    Thank you for doing this! Usually, people aren't interested in Snow White's voices, let alone the oldest ones, and they tend to be compleatelly forgotten :(

      A version that I look for a lot is Czech from 1938, I think Elly Rixová had an incredible singing voice! It must have been an incredible dubbing, but I think if it was available today many peoples would despise...

    • @symphonyofsorcery7527
      @symphonyofsorcery7527 7 років тому +6

      Yeah, I think it's mostly due to the LQ of some versions and because the majority of people don't like old fashioned/operatic voices or don't even give them a chance...I personally try to judge the voices according to the time the dubs where made, I do like some versions less than others but i'm not the kind of person who puts a version in last place just for being operatic.

      @@symphonyofsorcery7527 Seems strange to keep redubbing it considering the movies never get rerecorded in English to match current sensibilites. Shouldn't it be off putting to have an obvious gap in sound quality between music and vocal tracks recorded decades after the fact? Snow White is very much a relic of it's time and I think the voices add to that time capsule feeling.

      WHAT? There's lost dubs that have been found? Old Snow White dubs are my personal favorite. It's always been my favorite Disney since I was little. I recently purchased the Spanish 1994 VHS with the '64 dub just because I wanted a new way to watch the film.

    Love all of those old dubs. So much history in each of them. The supposed France-made French dub of '38 is still a mystery.

      What is the difference between Austrian & German version?
      I thought that the dub with Herta was the official German version which was made in Austria because of the war.

    • @SnowWhiteBR
      @SnowWhiteBR  7 років тому

      In my opinion, the Austrian version never existed, as well as the French version made in France before the start of the Second War. Since the German version of 1938, Hortense Raky has a very strong Austrian accent as well as other characters. The difference between the two is the dialects, many words and terms are different in both countries, as well as the Portuguese of Portugal and the Brazilian and British and American English :)
      The German version of Hortense Raky was made in Amsterdam in 1938.

    I didn't even know that Austria dubbed Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in Austrian German back on 1938.
    Also, I can't imagine that Snow White's Dutch singing voice actress from 1938, Frieda van Hessen is the only one that is still alive.
    Also, how did you find the Brazilian Portuguese 1938 version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs even though the dubbing is lost?
    And it's a shame that the French 1938 version wasn't made in France, and both Dalva de Oliveira (Snow White's Brazilian Portuguese 1938 speaking voice actress) and Thelma Hubbard (Snow White's 1938 Latin American Spanish speaking voice actress) could both sing well. :(

    • @SnowWhiteBR
      @SnowWhiteBR  6 років тому

      Actually, I made a mistake!! There's no Austrian 1938 dub, since 'Snow White' was never shown in Germany until 1950 and in Austrian in 1948. When Austria was planning first shown 'Snow White' back in 1938, they thought that the dub was lost in the war, so an Austrian newspaper request Paula Wessely to dub the princess, but a 35mm copy from 1938 (never shown for the nazis) was found and then release in the theaters.
      Yes, Frieda still alive

      The voice actress of Snow white and the evil Queen both died in the war (Austrian German) :(
      Its in standard German though, I think some voice actors were German and they made it in Austria because American movies weren't allowed at the time in Germany or something like that

    Você acha que consegue encontrar a dublagem de 1938 brasileira de Branca de neve, ou a dublagem de 1940 brasileira de Pinóquio?

    • @SnowWhiteBR
      @SnowWhiteBR  6 років тому +1

      Patricia Regina Estou em busca da dublagem de Branca de Neve de 1938, já conversei com diversos colecionadores de filmes em 16/35mm mas até agora nada... espero achar logo, pois tenho muita curiosidade em ouvir essa dublagem :)

    • @SnowWhiteBR
      @SnowWhiteBR  6 років тому +2

      Patricia Regina Pinóquio acho um pouco difícil, já que a dublagem original foi exibida apenas duas vezes no cinema, em 1940 na exibição original, e o relançamento em 1955. Já Branca de Neve, foi exibida 5 vezes, em 1938, 1944, 1952, 1955 e no final dos anos 50 e início dos 60 em pequenas exibições limitadas :)

      Snow White
      É uma pena não ser ela :/..
      Talvez, sempre achei as cantoras da década de 30, 40 e 50 parecidas.
      Fiz as contas, e em 2037 o filme faz 100 anos! Quem sabe a Disney Brasil não libera essa dublagem, resmaterizada se possível e mais? Não é novidade a ninguém que a Disney Brasil possui essa dublagem trancada a 7 chaves e uma extra.
      Sim, vou adorar ver! Gosto muito dos seus vídeos e edições :)

      Snow White
      Analisando melhor agora, realmente não tem nada a ver com a Dalva, como (até onde eu sei) não há nenhum vídeo da Maria Clara a cantar ao vivo, nunca poderemos afirmar claramente que é ela, mas não é impossível. Só disse aquilo porque fiz uma comparação e não consegui perceber nenhuma diferença entre os "I'm Wishing" além do instrumental. De qualquer forma, a saga da Maria ainda não acabou.

    • @SnowWhiteBR
      @SnowWhiteBR  6 років тому +3

      Sim...
      Também acho, um exemplo é Bongo/Como é Bom se Divertir, onde no elenco temos Dalva de Oliveira e Dircinha Batista, até o momento só possuo a informação que Dircinha narrou Bongo, porém sua voz e da Dalva são semelhantes, então não sabemos qual das duas dublou a Harpa Falante e as canções do segmento de Bongo.
      Também espero fielmente nisso!! E que a remasterização seja boa, já que a Disney Italia trouxe para o recente lançamento de Peter Pan em Bluray a dublagem clássica de 1953, que foi redublada nos anos 70 e foi lançada até em DVD no início dos anos 2000. Se isso não ocorrer, teremos que fazer uma enorme busca atrás dessa dublagem, colecionadores de filmes 35mm, talvez trechos exibidos na TV nos anos 50...
      Maria Clara era uma cantora lírica soprano, um amigo me disse que avó assistiu á essa dublagem, e sua voz era bem doce :)
