Jimmy is one of the best keyboardist in the history of Rock and Roll. We will all miss him. My prayer goes out to his family. and the members of 3 Dog Night.
First ime I saw these guys was New Years Eve in Phoenix, 1969, they opened for Blood,Sweat, and Tears, and Steppenwolf! Never forgot it (was 3 weeks b4 I went to Nam). Since that time many years ago, I have seen them NUMEROUS times and raised my grand daughter on their music when I lived in OKC. State Fair, Rose College, cox center!!! My grand daughter is now 21, and she can still sing EVERY 3DN song. Such fond memories I will keep forever!
I have attended 4 3DN concerts that we've been stood up by Chuck Negron's surprise absence. As much as I love Chuck's voice, the current line up with Mike Allsup and Jimmy Greenspoon are the best I've seen in my 15 concerts since the 70's. I saw Chuck's act in Vegas and Cory and Danny run away with the legacy hands down………….
I saw Three Dog Night in 1971 at the height of one of their tours with the original band. All three, Cory, Danny, and Chuck were Awesome, clowned around a bit on stage as themselves and "Who They Were"but, A Performance I will never forget. One of the best shows I saw in the 70's. A great job on this video with the current band. Sad, Chuck couldn't be accepted as a full paid partner,(And refused to Join back on those lower wage terms), with the Cory, Danny, and the new Group musicians.
Mike Allsup has REALLY matured as a guitarist! This is the best I've ever him play. Even though I miss Chuck and Floyd (and keep hoping for a reunion... even for just ONE tour), this is still an incredible performance from all the guys. Some things really do get better with age.
OMG Gotta just add to that that Cory seems quite spry for a 70 year old to me! I know 50 year olds who are not in near the shape he's in! New lyrics at the end couldn't help but notice! Anything you say, Cory, your wish is my command! ; D He always was my biggest crush, anyway. Still kind of seems like the two dog night has come into their own even with that hole where Chuck belongs...I mean, the other guy's good, but....
Can’t remember the year but early 70s I believe. The LA Forum was rocking and shaking to the 3 Dog Night band. Fabulous and fun and live on stage. So lucky to have experienced such great music
I saw them at the Forum in 1972, and it was my first concert. I still remember them and I was 15 at the time. Today is 8/2/24 and they are still one of the best bands
We went to see them. Sly and the family stone were supposed to see but he was to high on speed. So one dog night and Boston played as well. Best concert ever ❤
I saw Chuck Negron perform this song using two of his band members for singing...they kicked ass themsleves. I guess BOTH the Dog Night bands use this song as their showcase. This song can't be sung without someone singing those super high notes.
However it’s presented this is a great song and an all-time favorite. I prefer the original because the song is raw with rich and heavy vocals - its was a song of its time. This version is very slick, a made for TV experience, well orchestrated and produced, there’s no doubt about that, but its appeal is limited to me because it’s kind of like somebody saying - well this is how we do things these days because we are all grown up now and sophisticated not like you were when you were young.
RIP Joe Schermie. Paired with Floyd Sneed on drums, they were the driving force of Three Dog Night. I really miss the orignal line up, but these guys are awright too. Danny Hutton, Mike Allsup and Jimmy Greenspoon . . . carry on this living legacy!!!
Someone mentioned that the other guy was good...heh, Danny Hutton had a big hit record on his own in 1965 called Roses and Rainbows are you. He is an excellent singer. That was what made this group, three great singers who could sing lead. Sad one is missing. This has happened to a lot of the older groups. Some original member not wanting to participate or passed on.
Are we ever going to see the 3 dogs together? Is not the same without Chuck Negron...Don't get me wrong this 2 dogs sound great but I would love to see all 3 dogs at least for one last tour before they retire, they are not getting any younger... Diva I meant Danny let your ego aside and give the fans what they want.
I agree with everything you said, but I think Chuck's time is passed. Paul Kingery is more than able to fill the shoes of the *sarcasm*Legend*end sarcasm* Chuckles Negron. The band WAS and always will be Cory. Cory started it, brought Danny in then Chuck. Chuck could still be there with Cory and Danny but it's his fault he's not. There's nothing wrong with Kingery. Chuck's loss is Paul's gain. The other members of TDN who support Chuck, don't remember who they really have to thank. Cory.
If you don't like this version, go watch the Laura Nyro version and quit crying on a Three Dog Night upload. "Wannabe" rock stars? 13 gold albums; 21 top 40 hits (how many did Laura Nyro have?); Over 40 million records sold. Wannabe? Man, sounds like some issues here....
We don't know what all Chuck Negron did to these guys back in the day. Even if he's dried out, some relationships are too badly damaged to be salvaged. Besides, why split the paycheck three ways instead of two, so to speak?
This song cant' be 100% if not all three. I heard Negron sing it without the other two and something is missing. You cant remake this song. Mold was broken in the first takes when all three were young.
Why do great bands do this crap? Think they can just replace the front man and go on like their still the greatest band ever. Journey did it, Alice In Chains did it.. SMH
Actually, Danny Hutton came up with the idea contact Cory who brought in Chuck. I will admit always thought Danny had the best stage presence. Will agree Cory had best voice, but if you ever saw them live, Danny ruled the stage.
I. AM. BLOWN. AWAY. An amazing, soulful performance!
One of the most underrated groups. Great job guys!!
R.I.P Cory this was an excellent performance.
Jimmy is one of the best keyboardist in the history of Rock and Roll. We will all miss him. My prayer goes out to his family. and the members of 3 Dog Night.

