The western way of life is 100% poison. It's disgusting. We keep our children as little kids until they turn 18, and then they go off into the world only to see you again on Christmas and send you a phone call on Fathers/Mothers day. This is bad.

@@alexa.davronov1537That’s true, but honestly, anything can happen and anything is possible. Maybe someone who sees this, offers a sponsorship for kids like him and could actually have a chance in this life.

@@fliptheswitchklipz9498 I would hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. That's the rule number one this world. You can't rely on some sponsorship obviously in order to survive... I just wonder why didn't they use bricks to build static homes considering low depth. Very weird. Cheers from Russia anyway.

The govt/taxpayer can't be every ones "nanny". When the so called rich and developed countries economies collapse because of massive unsustainable spending and debt and worthless fiat currencies they will devolve to look more like this in Peru. In a large portion of the world, if you won't work to take care of yourself........... you will go hungry.

the worst thing can happen to these natives is government involvement taking all their resources, impoverish their minds and souls with electricity, phones, tv and all these things that destroyed true balance between humans and earth.

I was really feeling down in the past few months and I was searching for things to motivate me until I came across this channel and watched different countries' dangerous ways to school. The videos made me realize how privileged I am and I still had the guts to complain. I can't imagine my life being in their situation. This made me grateful for where God placed me in this world. I should live it well by now. I would also share these videos with other kids or someone who needs to see things on another side of the world and hopefully helps them have a better outlook in life.

It's not a privilege. It's luck. You were lucky to be born into a first or second world country. You were lucky to be born into a society that is forward thinking. These kids parents could get them a boat with an engine but they are dead set on doing what their ancestors have been doing for a hundred years. Building their reed island while their neighbors are getting motor boats. Rowing 4hrs each way for a few hrs of school and they shouldn't get home till midnight. I think they are embellishing something because this makes no sense. Also, if you feel down, get up and do something. Only YOU are responsible for how YOU feel. Don't let anyone or anything make you sad. It's a choice. You've been trained to not think. As soon as you realize it's a choice, you're life will change. But until then, be sad and feel sorry for yourself.

This is a fascinating interesting and amazing video of the TITIKAKA People in the Peruvian wilderness. So far they seemed to have maintained some sort of ancient traditional lifestyles. It's a difficult life but yet they are naturally happy . They are very greatful people who make the best of nature. I just wonder why they have chosen to live on a reed island rather than land closer to school. But nothing stops them from progressing .I admire their determinations to risk their lives to learn.

There's people buying boats with motors around them and they continue to spend their hard work on getting new reads to rebuild their rotting Islands that they've been rebuilding for a hundred years. And it doesn't make sense why they're spending all that time rolling to go to school and then spend another 4 hours of rolling back home it makes zero sense somebody's lying

As a Norwegian living among the fjords, i can say rowing while sitting with your back to the bow,
is much more effective, maybe they have their reasons to not do it,
but that`s literally where "put your back into it" comes from,
you will ruin your arms rowing like that...
But damn they are tough though.. Respect...
    Great documentary...

@@even8847 That's all I can figure as well. Also, I noticed the little girl was standing and would put her body weight into each push on the odds. With her small size and light weight maybe that's the best way to get leverage. It's an interesting method nonetheles.

I’ve been on a kayak twice in my life so take this with a grain of salt but I think they use their whole body weight to sort of take a step forward. Maybe that helps reserve energy over a long period of time?
Oh and another point is probably that they are shorter because they are kids, the upright posture gives em more leverage
Third point may be the difference in current (fjord - lake) I recon long strokes get you further on the lake and you need more power on a fjord
