Not always true. Take rolex for example. You can switch out the dial with aftermarket ones and it will still retain value. Sometimes the bezel too, depending on the model. If i want to switch out my black dial for a sky blue or mother of pearl dial, i can, and it will still retain value. I can always put the factory dial back in at the end plus retain value but I will lose money for the labor for installation.

If u flip watches, you will most likely lose the trust of the authorized dealer and they will stop allocating you rare/highly sought after timepieces. Only way to get a rare timepiece is to build a relationship with your authorized dealer. Meaning you would have to be loyal to the brand or buy a lot of watches in general. Or you would have to buy your timepiece in the aftermarket way above retail price.
Call your local or any rolex AD, and ask to buy gmt master 2 stainless steel like the Pepsi. It's retail is around 9k but resales above 13k-18k depending on color and band. They will tell you they don't have any in stock and won't put u on the buy wait list.
The real big question is how do clients know if jewelers are using "lab grown diamonds, or natural diamonds" that they put on these watches🤔🤔. Bcz even GIA cant distinguish the difference. They are exactlyyy the same when tested by GIA but bigg difference in price lol
I actually seen a few aftermarket diamond rolex Daytona that I couldn't tell if it was factory set or not. I couldn't feel any grooves between the diamonds, it was all smooth on the bezel like factory and very high quality diamonds. I use to love the AP brand about 10-15 years ago, but now everyone has one or a replica. Still like the royal oak shape but everyone recognizes it and get unwanted attention. I love A. Lange & Sohne and JLC brands. Very nice classy watches and no one will come and bother. Only collectors/watch lovers will complement them. I bet you get a lot of people with ulterior motives come bother you when you wear your ap to a public place. You should check out a Jaeger-lecoultre, a nice rose gold master tourbillon for a very affordable price.

Just because something is aftermarket set, does not make it fake and is not the same thing as being fake. The same guy who's working for the brand could quit and then set your diamonds out of his own studio. People are people and good work is good work. You could have it factory set and get worse results than having someone better do it from their own studio.

I saw a watch in a jewelry store with the chandelier look and the watch is the same subdials and shape exactly like the AP except the AP was missing on the dial. SCARY!!!! Please know what you guys are buying when you purchase. Pay attention to what he's saying (after market dial??) Its not original. After market is not the original OEM.

If u flip watches, you will most likely lose the trust of the authorized dealer and they will stop allocating you rare/highly sought after timepieces. Only way to get a rare timepiece is to build a relationship with your authorized dealer. Meaning you would have to be loyal to the brand or buy a lot of watches in general. Or you would have to buy your timepiece in the aftermarket way above retail price.

Call your local or any rolex AD, and ask to buy gmt master 2 stainless steel like the Pepsi. It's retail is around 9k but resales above 13k-18k depending on color and band. They will tell you they don't have any in stock and won't put u on the buy wait list.
Test it out. They will try to get you to buy the rose gold model or a different watch that doesn't have a high resale value.

I actually seen a few aftermarket diamond rolex Daytona that I couldn't tell if it was factory set or not. I couldn't feel any grooves between the diamonds, it was all smooth on the bezel like factory and very high quality diamonds. I use to love the AP brand about 10-15 years ago, but now everyone has one or a replica. Still like the royal oak shape but everyone recognizes it and get unwanted attention. I love A. Lange & Sohne and JLC brands. Very nice classy watches and no one will come and bother. Only collectors/watch lovers will complement them. I bet you get a lot of people with ulterior motives come bother you when you wear your ap to a public place. You should check out a Jaeger-lecoultre, a nice rose gold master tourbillon for a very affordable price.

The person who decided to iced out this masterpiece will not only losing all the values on diamonds but also on the watch. That watch is not even worth 135k after all the diamonds.
