    These videos are a life saver, I have one and since they're a forgotten Chinese pit bike, there's very little info on it so having these in depth rebuild videos will help me alot if I need repairs.

    I got mine for like $50 although im becoming an old man I still got really excited about it because im a country boy and never had one and always wanted a little dirtbike to take on some dirt trails and have fun without going too fast!
    It's perfect I have a few acres,it's small and it's perfect to have fun with.
    Mine is a basket case but I have mechanical exprience with cars,lawn equipment,and bicycles so it should be mildy challenging to work on.
    Also these bikes can sell for a pretty good amount and parts are pretty cheap.
    This is the perfect guide to reconditioning the Panterra dirt bike,very informative and easy to understand with no fancy words or music drowning out the voice.
    Thank you!

      Glad you found the series useful. they are fun bikes for sure and can haul an adult around with very little trouble.
      Thank you again for the comment

    we got one of these i found in pieces at a scrap yard. put it back together and rebuilt the top end. weve taught dozens of ppl to ride on this bike. we call it the banana bike. but this past week i bought a smaller bike with a 110cc engine. so i swapped engines. now our nanner bike rips ass at 110cc

      WOW, even with the 50cc engine it was fun, 110cc would be amazing. Thanks for the feedback.

    Dr50 was my first bike
    Still have it
    Bought it for a oner from some kid who knew nothing about bikes and though it was fucked
    He only rode it once
    I didnt inow much about bike at that point either
    But i inew how a fuel tap worked 😂
    Done me a right service i refuse to get rid if it and i have rode it for 5 years
    But it was a beast for the first 5 letting everyone else have a blast half the time and it was the return scout bike
    Take the big ines out and when they break take that one back to pick up the farm quad to do a recovery mission
    Iften tume towing 3 bikes back up the fields we weren't really supposed to go in but all the village knew us and lived watching us run around like nutters and its not like we went in fields with crops or detroyed land
    We just liked to exolore down all the public footpaths and bridleways
    Did a few dog finding missions for people too lol quad was banging for that
    But the dr was more of a village run about lol

    Well you just popped up here a little bit ago, and I couldn't help it while sitting here in the deer stand waiting for something to happen. I just had to watch the episode now! As usual did not disappoint! Thank you! Disclaimer: No deer were harmed in the watching of this video! Hehe

    This should be an interesting project. To me it has always been important to bring things back to working order for another person to use/enjoy. ( I was taught by older guys when we repaired old cars. Like you the skills learned have stayed with me.) This video series may provide the condidence for a young guy to have a go at fixing an old bike. Mal

      Thank you for sharing your experiences Mal, there is defiantly something rewarding about fixing something others would just throw away and learning how it works in the process.
      Thanks again.

    Hey! Couldn´t believe it when the picture of the Monkey came up... my first motorbike (moped) was the exact same one, a red "hardtail" with the 2,5 litre tank, a gift from myt parents too! And that´s how I strarted building mopeds (earlier it was bicycles and later cars and motorcycles)=). And now I have a DR650 =).
    About the spacer between the intake and the carb. Not sure because I couldn´t see everything but I´d be inclined to say it was the wrong way around, you wouldn´t have two o-rings facing eachother.. could be I´m wrong ofcourse. Cheers and thanks again for the video!

      @DinosTinkerShed  2 роки тому +1

      Sounds like we would get along well, as would our parents.... I to had a love of bicycles and cars (specifically jeeps, "Just Empty Every Pocket" LOL) and of course motorcycles, I have come to realize I just find anything mechanical interesting and can get lost in other peoples hobbies as well.
      Not sure about the O ring Ill have to take another look. thanks for the heads up and thanks again for the comment.

    Do Honda cr50 parts work for it ?

    • @DinosTinkerShed
      @DinosTinkerShed  Рік тому

      I believe the engine is from the zr50, I can't say for sure but it looks like a Honda to me so parts should work. The frame ect looks to me to be a Yamaha pw50..

    What oil did you used

    • @DinosTinkerShed
      @DinosTinkerShed  10 місяців тому

      It has been a while since I made the video, but I believe I used 10w30 or 10w40 Rottela from Shell. It's a diesel oil that has fewer additives and is motorcycle friendly. Thank you for the question.

    great video! i have one of these i've had since 2015 and just got it going today, i am curious though, where is a good place to get parts for these?

      Glad you liked the video
      I really did not need too many parts for my repairs however the parts I needed I got off amazon. The engine is basically a Honda 50 and parts for this are available. The rest of the bike is most likely generic parts but unfortunately this was the only one I've worked on so my knowledge is not to deep on the subject.

    Where can I find the fender set for mine?

    • @DinosTinkerShed
      @DinosTinkerShed  2 роки тому

      Search Amazon for PW80 fender kit. Although I have not used these my understanding is that the Yamaha PW80 plastic is fit the Baja 50. The only issue is that they only seem to come in blue.

      LOL, Unless you are in the Niagara region, I don't think I can help you. Usually there are people in your local area that can help you out if you are having a hard time repairing a bike on your own. I would look on Market place, Kijiji or Craig's List for small engine repairs.
