It’s refreshing to hear Jerry talk happy and healthy. A dude that rose from the ashes and didn’t crash and burn like so many. Wishing a continued happy healthy life for Jerry
I heard many of Jerry's interview s an he always talks great about Layne an Mike all the hell they went through together It great u can tell the love he has for them.rip Layne an mike
Jerry always comes across as an articulate, intelligent man. His interviews are always top notch.. non of this "Like wow man, far out crap you get from some artists out there, definitely a pleasure.
Thought he handled those questions gracefully. You know he is asked those questions in every single interview. Love the new stuff, wish them all the best on their upcoming European tour.
I agree with jerry...let layne rest in peace..yes he was/is a great human being that ever walked foot on this earth but geez let him n mike rest ..thy r gone n all memories now.rip
I never thought about the comparison between a military family and the family of a musician on the road. I retired from the Army after 24 years and during thwt time I spent years away from home. Three Iraq deployments, two to Afghanistan, two hardship tours in Korea, kosovo, Egypt, and all the other MREx's at NTC and JRTC.....alot of time away from the family. Sometimes we forgot how hard it is for the family at home. So yes, there seems to be a close comparison in that regard.
I think it's funny that the questions about Layne and Mike Starr just happen to be questions sent in by the listeners. Man up and ask those questions yourself, don't hide behind the listeners!
This is def an old interview. Good I found it but a lot has changed I think Mike Inez is divorced now. But it still seems relevant. Yes it is painful to talk about layne and Mike for all the easily seen reasons. Jerry cannot work with William the same way and I don't think they try to do a "layne" impersonation on stage, nor would fans really want that anyway. The band is older, wiser, and stone cold sober so the dirt years are gone. Plus how could Jerry do the music the same that emotional upheaval, disservice to not only layne but his own healing. We just have to accept it and move on. You either support this new music or you don't. It's time to move on.
I love Jerry Cantrell to death, but I always dread listening to his interviews because I know fantasy fucking football is going to come up and put me to sleep lol
Can you imagine the survivor's guilt he would have? Layne, Mike Starr, Chris Cornell, Andrew Wood, ... and that's just his really close friends. It seems like half the grunge scene ODed and/or committed suicide.

Jerry is a special person. It would be easy to be his friend and so glad he & Sean got through the madness & are doing well.
Jerry doesn’t fuck with Twitter because of his level of intellect
He seems like a good person, very honest. Great talent.
Jerry sounds like someone who'd be great to have beer or just hang out with!

Dig what a regular guy Jerry is.
It's not easy getting over Layne if it's even possible! Layne Staley lives within...

Love Jerry's laugh
Me too, classic.
Agree
I have always loved Laynes voice. He was amazing. A talent lost too soon. Mike was such a good friend to be there for him.
Yeah Mike was there alright. Right there when Layne died as well . Actually gave him the drugs ! Mike is where he belongs...dead.
