- DIsney's Robin Hood - Robin & Little John Running Through The Forrest is the first scene of Robin Hood. Chased by the sherif of Nottingham and his posse.
Oo-de-lally From "Robin Hood"
Composed by Roger Miller:
Robin Hood and Little John
Walkin' through the forest
Laughin' back and forth
At what the other'n has to say
Reminiscin' this 'n' that and havin' such a good time
Oo-de-lally, Oo-de-lally, golly what a day
Never ever thinkin' there was danger in the water
They were drinkin', they just guzzled it down
Never dreamin' that a schemin' sherrif and his posse
Was a-watchin' them and gatherin' around
Robin Hood and Little John
Runnin' through the forest
Jumpin' fences, dodgin' trees
And tryin' to get away
Contemplatin' nothin'
But escapin' and finally makin' it
Oo-de-lally, Oo-de-lally
Golly, what a day
Oo-de-lally, Oo-de-lally
Golly, what a day

"My job is to tell it like it is. Or was... or whatever."
Really love that line.
@Minstrel Piece Theater what?! Didn't Roger Miller say that?
Sounds like matthew mcconaughey
Thank Roger Miller for it.
@@josie9306 I mean the rooster did claim to be Alan A Dale at 0:10
@@josie9306 It definitely wasn't that one dude in the replies tho lol
I remember watching this when I was like, 5 and had the biggest crush on Robin Hood. haha
X3
Me too!!! lol
arielartista thats the cutest thing I've ever heard :) loved this movie
So what your Saying is you're a furry?
+arielartista You've a gorgeous smile =D not flirting just complimenting..... well may be a little.
"Oo de lally oo de lally golly what a day"
I never get tired of hearing that line
Seriously though, this takes me back to a much simpler time in life! I want to watch this movie soooooooooo badly now!
SlayCityUSA I used to hate my life but now I hate it even more :'D
Hell yeah 💯
I have probably recited this 50 times in the last 72 hours. At first it was stuck in my head, almost daunting. Then suddenly it became like a mantra. Even after waking up this morning with a hell of a case of "forget this world" I sang it like 3 times and immediately turned my day around. Also I am approaching 34 without thought or mention of this song for over a decade. But yeah, never get tired of it
Same, I have Alan A Dale (the rooster) tattooed on me with "oo de lally oo de lally golly what a day" in script around it!
When Disney knew wtf they were doing. True classical talent
Yea,I miss the good old disney, when it was good at doing movies.
Agreed
ok but the past is the past disney is still disney
When they had the Vision to mold that Talent
Fun fact, this was the first movie Disney made with no input from Walt! ;)
This brings back truly beautiful memories.
midgetydeath so much nostalgia 😭😥
Yeah it over flows
me too..
This comment made me want to cry. Truly miss being a kid

