- Hi all, today I want to talk about the movie Priscilla! It's finally been released in the UK and I was really curious to watch it since I've been an Elvis fan for a long time. It was a difficult watch, especially since I loved Baz Luhrmann's Elvis movie. But it was still an interesting one and dives into a darker side of Elvis. Let's discuss it! There are minor spoilers in the video!

The worst Copolla movie ever, Elvis as a monster, Priscilla as a victim. Absolutely Boring
Not only absolutely boring, but most importantly. absolutely false. I'm afraid both Priscilla and Sophia underestimated the loyalty and knowledge, that Elvis fans all around the world have for him and of him. Thats why the film was a.... Box Office Flop. Elvis fans everywhere boycotted this film because they knew it was full of lies. They were also sending a clear and unmistakable message to Priscilla ,.. that she is of no relevance.
In the book, Priscilla hugs Elvis for having the puppy at that moment but in the film she is left alone and portrayed like she had been ignored. SUCH A BAD FEMINIST MOVIE.
Lisa did not want this movie made I know she was only ,,14 but she should sense to realize she was married to the most wanted on earth He could have married anybody but he chose her and he stayed true to his word but when she left him for another man it hurt Elvis ego plus broke his heart but I believe Elvis loved her till his death She probably has a lot of regrets prayers for her loosing Lisa Marie she was also loved by fans just like her dad ❤
Not only Elvis' fans, anyone checking the real story knows how wrong Sofia Coppola is. How could anyone see Priscilla leaving her husband to live with her (married) lover (and relying on Elvis during her whole life to make money, including through this movie) as a woman becoming independant ?

The movie, "Priscilla", depicts her as being locked up at Graceland for their entire marriage, which is miss leading . It's documented that Elvis & Priscilla shared 2 homes together in Southern CA during their marriage as well.

Thank you so much for your lovely commentary and critique of this film. However, I won't pay to watch it. There are many Elvis fans that have been around a long time and know all too well that Priscilla Beaulieu has not told the truth about a great many things since Elvis's death in 1977. The real Priscilla is not the innocent little virginal girl that her films portray her as. All the films ever made have used her book "Elvis and Me" written in the 1980's, as their foundation for the story line. This film now called "Priscilla" actually goes beyond the book into a very dark place where Elvis is concerned, while during the whole time Cilla presents herself as the innocent victim at the hands of a groomer, predator, and a manipulative and narcissistic man who engaged basically in abuse and neglect of her.
I am so sorry but none of that is true. This film has presented a lot of half-truths, misrepresentations, exaggerations, and outright lies about Elvis Presley.
Priscilla's biggest lie of all was the way in which she has told us for decades now, how she got to meet Elvis. Priscilla was not approached by a complete stranger just out of the blue and asked if she liked Elvis and would she like to meet him. That is absolutely false, and I won't go into the truth here or I will be typing forever. I will just ask people to go and do their research on Priscilla Beaulieu. It will not take long for anyone interested to find out who Priscilla was, and still is, and the family she came from.
Anyway, once again I thank the narrator of this video, she did a great job and was so polite, regardless of the film's falsities. Her analysis of the film's cinematography was excellent.

@@MsScreenCritic This is so much bull. Elvis didn't tell Priscilla that she couldn't work because he wanted her to be home when he called. Right after she graduated high school( two months after she arrived) he bought her a car. She could go anywhere she wanted to. She said later when they were married she was taking dancing lessons (and f--ing the teacher) and modeling locally, and that she was gone so much that the baby preferred the sitter to her. How could she do all that if she had to be home in case Elvis called?
He also did not leave her alone in a big empty house. With her was Elvis' Aunt Delta, the cook, several maids, Elvis grandma, and Elvis asked the other wives to be friends to her. Of course, she turns even that kindness by Elvis into a negative by saying "my friends were chosen for me". There was nothing to keep her from finding other friends of her own.
She has always said that Elvis "advised" her on her hair and dress. She did not have to do it. Anyway, Elvis was gone a lot of the time. She could have worn anything she wanted when he was gone.
I think Priscilla turns Elvis' insistence that she not go into show business into "you cannot work". She knew when she married him that he did not want a wife in show business.
Also, in her book Elvis did not throw a chair at her. He threw a chair but not at her. A record flew off the chair and hit her.
Priscilla seems to always think that the public will forget what she has said before. Like we are too stupid to pick up on her lies.

