After having forgotten about this puzzle for years, I thought I’d look up a solution. I notice some people are saying they need to brute force their Baroqs, and there were two points where I got “stuck” and spent a few minutes jiggling and cajoling, and then the pieces would align and slip past each other so smoothly I didn’t have time to see what I was doing. Thanks for the solution, I never would have gotten there on my own.
Thank you very much! Good question... Based on the latest leaflet that comes with each puzzle I think there's 61 but that doesn't count a lot of puzzles that I think they just don't make anymore. You probably know better than I do?
Real nice video. Where did you get the fancy box versions? I bought mine from Amazon US and they come with small green boxes. Not nearly as nice as the ones you have. I was able to solve this in my own, but like many Hanyama puzzles, did so without feeling it was done smoothly and/or on purpose. This video helps really smooth out the transitions and understanding. Thank you!
Thanks Andrew. I get most of my puzzles from Puzzle Master in Canada, there's a link in the description. My understanding of the different boxes is that it's something to do with regions. Yeah, I really like the Baroq's moves, very clever for seemingly simple pieces.
I have the opposite problem as many commenters... Mine will come apart around step two. Basically the "head" can slip out before getting to the pass move. Kinda lame because i can separate them in about 3 seconds...straight out of the box
I've been trying to follow your solution for a while, but a certain key points, the casting appears to be flawed . I have only been able to progress by actually brute-forcing the pieces at the key points. Quality-control has never been an issue with my other puzzles from Hanayama, but this one needed some stupidity and violence to complete...

Got a defect. Same as another commenter had said, couldn’t get it up to that tail piece without brute force. Wasted hours trying to solve it, and sadly ruined the experience of solving it on my own. I only checked the solution because I had the sense it was a defect. Avoid “Areyougame” brand Hanayamas. Just awful.

Your videos are so helpful! In this one, when reassembling, I’m getting stuck at 4:16. It won’t flip smoothly. I’ll keep patiently trying.
I’m really wondering if there’s a problem with newer releases of this puzzle. At 4:16, a drop of oil lets me flip the Baroq piece. Sigh.

That's the first I'm hearing about that sort of issue with this one. Is it possible it's a fake Hanayama?