It makes me happy.
Me too, I was grinning ear to ear the whole time listening/watching this!
Jesus died on the cross for our sins that’s why I love him so much
I wore out my read along vinyl before I started school.
Took the words right outta my mouth, P.J.
I read this in Spiderman 3s Topher Grase voice.
This song is so enchanting. It is simultaneously carefree and melancholy, and evokes such nostalgic memories - just awesome
This song has lived in my head rent free for my entire life
Mine too!😂🤣❤
Right on haha same
Never. Ever. EVER. Forget this classic.
Try and stop me Samual! See what happens.
This is a good classic from the dark age.
I'm gen-z and watched this for the first time today
This is still my favorite Disney song. I miss when the Disney movies were actually good.
Frozen was good.
Let it HELL NO!
Big hero six anyone?
You have to admit The Incredibles was well incredible! Pun intended of course.
Yah, they were pretty good. But not my personal fav.
I just stumbled on this by accident, and I remember spending time at my grandma's house watching this with her. I'm a 40 year old man, and I broke down and cried so hard remembering her and I watching this together. I still miss you, grandma.
You didn't break down and cry at all, you're just looking for narcissistic attention.
Roger Miller's role as Allen-A-Dale was one of my favorite parts of this whole film. He brought such a grounded humility to the character. And he was very right, a minstrel was a folk singer. A bard who traveled from town to town, singing songs, telling tales, and chronicling his adventures to entertain the people. People who were in dire need of distraction from very, very difficult lives.
Best Disney movie ever made! I really enjoyed introducing a kid I thought was going to be my stepson to it and he loved it. Good kid. Wish I could still be involved in his life.
My childhood...
I was obsessed with this movie.
Me too!
I had the DVD but gave it away, really need to get another one. I sure do miss watching it on a rainy, lazy day.
...and I still am
This movie will always have a special place in my heart
Everyone has a crush on Robin Hood and honestly, I’m obsessed with that rooster, I just love his design! (Don’t have a crush on em, but he’s defiantly my favorite character!)
I had a crush on the rooster. Little me loved maid Marian & Robin hood and through thick n thin
What made his character awesome was unlike 95% of all narrators in movies he was actually in the movie as a character and had an inportant part to play in the story
What the frick……
@@shalikrox9720 I legit would love to cosplay as him...
they arnt ok hes an animal
I remember when I was 5 years old and felt really sick and couldn't go to kindergarten. My dad put this movie on, made me a cup of tea and we watched together.
One of my best memories, even though it is a bit clouded. I instantly fell in love with the movie and to this day have to laugh at the snake-in-barrel scene.
bless ur dad b
For me it was my mom
You have an awesome dad.
I'm a rancher, and also the frontman of a metal band who lives in the middle of nowhere. I hadn't seen this movie once since I was, oh, about 6, and I just rewatched it a couple weeks ago and fell absolutely in love with the film. As someone who's never really experienced love, Robin and Marian's love is the most perfect and beautiful love I have ever seen. I'm never, never, sad. And this movie had me in a puddle for a good week. The love scene/song is just perfect. Perfect. It really spoke to me deeply as I live in a vast, open, and empty desert, where I'll just walk, and walk, and walk for miles into the nothing letting my mind wander, and enjoying the utter silence and peace... always alone. And it got me thinking; "Wouldn't it be nice, to share my world with someone? Have someone sit next to me on my little mountain and enjoy company?" But I know that type of love expressed between Robin and Marian is very, very rare. Something only a very lucky few in this world will ever experience. Will I ever get that chance? Only time will tell. For now I'll remain in my secluded little world, far, far away from everything...
I don't see Jens Kidman crying in the Disney movie comment section... Lol jk, I know what you mean, I was with my ex for 9 years and friends our whole lives from birth, and she finally ended up where she belongs... the streets. what band are you in tho?
@@hastyhillfarmand4x480 the band I was in when I wrote this comment was called Gadsden, it was a Sludge Metal band. We never got to record anything before dissolving though sadly.
This unlocked so many childhood memories 🥺
My husband and I love this movie. Last night, it was rainy out. We ate chili for dinner and watched this movie, all cozy.
I’d hike through the forested foothills of gold country in Northern California with my dog LJ (little John) and I’d sing this song to him in trails all the time. For 13 long happy years. I’ll always love you ole boy
Brings me right back to my childhood
Still have all my original VHS’s and I like to watch them on our CRT. This song always makes me so happy.
This is my absolute favorite animated Disney movie!
Damn i wish life was just as simple as this. Wonderful tune ill never forget.
“Laughing back and forth at what the other has say reminiscing this and that having such a good time” reminds me of my late childhood best friend
this movie is absolutely beautiful
Man childhood right here…plus who else misses hand drawn Disney cartoons?
One of my favorite versions of Robin Hood. :) I saw it in the early 70's. My mom took me to the one lone theater in our small town. It was fun!
Probably the best Disney song ever made, super catchy and such a great movie!
I love you dad.
I'll miss you.
The good times, the bad times.
But above all.
Our times.
So sorry for your loss
My 5 year old just discovered this movie and it makes me so happy because this was my favorite movie as a child. I watched this scene probably 100 times or more, trying to sing the words: I could never figure them out until I was an adult! Love love love ❤️
Robin Hood and Little John, walking through the forest
Laughing back and forth at what the other one has to say
Reminiscing this and that and having such a good time
Oo-de-lally, oo-de-lally, golly, what a day
Never ever thinking there was danger in the water
They were drinking, they just guzzled it down
Never dreaming that a scheming sheriff and his posse
Was a-watching them and gathering around
Robin Hood and Little John, running through the forest
Jumping fences, dodging trees and trying to get away
Contemplating nothing but escape and finally making it
Oo-de-lally, oo-de-lally, golly, what a day
Oo-de-lally, oo-de-lally, golly, what a day
“Ooh de-lally, ooh de-lally, ooh de-lally, golly what a day.” I sing that in my head on the way to work on a Friday morning.
This song reminds me of my mom.
Good times were had, back when I would put the VHS in and she'd come sit with me and watch.
I miss those times.
Always loved Roger Miller. Dude was just the epitome of cool.
This is a 1000 times better than any crap Disney puts out now.
Stop just hating on the present day
Come in, that’s an exaggeration.
To answer anyone, yes, I came here from the android commercial. And you know what? I'm glad that I did. The last time I saw this movie was when I was a little kid. If it wasn't for Android, I'd probably never have this stroll down memory lane.
@GeneralGrim I care.
This should make me cry, but it's just so happy and warm of a song that I can't help but feel safe when I hear it.
Same :)
Who else was born far from the 70s but grew up on older Disney movies?
Meee
I remember when I had the VHS for this, and it even had a short of Mickey Mouse at the beginning.
Good Lord, this was such a huge part of my childhood. I loved every minute of it.
This is my favorite Disney movie. Of all time! I'm 33 years old and still to this day if something good happens to me or I'm in a really good mood I'll just starting singing "Ooh de lally ooh de lally jolly what a day!"
Everyone looks at me funny when I do it but I don't care lol Meanwhile the little kids who have parents cool enough to show them this movie look at me and give me the chin up nod like "sup playa, I hear you signing that robin hood , do your thang"
Used to play and sing this for my kids. Roger Miller's voice is a comforting voice of a simpler time in this world. Reminds me of the 60's and King of the Road and Little Green Apples.
I've had a vague memory of this for years and I finally found it
Loved this movie when I was younger
You’re not the only one😉
This was probably my favorite kids movie. Such warm memories.
🥰
I was born in 97 but boy I had this HVS worn out eventually as a kid. Love this movie.
This makes me want to cry this will forever be my favorite movie ever
The old Disney movies are still the best