The woman changes her stories to suit. It's all for her getting attention and money. She's just Mrs average without this wonderful entertainers name. They were divorced in 73 so legally not her name. i can’t even with this. the fact they chose Jacob Elordi, a 26 year old known for playing a high school student in the movie “the kissing booth” makes it impossible to take him seriously as an actor. he’s a 13 year olds celebrity crush so seeing him in a different role just can’t happen for me. all i see is Noah Flynn and tik tok going crazy for all three kissing booth movies. so this tween/teen rom-com star is just not the ideal fit for elvis for me.

I am so sorry that I wasted 5.99 to rent on Prime. This movie literally was horrible and I can't believe that they actually released it! I am surprised that someone didn't have the guts to say, "Sorry Sofia, but you made a stinker......burn it and don't let this ruin your reputation as a writer and a director." Priscilla should really be embarrassed.
Elvis and Me was the same way. It is more about Priscilla. I am an Elvis fan, but we need to remember that he may not have been to her what we think when we think of him. We only really know the movie and stage Elvis.

Yes it is
Elvis was not perfect and he had enablers. However, we also live in a society that demonizes men like him and purifies women like Priscilla. The truth is often somewhere in between depending on your angle. I believe that she was allowed to be in his life and RAN with it. She did not just blindly stumble into his life as a young girl and be naively led into his home with no effort on her part. I think she had expectations and was fully invested in becoming Mrs. Presley very early on and manipulated and guilted her parents into allowing things that would not normally be allowed had he been anyone else. Then he became too real once she got what she wanted and grew up a bit. She's made a 50-year career being a grieving widow instead of an ex-wife. Has she added to his wealth and legacy? Absolutely. Is she a controller much like he was? Yes, and I'd say with even more clarity and success because she was stronger than him and didn't have those weaknesses that destroyed him. They could have been quite the team if he had left Parker and was able to clean up his life before she left. Not being able to do that was his real flaw and she's made sure everyone knows it.

NEWEST DETAIL: Lisa Marie came out to Sofia Coppola that she was planning to COME OUT AGAINST HER MOTHER right before she died! We have the emails now. She labeled the Elvis & Me book A REVENGE PROJECT (most likely because Elvis removed her from his will for good in 1977 for now VERY GOOD REASON) and that it INACCURATELY portrays Elvis. In other words SHE LIED ABOUT EVERYTHING.

