Lincoln is full of museums with a wide range of themes. They range from typical offerings such as the University of Nebraska State Musem or Sheldon Museum of Art to unique buildings such as the International Quilt Museum or the Johnson Museum of the Odd.
Lincoln has historic sites that have survived for years. Stop by the Governor’s Residence or the Nebraska State Capitol for a glimpse at the history of the state’s government. Visit the Pioneers Park Pillars to see a unique monument that still captures the eyes even though it’s beginning to show its age.
Lincoln has plenty of historic natural beauty for you to peruse despite its status as a capital city. Travel through Robber’s Cave or view the beautiful flowers on display at the Sunken Gardens.
The city offers sites for every member of the family to enjoy. You can take your young ones to the Children’s Zoo or Museum or let them burn off energy at the play area of the Pioneers Park Nature Center.
College football fans shouldn’t miss their chance to see the Memorial Stadium, home of the Cornhuskers. Visiting on game days gives you a chance to connect with fans, but you can also tour the Walk of Fame anytime.
If you want a broader experience with a bit more to look at, try spending some time in the Haymarket District. This area has long stretches of shops and restored buildings with a lively atmosphere thanks to the college students that visit it.

The bike/walking trails are great and the Lied Center has some great shows! We just saw Les Miserables there.
