Love that you started doing youtube! Thank you for an informative video. Personally, I just don't care much about creasing - saves me a lot of time, and I just decided I was willing to trade off looking less polished for less time spent fussing. I change out of my clothes when I get home from work (a bit psychological too, my job can be mentally draining and it can be good to create that separation), and wear something a bit more loungie.. I would love a video on "elevated loungewear", I find it really difficult to find good pieces for this purpose. Thanks again, looking forward to your next video!

Thank you! I’m glad you’re enjoying my videos so far 😊 I think I’m just VERY funny about creases, more so than more people I’ve met, but I’ve been like it ever since I can remember. I definitely resonate with it being a psychological thing, when I worked in retail I had to change immediately to feel separation once I got home. Good idea on the video! I’ve noted it down 😊

I think this is cultural but in Ukraine EVERYBODY has house clothes and changes into them as soon as they get home. My mom always made us change because it damages clothes - they get rubbed against sofa, you cook, you eat, you can stain your shirt, you put your legs up, the knees on the pants get stretch out (as I am writing this I feel close to a panic attack ahaha)
So yeah, the point is that this is quite common in our culture and a person who lounges in their clothes or doesn't take their shoes at home is perceived to be messy)

Love this video...I'm such a clothing care geek. I put tissue in all my shoes ha! Please follow this up with a closet/storage tour.! I had large wooden hangers but now have a very small closet and they don''t fit. Great tips on the stain removal and not needing to fully wash everything. I'm also a fan of house clothes....mostly because I'm cleaning so much when I am home and can't move and bend in more structured outfits.

I’m also completely with you on the lounge wear! Someone once told me to always pull my trousers and jeans up from below the knee before sitting down, it helps to stop them getting misshaped in the knee area!

Oh my gosh, Brittany get out of my head! As you were talking I am nodding, seriously - I get every point you made. Do people actually lounge around their homes in proper clothing? I have never done this - home from work straight into the lounge wear. Great video - I would love to see a closet tour.

This was great! Excellent advice. I also have elevated lounge wear to sit around the house in. I also don't want to wrinkle my day clothes or get lint on them. I also wanted to point out that the laundress has a spray "freshener" for clothing that I love when I just want my shirts a fresh smell. And they also make one for wool cashmere sweaters.

Love the videos so far! Very easy to listen to you talk. As a fellow petite gal I’d absolutely LOVE a video on dressing for a shorter figure. As in relation to tailoring, if you had a new piece that you were thinking of getting altered, a before and after of what you changed about it and why it works better at particular cut-off length/points than others. I know another aspect of it is that it depends on your proportions and not just height (longer torso in proportion to legs etc) but I’d still be really interested to see a video on that topic.

This is a great video Brittany! So surprising & sad that this is lost knowledge. Very well done. Hot water sets many stains. Cool water washing has been done for centuries. Most homes don’t have hot enough water to disinfect them like people think they’re doing with warm or hot water. The dryer will set all stains & ruins fabric fibres & shape & seams. So true! Literally the cheapest garments can stay perfect for years with all these methods. I don’t recall you mentioning how you treat deodorant stains on white tops? Curious about your methods. A few other small questions...what are your wall colours in this lovely room? Is it a Venetian plaster finish on the bed wall? Also...Can you consider doing a wardrobe tour & home tour please? 👏😃😉

Thank you for this video! I have a question about how you keep your crisp white shirts so nice and white. Does the Laundress stain removal help with those too? It is an endless battle for me to keep the collars from not going yellow and I feel like I go through white shirts so quickly. I don't even wear much make-up, just tinted moisturiser, so it's really frustrating to the point that to stop myself from buying white shirts all the time I am considering just giving up on them. And white shirts are my staple item!

Try using Napisan. Put a few spoons of it with your laundry detergent use to remove yellow stains from white clothes. It’s the best thing that has worked for me. You can buy it in supermarkets and Wilko. It might be in the Baby section as Napisan was originally made to wash and brighten terry cloth nappies www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/273643086

this is the video i needed! thank you so much, I recently hung all of my t shirts, didn't realise it was bad to do that! i'll fold from now on. Also, I get loads of things tailored, i have a massive issue with long trousers (i'm a leg 26 which doesn't exist on the high street) and can't believe what a world of difference taking up trousers to top of the ankle! also, i recently bought a pair of trousers in the sale which were a size too big, so they took it in, it's perfect as i'm kind of an inbetween size too. I absolutely LOVE this video. I am the kind of girl who cares for her clothes and tries to have them as better possible. I have a question that maybe you know, is something that has driven me insane, and still does. The mini balls on knitwear are one of my worst ocd i think, but it really gives my anxiety to be around the house or whatever place, having the sweater or cardigan filled with mini balls. Is there any way you handle that in particular? I know there are some brands that have poor quality materials, but some other brands which are good also tend to have this kind of things. I'll love to hear what is your advice, and love everything that you do :) Keep going!