OMG sounds like a STYX intro! Excellent performance! I just wish Chuck was there!!
and all of the band is so great, RIP Cory and Jimmy! you will be missed.

My friend all 3 were the best!
Just as Great as ever... Love this version~

I love the (Fore play) at the start of this song..It has you so pumped up
These guys are still incredible. What a treasure.
Off to see Chuck Negron today.... This is Brilliant..wished he could have been in this..You guys still Freaking have it..!!
This is my all-time fave TDN song. Really rocks it with the orchestra. And Cory, you nailed it here. Paul and Danny too. Awesome, guys!
This song is jammin'. Fabulous!
Mike Allsup has REALLY matured as a guitarist! This is the best I've ever him play.

They still sound great...wish I could find the long version on mp3...I love these guys.
Cory really got in to this one towards the end... love it!!!
Can’t remember the year but early 70s I believe. The LA Forum was rocking and shaking to the 3 Dog Night band. Fabulous and fun and live on stage. So lucky to have experienced such great music

They were amazing!! I saw them perform at San Diego counties fare, and, as expected, they were amazing
Wow besides me my parakeet loves this version !
WOW!!!! These guys will NEVER lose that "It" factor cuz they still got "IT!" Number one fan right here!
Wow. Cory just rocks!
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS GROUP
where is Chuck Negron?!!....the original voice......
this has always been my fave song of their's. love it. well done, cory!
We went to see them. Sly and the family stone were supposed to see but he was to high on speed. So one dog night and Boston played as well. Best concert ever ❤

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I like this version even better then the original.Very tight and top notch. These guys still have it!!!
I'm Marty's widow I loved Cory he could sing RIP
awesome...what a production this was. Happy
Birthday to both Cory and Jimmy this week!!!! They never lose it!!!

he is no chuck,he even screws up and no one probably notices, still a great song
+Larry Maasanen where did he mess up?
RIP Joe Schermie. Paired with Floyd Sneed on drums, they were the driving force of Three Dog Night. I really miss the orignal line up, but these guys are awright too. Danny Hutton, Mike Allsup and Jimmy Greenspoon . . . carry on this living legacy!!!
We need some talented young guys to pull this one off on America's Got Talent. The Boomers would give em all the votes....haha. No Calif Cougar here.
ANNETTE RIOS...AKA.....MISTREZZ, I CANT STOP WATCHING THIS VIDEO....W.O.W.
it's good, but it's not Three Dog Night without Chuck Negron, just my opinion.
Excellent! I love it.
I love this rendition!
Cory and Danny is awesome!!
I miss Chuck Negron
Just Not The Same Group Without Chuck Negron! Still Great!
I would hope to see all three of them bury the hatchet and do a tour.
Someone mentioned that the other guy was good...heh, Danny Hutton had a big hit record on his own in 1965 called Roses and Rainbows are you. He is an excellent singer. Awesome GREAT!
They played with America tonite in Sacramento Sunrise Shopping Mall. Only one orginal left in the band, but they rocked it still.
There are 4 original members still in the band!!!!!!!
This guys don't need Chuck Negron they are extraordinaries!!
That is GREAT!!!!!!! Period.
awesome - not so great with this quality here, but some of the best - strong - quality voices ever.
Sooo cool. What year was this video originally recorded?
Love It - still great!!!!
Awesome
2 dog night
not same without chuck
Without Chuck and Cory, it is the KARAOKE BAND.
very impressive WOW
Both Nyro and TDN were superlative. You're entitled to your views, too. :)
mike alsup still an underated guitar player.
Is that Leslie West on guitar?
Jimmy is gone, Cory is gone, Chuck never came back. Only Danny remains. No more Three Dog Night. Sad
Are we ever going to see the 3 dogs together? Is not the same without Chuck Negron...Don't get me wrong this 2 dogs sound great but I would love to see all 3 dogs at least for one last tour before they retire, they are not getting any younger...

Agreed!!!!

2 Doggie night
We need the chuck back. Please!
good live job
Asheville is waiting for the big show
Sorry. This is good, but not great. Missing Chuck, my fave 3DN member forever! Just doesn't sound the same w/o him.
We don't know what all Chuck Negron did to these guys back in the day. Even if he's dried out, some relationships are too badly damaged to be salvaged. Besides, why split the paycheck three ways instead of two, so to speak?
well they could wipe their asses cuz these guys are Rock Royalty...ha
This song cant' be 100% if not all three. I heard Negron sing it without the other two and something is missing. You cant remake this song. Mold was broken in the first takes when all three were young.
to those of us who know music this is the shit..
Eli is coming
Why do great bands do this crap? Think they can just replace the front man and go on like their still the greatest band ever. Journey did it, Alice In Chains did it.. SMH
Nice try but could've been great with Chuck's vocals.
Actually, Danny Hutton came up with the idea contact Cory who brought in Chuck. I will admit always thought Danny had the best stage presence. Will agree Cory had best voice, but if you ever saw them live, Danny ruled the stage.
