Friends is one of the best NBC shows out there, It's memorable because of two things, nearly every episode title start with The One and the theme song as well. Congrats on reaching 2,000 subs, and least I'm glad that the PAL DVD's preserved everything.
There was something so comfy and cozy about that little window of time in the early 2000's. It wasn't quite as warm and fuzzy like the 90's, but also wasn't sobering and saddening like the late 2000's. It was this beautiful little window of time where you had hope. And wanted to move to New York City into an apartment overlooking Central Park, and wanted to get your life started.
The PAL DVD releases have the original NBC broadcast versions which is why the original logos are left intact. The NTSC DVD box set releases have the international versions which is why the logos are not shown at all in those US releases. I read that the Complete Series Blu-Ray release retain the NBC broadcast versions.
If logos could talk... (Show's theme finishes playing during WBTV logo, expected to fade out) WBTV Logo: Wait, I need to play my theme! Show's editor: (grunts in anger) (WBTV theme plays) WBTV Logo: Thank you! This show is from us! (fades)
1:10 I KNEW there was at least one occurance of the logo fading out just for it to come back on with the fanfare. At least my claim on the TVTropes Nightmare Fuel/Vanity Plate page is now confirmed true.
Yeah, I knew I had seen it from somewhere, and given it's bound to cause a few jumps, it'd be worth taking note of it. Althought I think where I spotted it was on a later printing when Comedy Central started airing it and plastered the 94 logo with the 2004 one. Wasn't any fade out, there was like 2-3 seconds of silence between the last note of the show's theme, followed up by the WBTV 94 fanfare out of nowhere
Shade, the Raven Witch Oh. Well, I once found a Smallville combo that showed the wbtv logo playing it's theme TWICE. Scary, ain't it? It at least deserves a mention on the page. If you do mention it there, don't forget it was my idea :)
If there's a video of it I could probably link it to there and say that it was pointed out by you, on there it helps to actually have the examples on hand
This Is From The Pal DVD Releases Of Friends. Which Is The Only Known Home Media Release To Keep All Logos Intact. Any NTSC Pitched Logos Heard Could Indicate A Low Tone Version.
Huh. So the WB logo really does come back from the grave to play its jingle... Or cut off the Friends theme. You'd think at some point someone would say "maybe we should fix those glitches". But as long as it gets in there I guess...
On Comedy Central UK airings, they remove the Warner Bros ending sound and remove that scene. While on Channel 5 which have just started airing it, they keep it.
do you remember which exact dvd's these have come from? I've checked UK dvd's and they haven't had these logos and since PAL is such a widely used format i'm wondering if they come from another country's dvd set, or maybe a different UK dvd set
What I hated about Warner Bros. Television is that it kept giving me nightmares as a kid. How? By unnecessarily catching me off-guard with its loud 1994 fanfare when I'm not expecting it. Because of this, I've stopped liking Warner Bros. in favor of 20th Century Fox and Paramount.
With the NTSC DVD releases, the episodes would fade out just before the logos appear. Only a few episodes (usually the last episode on the discs) would have logos appear after the fade out. The original WB logos from the respective eras were usually replaced as well. With the earliest seasons, the 2000 WBTV logo would appear. The middle seasons would use the 2001 WBTV logo, and the last few seasons would have the 2003 WBTV logo.
Nenad Nikolic In case you didn't know, all Friends episodes were released in an uncut format on DVD in the US, and later worldwide. These transfers omitted the logos except for on season 7 and a few episodes from the rest of the series. The HD remasters aired on HDTV and released on Blu-ray Disc not only omit the additional footage from the DVD, but also plaster the WBTV logo, irrespective of what episode of what season, with the standard widescreen 2003 WBTV logo with the URL.
NBC used to be my favorite channel because of this sitcom and Will & Grace. However, I decided to switch to ABC in favor of Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. I think NBC, along with the CW, has made plenty of shows produced by Warner Bros. Television.

Same thing with Gumball, every episode titles start with “The”.
miracle world don’t do that
I disagree with you on that, it is *WORST* show out there.

1:12 WB: NO! PUT ME BACK ON,MY FANFARE HAS TO PLAY!
1:43 Nice normal pitched WB logo end card. Brings back memories. 1:17 75th anniversary version
The longer version can be heard at the beginning of "The Negotiator".

WBTV, after 1998 logo fades: *But I'm not done yet!*
Procedes to play the normal WBTV logo. 🤣
1:10 I KNEW there was at least one occurance of the logo fading out just for it to come back on with the fanfare. At least my claim on the TVTropes Nightmare Fuel/Vanity Plate page is now confirmed true.
Damn, that's wild that such weird editing made it on air like that.
Shade, the Raven Witch Wait, YOU wrote that!?
Yeah, I knew I had seen it from somewhere, and given it's bound to cause a few jumps, it'd be worth taking note of it.

Found it kinda weird that the logos appear twice. Anywho, congrats!!!
Didn't one of the episodes ACTUALLY BEGIN with a outside shot while the 1994 WBTV jingle plays? Anyone remember its name?
What season was it during?
Was not expecting that

From 2000 till 2004 (mid-season 6 to 10) these closings were nostalgic to me…
God I hated that Warner bro logo with the high tone
It’s only used in the UK and other areas with the PAL signal.
Do you live in U.K. Or USA
Same in Australia

There is no legitimate excuse for plastering.
Especially the 75 Years variant because they could use a downscaled version of the theatrical variant.
But when I watch that show on Comedy Central UK, it was all widescreen!
Yeah, with the newer Warner Logos
Miss the "last laughs" at each closing the most...😂

I don’t mind.
*20th Century Studios
Really? Are you sure?
The loud 1994 theme for WBTV isn’t that bad for me at all on terms of sound.
my mom loves this show
That's the distribution anthem of America.
Is Veronica's Closet a Russian show, or did it come from a Russian dub? Because the THT (TNT) on-screen bug is seen.
It is a American show.

Don’t they plastered the former logo from 1998-2021 on hbo max and 📺?
I can see a lot of plastering problems.

My classmate is obsessed with this show that he buys Friends Stickers and a book and its Legos. And has a poster.

The thing of WBTV logo being played with the show's closing theme and then with the normal fanfare it's such a disaster and wasted time.
