State governments Should be given freedom to choose to select the crops they wish to grow. Also instead of centre purchasing & disturbing the produce, interstate procurement should be allowed.
Decentralisation is the need of the hour.
Central government should give greater freedom to the states in matters of agriculture produce.
Also the ration scheme should be decentralised. State governments should be responsible for procurement & distribution of rations.
The central government should fix standards & parameters for this and grade each state.
This system should be free unbiased & understandable by even a common man.

MSP is a just demand. They should be able to get a minimum price for their produce. Because of no guarantee most of the farmers in states other than Punjab and Haryana are poor. They don't get enough to pay back their loans. Farmers in all states need to get a fair price. Rural economy can only grow if this is guaranteed. Otherwise the plight of farmers will only worsen with increased cost of labour, seeds, pesticides, fertilizer and adverse climate changes.
It has become fashionable to strike to accept their reckless demands.... MSP should only be given to small farmers...!

If the demand of MSP appears as impossible to fulfill then why the government are revising pay scale from 7th to 8th to 9th for the government employees. If they need hikes in their salaries to counter the inflations, same is the case with farmers. Farmers also need protection of MSP.

It is simple demand and supply determines correct price why can’t they change crop to increase profits. Why can’t they increase productivity. More negotiations mean they loosing more control. Also regarding land acquisition costs will guarantee low development and high unemployment of the state.