PRISCILLA LIE NUMBER 1. Priscilla met Elvis AFTER she had intercourse with Elvis' friend, Currie Grant. At that moment she was not a virgin anymore. When Elvis was back in the States, Priscilla had several boyfriends and slept with them. Priscilla was very flirtatious. It is rumored that she was sexually abused by her violent alcoholic stepfather Paul Beaulieu. Priscilla let Elvis believe that she was an innocent virgin but in reality, she was a liar and a manipulator, who was addicted to attention because she always was her mother's little princess.
PRISCILLA LIE NUMBER 2. Priscilla's parents encouraged her relationship with Elvis because they were starstruck and wanted status and money. When Elvis was back in the States they discouraged Priscilla from dating with boys in Germany. Her mother, Ann Iversen, pushed Priscilla to write love letters to Elvis, who occasionally called Priscilla and was back with girlfriend Anita Wood. It was Priscilla, ordered by Ann, who begged Elvis to invite her to the US and it was her parents who forced Priscilla to move to Graceland although she wanted to stay in Germany with her then-boyfriend.
PRISCILLA LIE NUMBER 3. She was not in love with Elvis Presley, but with her boyfriend Jamie. While at Graceland, Priscilla's only goal was to get married to Elvis and then divorce him and take him out like a goose for her own financial benefit and that of her parents. It was no coincidence that Priscilla was sent to the US. months before her 18th birthday, months before her graduation from high school and months before the Beaulieu-family returned to the States. By sending their daughter away to live with Elvis before her 18th birthday the Beaulieus had the means to blackmail Elvis.
PRISCILLA LIE NUMBER 4. Elvis was constantly asked by the Beaulieu-family when he was going to marry Priscilla as he had promised when Priscilla came to Graceland. Elvis was eventually blackmailed into marrying Priscilla by Priscilla's father Paul Beaulieu and Tom Parker.
PRISCILLA LIE NUMBER 5. As soon as Priscilla and Elvis were married, their relationship deteriorated because Priscilla stopped being the demure innocent woman she played before the wedding and became demanding and critical of everything Elvis did. Soon after Lisa Marie was born Priscilla started cheating on Elvis, first with a dance teacher and later with a karate instructor. Elvis realized that Priscilla didn't love him and probably never had.
PRISCILLA LIE NUMBER 6. After the divorce, Priscilla and Lisa Marie lived in a house that exposed not a single photo of Elvis Presley, the man, Priscilla claims, is the love of her life. Elvis certainly didn't believe her. In her book Elvis and Me, Priscilla seems to depict herself as the innocent victim of a bad man, Elvis Presley, but in reality, it is the other way around. It was Elvis Presley, who was manipulated and exploited by Priscilla and her parents. You don't publish negative books/films/interviews about the "love of your life".
PRISCILLA LIE NUMBER 7. When Elvis had died, Priscilla was overheard telling her half-sister Michelle, giggling, that everybody thought she was crying behind her sunglasses but in reality, she was laughing. Priscilla thought she would inherit from Elvis but she did not. Elvis removed Priscilla from his will in February 1977 and left everything to HIS DAUGHTER Lisa Marie.
PRISCILLA LIE NUMBER 8. Priscilla tried to challenge the will BACK THEN but to no avail. ONLY AFTER Elvis' death, did Priscilla IMMEDIATELY resume the use of the profitable surname PRESLEY to promote herself. ** Elvis forbade her in the divorce agreement to use his name but Priscilla has no respect for Elvis' wishes. **
PRISCILLA LIE NUMBER 9. Priscilla stole from Lisa Marie's trust fund by paying herself $900,000 annually, out of Lisa Marie's trust fund without her knowledge/consent. Total financial damage: $16 million.
PRISCILLA LIE NUMBER 10. It's believed now that Marco Garibaldi/Garcia embezzled $15 million from Lisa Marie's trust fund. Co-trustees Priscilla Wagner Beaulieu and Barry Siegel pressured Lisa Marie to sell 85% of her EPE-shares because it would be financially advantageous for them as trustees of Lisa Marie's trust fund. Never mind Lisa Marie's financial interests!
PRISCILLA LIE NUMBER 11. After taxes Lisa Marie had $45 million left from the sale of her EPE-shares. That money was squandered by Barry Siegel; he invested it in his own company, that went broke.
PRISCILLA LIE NUMBER 12. JUST FOUR DAYS after the funeral of Lisa Marie Priscilla challenged Lisa Marie's will from 2016 that removed her as trustee and placed Riley and deceased Benjamin in her seat. Now Riley has agreed that she will pay Priscilla $1.4 MILLION,-- and a guaranteed yearly allowance, during 10 years, to stop her from challenging Lisa Marie's will. Priscilla is also paid subtrustee over 1/9 of the Presley-estate that halfbrother Navarone Garbaldi gets. In a will, that Lisa Marie drew up in 1993, when she was 25, she left, in case of death, 1/9 of her estate to Navarone whom she then adored but when Lisa Marie died she had broken off all contact with Navarone, who publicly scolded her and wished her dead.
CREDIBILITY FAILURE: After all her uncorroborated accusatory nonsense that Elvis was a creepy child molester --- she DEMANDS --- IN COURT OF LAW --- TO BE BURIED RIGHT NEXT TO HIS COFFIN SIDE BY SIDE FOR ETERNITY IN HIS BACKYARD.. moving Elvis' beloved mother and fathers resting places!!!! ....... even though she divorced him 50 years ago and has had a child with another man and her own life with other people for half a century.
CONCLUSION: Priscilla Wagner Beaulieu is only interested in being famous and rich. She has exploited Elvis, Lisa Marie and now Riley, Finley and Harper. Priscilla is a narcissist who uses people and then discards them. EPE should boycott the Priscilla-movie.

