The stress affected the health of her pregnancy, and my infant sibling survived birth but died the following year. We were in total disarray for a long time. I spent a good solid year not doing anything besides school which I was barely passing after having been a straight A student, definitely NO sleepovers at all. I needed therapy before I could even begin to function as a kid again. It's so hard to be a grieving child when what exists of your support system is also in a crushing state of grief and possibly chaos. I'm so sorry, from my heart. I hope you got the help you needed. Calling to leave a sleepover because you're having an anxiety attack and experiencing the grief and emotional fall out of a recent loss, is completely different...that is an example of the genuinely urgent that I mentioned. Of course you would struggle to have a good time and would want to leave at some point! Also, I think, untreated separation anxiety, feeling physically sick, being girl-bullied, not feeling safe ....these are all genuine reasons to ask to go home. (I once realized the house I was having a first time sleepover at contained a parent who was a violent alcoholic. The other parent seemed very nice and stable so my family had said yes... realizing an intoxicated guy in boxers is the reason the walls are full of punch holes is also a fair reason to call home, imho) The "demanding" part was not asking to leave..... Handing off your bag like your friend is a bell hop, criticizing her toothbrushing habits, monopolizing the TV, insisting on **silence** from everyone but yourself.... Its the first 90% of the video that made that guest demanding, and makes the request to leave seem like she's just used to having all her whims immediately met.
