Thanks, I'm glad I could help! Ventura is a great place for riding! If you decide to buy, you can support E-Biking Today by using my special link to purchase alnk.to/dWcwvyQ -I'll get a small commission :) I appreciate you!
I have to say this ebike is totally awesome. I just purchased 2 a large for me and a regular for my wife. We took them on our first ride the other day and boy oh boy this Discover 2 is one of the best ebikes we have owned. The ride is great, the features on this bike are the best and even the app on our phone was excellent. We love this ebike and can't wait to take it out again.
Great video, thank you! Another pro of the bike is the newly update app juat added Cadence! Discover 2 is not just a torque bike, but a cadence one as well!! You can choose between thw two modes via the app!!
You didn't mention that it not only has a torque sensor, but it also has a cadence sensor. So dual sensors for those of us who prefer a cadence sensor. It's the primary reason I bought it. I actually enjoy a cadence sensor because I had my hip replaced, and don't wish to have my motor speed determined by the amount of pressure I put on the pedal. Also, you didn't mention the choice of sizes with the Velotric 2. It comes in regular and large. A majority of ebikes come in a one-size-fits-all frame. The Discover 1 Plus, for example had only one-size. Having a larger size for those who are over 5'11 is a very desirable feature. You did mention unlocking the throttle, I believe. But i just wanted to clarify since it wasn't explicitly mentioned in the video, you can go 28 MPH on throttle-only. This is a very unusual feature. Overwhelmingly, most ebikes will allow you to unlock the pedal assist to a class 3 (28 MPH), but will not allow you to unlock the throttle speed. It's maximum on most bikes is 20 MPH.
Yes, there is a recent Velotric app udpate that lets you toggle from torque to cadence, so you can ride the way that works for you. This is super cool but you must use the updated app to make changes. Sounds like you are loving the Discover 2, which is great to hear!
it is getting more and more difficult to choose the perfect e bike for your need with the ever expanding field of available bikes. Reviews like yours are very helpful, but nothing beats an actual test ride. Imagine having to buy a car online w/o being able to test drive it. Problem is that there are very few bike shops with various brands and models to try out.
I'm so torn between 3 bikes! They seem very similar, and are at generally similar price points. I want something comfortable that can handle both streets and gravel. Do you have any input when comparing these three? The Velotric Discover 2, the Aima Santa Monica, and the Troxus 1.0? Thanks!
It's really hard to pick, isn't it?! They are very similar... however, the Discover2 (alnk.to/dWcwvyQ) has a more powerful motor for $100 less than the Troxus (shrsl.com/4pzap). I thought the Discover was a great e-bike but haven't reviewed the Troxus. Sorry, I'm not at all familiar with Aima :)
Check out the Discover 2 torque and cadence sensor options alnk.to/dWcwvyQ ... ride exactly how you want!
I'd take comfort before all else!
@@kathleenshae6550 Good to know!
Well done, you helped my decision. And it's nice to see Ventura in the background.

Great bike. This bike has it all. Love mine. Can't imagine wanting something more.
I’m happy to hear that you love it! It really does have everything you need!
Good review, Lisa!!
My wife and I picked up our Discover 2s exactly two months ago and we LOVE ‘EM!!!
Thank you! And that is awesome to hear!

You're welcome! That's amazing... gotta check that out!
i appreciate the comparison portion with other bikes at the same price point, very helpful when you do that!
Good to know! Glad it was helpful!
Loving this bike!
Wonderful!
Looks like a nice cruise
It is... a great cruiser and commuter e-bike!

Better deals online!
Yes, it's a bit overwhelming! The nice thing about buying online is you can really take your time to check out all the details and get reviews.
Often true!
Good that it has a torque sensor and plemty of power.
It has everything most riders need and more!

We travel a lot and I’d want to take the bike with me. Does the Discover 2 have a quick release on the front wheel and seat post?
The seat post is quick release but the front tire has a thru-axle. So it’s stronger but you’d have to take the right size hex wrench with you.
