He didn’t really have to but he did because he was in a very bad place, with Layne’s situation and then addiction and relationship problems, Jerry was at his low point those couple yrs and kind of became a hermit for a little Bit like Layne did. It made for some fuckin amazing music but man it was not good for him and We’re all lucky he got through it and sobered up and is still kickin ass today. He’s talked about deg trip recently and says he doesn’t play any of the songs live because he doesn’t like to revisit that time in his life, said maybe some day but currently no plans to ever do it.

Mike Starr was the only one of the AIC guys who had a child. I wonder if the guys had been able to establish a family and home life if things might have turned out differently? There's no way of knowing, but I do wonder. I get the strong impression that Layne wanted fame, but he couldn't deal with it and preferred a private lifestyle. I think that's why he fell apart when Demri died - his hope for a normal life died with her. Even though they'd been apart for a few years he seemed to carry a torch for her.
