If you are making a43 waist how much would you make the hip
Since the waist will have an elastic, you should use your hips measurement and not your waist measurement.

Hi. I don’t not understand your question.
However, as long as your crotch area fits, you can use your preferred length.
When taking the measurements, are you using the exact body measurements or you add extra allowance.
Hi. I used the exact measurements. But take note that I added 0.5" when marking them on the fabric. However, you can add 1" to yours instead of 0.5". Don't add more.

You only need a few measurements.
Measure round the hips, round the waist, round the thigh and also from the waist to the boxer length.
NB: The measurements used is for medium size

The important sizes you need are the waist and hip sizes. Remember you're putting elastic at the waist. Just measure a few men that fall in the sizes of S, M, L and XL and you can use those sizes.

Hi. You can make yours true to size. Add a couple of extra inches to the width and crotch length and you’ll have a goo fitting boxer short
