The funniest part about this video is that diamonds are actually common and are basically worthless.
They're super useful for drill bits and other machinery, but yeah, they're incredibly common. They're only expensive because De Beers makes an artificial scarcity to drive up prices.

@@anthonyb2081 Basically diamonds are one of the most common stones. The De Beers corporation knew this, so they withhold diamonds, pretend that they don't have as many as they do. That way they can hike up the prices by pretending they have a limited stock. The whole "diamonds are a girl's best friend" thing was them trying to get rid of their inventory by convincing men that diamonds were the rarest and only respectable option to buy for a lady.
Check these out, some of my favorite stones, much rarer than average diamonds, and look cooler imo. Jadeite, Alexandrite, Red Beryl, Padparadscha Sapphire, Demantoid Garnet, and Black Opal. The pink Padparadscha Sapphires are my favorite, right behind Black Opal.
