I've been a long time iPhone user (since 2007) no other phone but iPhones but this year when I bought the 12 and started using it I said to myself I want something different all the iPhones are the same. So I started watching reviews on the pixels and it sucked me in I couldn't find myself a pixel 4xl (that I wanted so bad) so I got the pixel 5 and I love it! I thought I was gonna return the pixel and go back to my blue but nope the iPhone is still in my desk drawer. I can say I have switched for now. Pixel is such an amazing phone. Oh and if anyone has a pixel 4xl they don't want please let me know!!!!
I’ve switched to a 12 pro max after being a android user for about 7/8 yrs...pixel really let me down this year after LOVING my 3xl...
@@etwoodson213 well you better be happy, I mean you spent twice as much for the Pro Max
Not sure if it is different with 12 but I doubt.
On iPhone 12 Pro Max you can turn of/on night mode manually
@@DepressedMusicEnjoyer isn't that on every phone? Or can iphones generally not turn off night mode?
This was the smartest sponsor spot ever. Basically forcing us to listen to it. Smart.
Ya that was genius
Love how you incorporated the audio test with your sponsor spot 😂
That was epic
Pixel 5 like dslr
Now this is the best way to incorporate an ad. I actually didn't have to skip pass the ad part. Nice. Good work
I returned my iPhone 12 after 2 weeks and got a Pixel 5 instead. Now I know that iOS is not for me.
Lol
Good one
@@rayandsharica362 you should've seen the face of disgust whenever I pulled out the 12 out of my pocket.
i've sold my iphone 11 pro and bought the pixel 4 lol. ios was boring af.lol
@@a.s.7996 To me is wasn't as boring because ot was something new, but the restrictions... Yikes!
I really like the evened out exposures in the Pixel shots, but please Google, go and do some sensor shopping, these 4 year old small sensors are showing their age.
snr(singal to noise ratio) didnt improve much in the last years and pixel binning has their downsides
they have reasons for it
@@agentcarti9447 I never said anything about more megapixels for pixel binning. I'm talking about actual bigger 12MP sensors.
@@agentcarti9447 Also, deep trench isolation has improved a lot over the years. Something Google's image stacking algorithm could really benefit from.
You sound like the rest of the tech community, there have been no pivotal changes in sensors they are all the same. There are tradeoffs anywhere you go
@@ssaini5028 Nice contradiction there, also you are wrong.
Totally love my Pixel 5. It is nothing short of awesome.
Does it have loose charging port.i have pixel 2 . And this port design is not good .
The battery is good?
@@AnaPaula-nl3hm Battery is totally awesome!
no headphone jack
Donno why but my Pixel 5 front camera never focuses peoples face. Do you have that issue?
Really love your work Sam. I'm honestly loving the fact you incorporated the sponsor in with the audio side of the comparison. Great work!
I liked some of the points in the video. Thank you for sharing 👍
Great video! And 'Let your ears to the talking' is the best line in any script ever!
5:23 I love this clip! Watching a child taking his time to climb those stairs is so cute and yet so inspirational at the same time
The smoothest and the best way to feature sponsor in a video I've ever seen in my life.
Stfu
Isn't it amazing that we are now talking about phones 'going all the way back to 1080p', and apparently it's just so sub-standard.
U gained a subscriber with that audio comparison and sponsor placement haha i love it
just one question , is it fair to compare video output of bionic A14 and snapdragon 765 ? Videography is raw cpu power and it shows ... the true software power is in photography and i dont like iphone's saturation of color
First time I didn't skipped the sponsor portion 😹
Back at it again with another banger. Loving the indepth details of these comparisons.
Absolutely love my iPhone 12. I had an iPhone 8 Plus and when I got it I didn’t think mobile photography was going to get much better. Boy was I wrong
The one sponsor ad during a video I actually watched
Hey Sam, great content as always. I think we all know you're a bit of a Pixel fan but with Apple and other companies really catching up this year, I'm interested to see what your daily driver is atm?
I'm currently rocking and loving my Pixel 4 but a bit disappointed with the battery life. The camera is just so good that I put up with it though!!
I use poco X2 in india and I use Google camera apk with it and the case is same , Stock Cam of poco crushes the highlights and shadows and Google camera brings it back
Another great video! 👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
1:44 look at that purple tree in the background.. it is completely blown away in iphone whereas in pixel it's still there
😑
Did the iPhone have HDR on or off for the video tests? Although i wouldn't suggest the Pixel 5 could match the iPhone even with HDR off.
I have the same bug with the different stabilization options not showing up. How did you fix it?
Great review thanks
Your aspect ratio is perfect 👌
In term of photos the pixel is superior but they don’t have any significant upgrade from last year pixel and most of pixel competitors is catching up. While in term of video the iphone is in their league of their own. Overall great video mate 🔥
i dont think the pixel was superior. I liked the contrast on the iphone better. The long exposure can be solved by using an external app.
