  • We are getting ready to move the sawmill and firewood processor into a more permanent place. We need to clear off a place in the woods. Hence the title of this video, "Felling Trees Clearing Land and Tractor Grapple Work". There is a little of all of it in the video!

    I enjoyed your looking at all the controls and your option really matters. Thank you. The tree came down really fast. I think it would have been safer to leave more hinge and drive wedges to bring it down. If it would have been leaning the other way more. You would have been in trouble. We all get better with our mistakes. Looking forward to your videos. Keep them coming.

    Hi Tony! Been a while since I’ve commented. I’ve been watching, rest assured 😊. I really like that grapple. I don’t have enough property to warrant the purchase. Once my mess is cleaned I wouldn’t have a use for it. You guys do a great job on your videos, be safe!

      I forgot to add. It is a balancing act figuring our what attachments are needed vs cost. I will say this, you will find all kind of new friends and long lost family with a purchase of a grapple.

    Fantastic setup. I eventually will purchase a set up similar to yours. The tractor with the grapple, phenomenal. I love the tractor mounted rack. Outstanding setup. I like your setup better than a wheeled skid steer, just for the visibility alone.

    All in a days work Tony. I'm sure what we don't see is all the time, work, and effort it takes to do these video's. You and Tanja do it well though brother. Those trees will make some dandy lumber. Looked to be good and straight logs, thats always a plus. Do you have many yellow poplar trees down your way? We have a good many on our 13 acres in West Virginia.

    • @TonysTractorAdventure

      I forgot to answer about the tree. We have a lot of Tulip Poplar in TN. It is our State tree. We also have another type of Poplar, but I am not sure on the brand. LOL. It is everywhere.

    Spent a few hours rototilling with my T264 today! Nice to see your video come up today it does so well out in the woods. I have been thinking of moving up to the T394 w/ rops do you think that would do okay in the woods? I just like the size of the T264 for the woods but want bigger for lift cap. Thanks for the video!

    It will take out bigger trees with grapple just attack them higher and push them over then expose root then push them out the ground! 6 to 8 inch trees easy! Got 250hrs on ours and its a power house! Tym574 cab

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  Рік тому +2

      It depends on the tree. Some trees have a steep taper (Flare) at the bottom. It is makes it harder to cut on the saw mill. The other reason, is I am saving my back.

      If you were me, you would have used the tractors and not wasted money on a dozer. I only had so many hours each day to work on it. Sometimes I had just a couple hours. It made no sense to me to have a dozer setting around. The rent is high.