Loved the movie but Elvis was a cheater I know Cilla did it too but not like Elvis
I enjoyed the film for its aesthetic, the actors, and the music. It didn't change the way I've felt and will always feel for Elvis Presley. Of course there are inconsistencies. Film is nothing more than art, and art is always left up to interpretation. I don't think it's necessary for people to get so angry about what Sofia put out there. Take it as you will. But since it is based on real people, yes, of course, do your own research. For instance, there is a real clip of Elvis and Priscilla in Hawaii (when they were invited to meet with executives to talk about the construction of the Pearl Harbor Memorial that sits above the USS Arizona) when they were on the beach. Lisa Marie was 3 months old. But Priscilla is lying on her back on a towel, wearing a bikini, and Elvis is on his side obviously talking to her, and he is smiling down at her and rubbing her tummy. That, to me, did not look like a man who didn't want his wife. My point: it's okay to accept a film for its costumes, its aesthetic, its music, its actors who clearly worked hard at their roles. You don't have to take it as Biblical-Truth, for goodness sake. Especially not in this case.

About the beach scene--no it certainly did not look like a man who did not want his wife, and it did not look like a man who didn't want to have sex with his wife as she claimed for years. On that same vacation, she was wearing that outrageous outfit with the big figures on it, and the big hat. She has described that as her kind of taste and said that Elvis only liked her in solid colors. So there goes another one of her accusations,-that Elvis was controlling and made her wear what HE wanted.. it was only one year into the marriage and she was dressing in her own taste.

Elvis presley legacy is not as perfect as you want it to be. Who you saw on stage is not the man at home get overit Elvis was an imperfect man nothing is real about but the truth and not your made up fantasies. First of all Priscilla long ago went back on that lie she told for 30 years, that Elvis would not sleep with her after the baby was born. That was her excuse for the affair she had when Lisa was only 4 months old.
Second, yes, Elvis went out on Priscilla, and she on him. But she cannot use his affairs for an excuse to leave him, because she said in her first book that if he had affairs she did not know it!
People are not mad because the movie showed Elvis' faults. They are mad because the movie was full of lies at Priscilla's approval. How do we know? Because the movie was far from Priscilla's own book! According to the book, Elvis did NOT leave Priscilla alone in a big house, did NOT throw a chair at her, did NOT make her stay home all the time, and did not make it look like he was molesting her when she was under age!

I loved the Priscilla movie, the feel of the time was captured perfectly to see and understand from her prospective. I think it was enough information to share to semi understand just the surface level of their personal relationship while being respectful in telling it how it is. I understand her as a woman I understand their dynamic and the love and hardships and the commitment that stayed lingering throughout their lives.

@@dianalucio9036 This is exactly how I feel. I really don't care how their relationship came to be. Maybe that's heartless, ignorant -- I don't care. The fact is they made a beautiful daughter together, and she had children, and the Presley legacy lives on. I still love Elvis Presley, faults and all, because he was a good man, a remarkable singer, and there will never be another quite like him.