@@jessiewald1 you can adjust the contrast and shadows while taking a picture with Pixel phones, I don't understand why his pictures look so washed out
Great video making experience...♥️♥️.keep it up
With an iPhone 12 Pro or Max I'd be using the ProRaw feature so I can get the better exposure of the Pixel photos as well as all the stuff from the iPhone. The only thing missing is astrophotography mode :)
In every test of the Pixel 5 they use the locked stabilization mode with 5x zoom. My Pixel 5 only lets me zoom in to 3x zoom. Does Google use different software versions in different Countries?
No. You need to change the video capture resolution and frame rate. Different modes allow for more or less zoom.
How you stabilize that walking shots?
Great video!
Great comparison thanks
Pixel is 👑 for taking photos, by far the best phone available 🙌
So Something I have found about IPhones is that the way the record or even take pictures are about as Real looking as they can get so no changes so what you see is what the person that took a picture or recording saw
I’m loving the night mode on the iPhone’s ultra wide lens. It’s not as sensitive as the primary lens but the results from a tripod are gorgeous. 👌
Awesome. There’s some amazing quality photos from phones now 👍
Iphones never had night mode before this? I'm so confused...
I think the 11 got the first proper night mode, the 12 brought it to the ultrawide lens.
I’m not entirely sure but I can manually enable night mode on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. All you have to do is click the flash icon in the camera app and it switches to night mode and Vice versa.
But can you turn it on during the day? It'll let you toggle it but I guess you'd have to experiment to see if anything happens when you wouldn't normally take a night mode shot
Great video man
From 1:30 to 2:00 ...did you swap the videos? because it looks a lot better on the pixel than the iphone but I feel like they were swapped.
I promise they're not swapped. The selfie cam on the Pixel does do better with dynamic range than the iPhone, but it's so soft in comparison (make sure you watch in 4K to hopefully see the difference).
@@sambeckman Okay. Maybe it depends on the particular take? Because I've been looking at so many videos of both cameras and it seems to me like iPhone is always a lot sharper. So I don't know what happened there.
Pixel with an old sensor is doing wonders. Pixel 6 with new sensor will crush everything it seems 🔥
Wow, that iPhone 12 looks great, and that's coming from someone who just bought another Pixel (4a 5g.) Nothing wrong liking a device, but admitting one is better in videography (I honestly think the 12 looks better there) and I REALLY hope Google starts updating those sensors soon. Do I have faith they will? Nope, but I do hope lol.
Is it only me that finds the iPhone camera looks bit unrealistic and over sharpened in images and videos? Still, I find its more pleasing to watch at videos from iPhone.
Yup you're not alone but it does give the images a little bit of a dramatic look though compared to the pixel's imo a more natural look.
@@danishfarid6570 ya exactly
pricewise I'd chosen Pixel 5 after being 10 years Apple fan boy. good device actually.
I am a real fan of the Google Pixel line of phones, but I feel Google have given up on them lately. The camera was the Pixel's deal-maker in the past, but other phones have caught up and the iPhone 12 beats the Pixel in most of your example comparisons. I think Google should offer two models, one which competes in the mid-tier category (like the Pixel 5) and another that competes in the Flagship top-tier category. The latter should have three cameras and the very latest in camera sensors. Google cannot rely solely on clever software when other manufacturers are so hot on their heels.
If the iPhone 12 camera beats the Pixel in the mid-tier category, imagine what the iPhone 12 Pro Max will do. C'mon Google - you have the budget to blow our minds with your tech know-how, please use it.
So why is your hat on backwards?
Muito bom os dois, mas o iPhone satura demais a pele e falta um pouco mais de contraste, fica parecendo uma cenoura
For you which is natural color pic pixel 5 or iphone 12?
Pixel 5
Can't wait for the pixel 6 pro camera test 😍
Do you use screen protector on your phones, Sam?
I do not.
@@sambeckman is there a reason for that?
@@fungorilla Essentially they don't look great on camera. If I wasn't constantly filming them, then I probably would use one.
The point is pixel 5 gives you the competitive camera performance at the cheap price in compare to iPhone 12!
That's exactly the point pixel 5 cheaper than ip 12 but as good as ip 12
Damn, I like this guy. New subscriber here. 🤓
Amazing what Google can do with 4 year old Hardware... Can't wait for the Pixel 6/6 Pro
1080 p is more than enough for me, even i shoot in 720 p. For video yeah iPhone the king, but for me i prefer google because i like photography
Very interesting. The Pixel 5 front camera beats that of the iPhone12!
I think it is better for pictures and iPhone for video... But wide-angle astrophotography is not possible on current patch, I notice it on my Pixel 5 and some people on google support forum too. Much worse is that Google write it to info about astrophotography too (source: support.google.com/googlecamera/answer/9708795?hl=en)... It really disapoints me...
Still own the Pixel 3(2018) and the photos still come out stunning! until the glass got smashed!
