  • I'm happy to present a new 2021 MCI J4500 in the U of Maryland fleet! Here is a quick drive after cleaning it up and getting some photos. Please excuse the rattles - the driver compartment COVID barriers are a little noisy.
    Engine: Detroit Diesel DD13
    Transmission: Allison B500
Let me know if you like this content and if you'd like to see a comparison walkthrough between this 2021 model and our 2017 models.

Your U of M J4500 is stunning in black! Btw, according to an Allison vocational motorcoach manual, "MODE ON" button on the B500 makes the transmission shift at 300 rpm higher when going from gears [4 to 5] and [5 to 6] only. It makes no difference in shifting from gears 1 to 4.

@@eugew23 what I can say is Prevost is more luxurious (preferred by passengers), feels more powerful (even with the same engine/transmission setup) and I felt it more town-traffic friendly (because of possibility to raise the tag axle). MCI is like a car (I believe is closer to the ground / shorter) and gives the driver more confidence (stability) at highways speed, specially in high-speed turns. I drive Prevost more than MCI.

@@beniaminrolea8891 I have heard the same things from others about Prevosts.
