I can only speak of the Aventon Level 1.0 which I have ridden for 2.5 years and 5,500 miles. It has a cadence sensor and has virtually replaced my car. Best purchase I have made in years. The 500 watt motor is totally adequate for relatively level pavements but this is not an off road machine.

Rims, but makes the bike heavier thus feeling more of the roads. Harder to replace the hubdrive.

I got an Abound SR and I love it, but there are some additional issues I had that people should be aware of when it comes to how the bike is manufactured and shipped. First, there was paint in one of the screw holes needed for accessory mounting that I had to get drilled out. Second, the front wheel came very poorly adjusted. It took a shop a lot of work to true it up. They said the rear was not bad. The derailleur also needed tweaking, but that’s to be expected. Anyway, since Aventon sells direct to consumer for at-home assembly, I think it’s worth mentioning that after you assemble one of their bikes, you should do yourself a favor and have a shop take a look at the wheels and drivechain. You’ll end up with a much better, and safer, experience.

A word about the Aventon app: It's one of the few brand apps that is reliably updated and has really good reviews (4.4 stars). A lot of them are useless and rated one or 2 stars :)

This is a pretty amazing bike! I'm thinking of all the things I could ride with and then not worry about safety. If you can't move it when it's locked, that's better than just an alarm! and Im always looking for the keys to my bike, so auto unlock is important to me.

Too heavy and way too many electronics that could eventually fail. I notice that you dismount to the left when you come to a stop, just like me. Is this because you're right handed, or does it not matter?

Just bought. two of the LMT'D V2'a for. myself and my wife. New to ebike world. LOVE THEM!! Total quality and had the lpocal bike shop assemble them. Adds to the Black Friday price but so worth it. This is an amazing bike with the butter smooth intuitive torque sensor...it is amazingly like riding a regular bike. Pedal and get the. workout and exercise you want and the torque sensor just seamlessly adds just the right amount of assist. You're crazy not to get on. Happy Thnxgiving to all

I'd go with the 1000W just because it has a torque sensor, but I doubt I'll ever want to get close to 32mph!

The Lmtd is the perfect bike in my book. You get a torque sensor and you're not going to find a better price for something this lightweight and still has a throttle.

Thanks, this is really helpful. I should point out that at 5:54 minutes into the video, while describing the Lectric XP 3.0 you say the longer range model can be had for just only $100 more... I'm sorry, that should be $200 more ($1199 vs $999). It is the Ride1Up Portola that offers the larger capacity battery for just $100 more ($1095 vs $995). I've seen some reviewers comment that the Ride1Up Portola lacks a horn or bell or derailleur protection. I'm happy to report a bell and derailleur guard are on the Portola I just received (11/21/2024). For me what stood out in favor of the Portola is: 1. This bike has a cleaner look, and lower step thru height, 2. The battery is removable without having to fold the bike. 3. I like the color choices on the Portola. 4. The compact display off to the side offers space in the middle of the handlebar for adding accessories, like a smart phone holder. 5. The 8-speed Shimano drive train offers a wider range of gears. As far as range, don't go by advertised range, do your own range test and you'll find the range difference between these two is not significant. The Portola is the winner in my book.

I just got my new Ride1Up Portola eBike. Some reviewers have said it lacked a bell and protection for the derailleur, but mine came with both ! This is my 3rd eBike, having owned a Radpower Rover and a Radpower City. The Portola is the best eBike for me so far. I'm 5'10" and it fits me well. The stock seat feels fine, but I bought the comfort package to get the suspension seat post, a cushier seat and 2 mirrors - You've got to have mirrors for safety folks. I wish at least one mirror was included with every eBike. I ordered mine with the larger 13.4 AH battery. I don't yet know what my range will be, but on my first long ride I rode 24 miles in PAS 2 and the battery charge indicator still shows 3 out of 4 bars. Looks promising.