Same thing happened to me I moved up the 4 not much has changed but I’m still not moving to iPhone
Pixel 5 portrait shot in awesome 👌
What about call quality. Can someone respond
Don’t understand the issue with the field of view for the iPhone 12’s portrait mode. You can just stand closer to the subject or crop the image after. I’d argue that the wider field of view gives your more options.
Standing closer will warp the subject. And cropping is not convenient. That's why with dslr you use telephoto for the best portraits
@@Danielle-ek6si an iPhone isn’t comparable to a dlsr. Heck in low light it doesn’t even use the telephoto for portrait mode, it just crops anyway.
Both phones shoot at 12MP, with Pixel having the more "complex" image processing software. But yet, that 4 year old sensor is ageing and dying to a newer 12MP sensor on a phone that doesn't rely on Google's image algorithms.
Apple innovations now: “What other parts that can be removed?”
Using pixel 3axl for almost 2 year...fully satisfied by the purchase...
I feel like the Pixel 5 lens are not clean in this video. It look so blurry and oily.
You're so underrated.
Smartest Sponsor ever!!!!!
Both phones are best, it all comes down to personal preference
the difference between a Samsung and an iPhone in the photo department is quite stark and clear.. not as much between the iPhone and Pixel (almost, almost same in most situations) and for that price Pixel really comes out tops imho
This is a underrated chanel.

@@deimos36 c'mon pal it's not a big deal
GREENLAND map @7:55 on upper right corner
Lolololol
Pixel struggling a lot in low light video...
and they need to improve front camera video capability like adding 4k and 60fps to the front camera...
Pixel 5 is using a premium mid-range chipset, 4k 60 in the front is impossible
Who takes videos in low light unless your a stalker hiding in the bushes?
I don’t like iPhone warming photo every time I take photo I has to go to the app and adjust WB
Yup. Thats the one thing that i didnt like on the iphone images. I have used the iphone 11 pro before and apple still didmt fox the white balance issue.
damn the iPhone 12 mic sounds great
Wow that pixel 5 looks so much better surprisingly and I will never even use either phone lol
No it don’t lol
lol no
Fuck there's some sad ios virgins in here. Iphone hasn't been king for a while, each year it's a bit different on who takes the crown in certain scenarios. However I still use iphone for video because of the many apps and integrations that are already present, not because it spits out the maximum quality image. Take the L iphone fanboys, it's anyone's game in 2020
@@user-mz3ni8yu4v you cant even spell tf...
Sum it up as this: "Dude hates Pixel."
Even if some of the pictures looked better on Pixel. 🤣
Pixel photos sometimes look so good people ask me "what camera do use" thinking I'm a professional photographer or something. 💀😭🤣
He is soo biased, he should stop reviewing things.

Sam's becoming an apple fanboy, never thought I'd see the day! :P
So true af
Hey Sam! You can absolutely turn on night mode on the iPhone manually. Apart from that, this was once again a very brilliant comparison.
exactly what i was thinking...how come i have a different iphone 12
Why are iPhone 12 colors washed out? It’s not as vibrant. Is it because of the natural lighting it uses?
Pixel 5 + iPhone 8 or se best combination ❤️
the video during nordpass promotes at 2:22 we can see the iphone blown out the shirt.. while pixel HDR makes it far better job..
Hello . i need to get google pixel 5 band new phone. Please help me
Bhai, amazon me pixel 6, 29999 me available he
Are u that curly kid from insta?
I see jacaranda! Must be somewhere in AUS
I love it.
Pixel 5 is more stable than me😂😂
Rocking my pixel 3❤️
I have the pixel 3 as well but has a dead spot on the screen so I've been looking for a new phone
Still got mine as a work phone. I'm happy, video camera is not good tho compared to others
Me to bro 😅
Although I love Pixels, they seriously need to swap out their old sensors
why?
He does not know why, just rehashing what other reviewers say.
@@MikeBeltMikeBelt Maybe I am 😂
Seriously though, I would love to see what Google will be able to achieve with a physically larger sensor(I am not saying to go for higher MP sensors, they create more noise), like just think what they can do with the a sensor as large as the one on, say, the Note 20 Ultra. Damn.
Apple still shipping with 64 GB base and you still have to purchase iCloud... Why nobody talks about this.... Sheep
@@at_once 64GB is their best selling model, not everyone keeps their whole gaming, music and porn collection on their phones. Most just using chat, occasional calls, youtube and maps
Watching this on poco f1, still the best 😅
If google puts a sensor on. No 🧢 It's going to be the best on always
Good job
Good job google and apple P5 for me tho
Pixel needs a ultra wide and flagship processor and of course bigger battery
Do these features are available on the pixel 4a??
iPhone only have saturation that's it 😂
Although deep down we all know who's farther 😂😂 Google pixel❤️
Actually, you can turn night mode off on the iPhone 12
I think this is not a fair comparison
its look like pixel fight with their competitor without hand ,at the same time other competitor use the wepon in the arm