Just a good song from a classic movie.
This gives me a type of nostalgia I didn’t know I needed

MY CHILDHOOD WAS DRAWN ANIMATED FARM ANIMALS! This is what brings back all the feels! 😫😭
This song makes me feel like I’m 4 years old at my grandparents house again
Roger miller really hits deep.
This movie is my childhood I swear
Who still listing in 2020

This song has so much nostalgia 😥😭
I’m in awe how one minute and twenty seconds can bring me back genuine hours and days of memories. God I hate growing up
God this brings back so many memories
🥰
I've watched Robin Hood for the first time when i was 2 and i still love it :)
Ahh, i remember those times when i had a crush on Robin Hood and actually believed that i'll marry him one day... Lol.
He is a quite handsome young lad

Robin Hood, always a classic. Love it. Walt Disney Forever!
The best explanation of what a folk singer does on the internet
I absolutely adore this song, I would sing it all the time when I was little
My childhood memories 🥰❤️ the best cartoon ever 🥰
I remember watching when I was a little girl. I had crush on robin. 💖💖 To bad that they don’t make these movies anymore.
I was 10 or 11 when I first watched this movie and I had a crush on Robin Hood.
Legendary.
I love how this hasn’t been marked as for kids.
I watched this movie on 17 September for the first time since I was a kid.
When an android commercial captures your heart, so you look up the original scene from your childhood, only to get started with the same advertisement...
love roger Miller
Now is the time for the return of Robin Hood. When the greedy won't spare a dime, who will help the people?
THE FEELS!! I remember singing along to this with my cousin (in swedish tho) and ooh can i go back to my childhood?
This was me and my dad’s favorite movie growing up. Brings back so many memories.
I’m gonna be 17 soon and watching this makes me cry
Man, this sure brings back some good memories...
Beautiful memories ❤️
This is my favourite Disney film , I know this song off my heart and love singing it
Still the best version
Wondrous time
Loved this movie..and sword of the stone..
I would watch this vhs over and over as a kid. It had all these other Walt Disney songs as well. The Three Caballeros was one of them.
Freakin awesome
love it
We all have a little john to our robbin.. To them all....We thank you for sharing the adventure!
This movie would do so well if it was live action
“Oo de lally,Oo de lally golly what a day”:’)
This takes me super far back on memorie lane road
Reminds me of my dad.
Wish they still made movies like this
I was reading a book about Robin Hood and little John the other day and the whole time I thought about this song non-stop
Roger Miller sang it like it was.
One of the best movies ever!!! I will always cherish the classic Walt Disney films
MY CHILDHOOD 😭
I'm gen-z and watched this for the first time today
This song gives me unexplainable joy...
Like if you are here because the Android commercial brought you back to your childhood somehow.
That commercial played while I was downstairs trying to print something and there's my father in his old man chair (He's 70) and he was like, ''Remember that song?''
''What song?''
''The song they just played. Remember in Robin Hood?''
Course I wanted to make it seem like I was too old to remember anything from *any* Disney film and said, ''Nope.''
Feel bad because, I do remember almost all the films and songs; and I'm 24.
The android commercial brought me here, but it didn't remind me of my childhood because I'm in my childhood. :)
Either way I liked.
I had copletely forgotten this till the android commercial
Some days I crave this tune. Absolutely wonderful.
The early, classic Disney cartoon movies are the absolute best, imo.
