I love good leather footwear, too. Sneakers are great for comfort around the house, etc., but I want leather footwear with low to mid-heels for going out. They add so much to an outfit. I’m always impressed when men wear good leather shoes instead of sneakers, too.
I’m one of those who loves fine, lightweight, non-bulky, and above all, short, knits. I’m on the small side and my figure nearly vanishes in those oversized bulky sweaters. Plus, they might be too hot. I bought a few “better” (thicker) cashmere sweaters this autumn and am a bit worried that I will overheat in them. I love a cropped sweater, which on me covers my waistband and sometimes extends down to my hipbones, I think they’re much more flattering than those tunic-length ones. I’m also sizing down a size or two, knits seem to just be getting bigger, along with other clothes, because of the oversized trend. I love your channel❤
Dear Kimberly, I agree with you regarding the shorter lightweight knits. I used to like them more when I was younger (and still do sometimes, but more with skirts than trousers), but now I’m drawn to lighter and shorter pieces. I just got a beautiful cashmere slim fit jumper (thrifted) that I’m showing in my new video and I looooove it🥰
Bravo Mariola! Your new mic sounds amazing and thanks for the shout out lol. Your styling is once again spot on. It's great that you mention shopping in charity shops. I'm not a fan of influencers that are always doing "haul" videos. I think some people have a negative feeling about thrifting/charity shopping but I've found it to be a great way to acquire quality clothing and accessories for a fraction of the cost. Plus, we're saving the planet at the same time. A win-win. I call it treasure hunting. We need to normalize second hand shopping.
thank you so much for your ongoing support, it means so much!! I haven’t really gone shopping (high street) since summer, because I was too busy. And that helped me so much to see my wardrobe in a different way. But I have been checking our local charity shops more frequently and OMG what treasures have I found😁 showing some of them in my new video👍 ps. I agree with you about normalising SH shopping because its better for our wallets and the Planet.
Loved this one Mariola, particularly the styling of the longer skirt . Looking forward to the styling of others. Thank you again for your always simple but effortless style advice .
Great content!! First time watching your video. I love the outfit combinations. I feel inspired and empowered to go through my closet and put outfits together. I've become tired of the "influencer" type videos that push you to consume. Great style inspo with items I already own!! 👍🏻 You've got a new subscriber. God bless ❤
I will always love pleated skirts! I probably am stuck in my style, usually a skirt, top and blazer, but I love it too much to give it up. I’m old enough, 63, to wear what I really want to, I suppose, and this look is just me.
same here. I tend to wear them a lot and then when I get tired put them on a side for a season or two, but I’ll always have a pleated skirt in my wardrobe. Recently I’m loving the TIBI midi skirt, but the price tag means that it will stay on my wish list for a long time😜
Amazing so my style finally someone who nailed it, been watching so many videos of capsules wardrobes a you completely nailed it. Hi new subscriber love the video. Thank you 😊
Oh on time, thank you ❤ I created that first outfit (linen white pants with gray knit sweater) two weeks ago, but on the same day I watched a video for one of my very favorite trusted fashion stylist said that kinda mess, because linen is very much summery fabric!, but I really not see any wrong with that, it was very chic and not off at all, especially mine is fully lined so I feel it’s more wearable in the colder months than the see through one, also I used my burgundy accessories (my backpack and belt) with them they elevated the look so much, always helpful beautiful ❤️
Hi Christina!! thank you so much for your lovely comment. May I ask after watching that video of your favourite stylist, did you stop wearing linen? I think how and when you style your clothes is very personal. Some people wear linen all year round as it’s very soft and warm on your skin. I think you should wear what makes you happy and the best version of yourself. I also love linen trousers clashing with some heavy material like wool or cashmere 🥰🥰
I already worn it two times 😄absolutely agree 100% with you, I don’t mind to educate myself with the fashion big lines but never never leave myself to everything I watch or listen to, I always go with my feelings and sense, yes it’s first time for me to wear linen pants in fall but always wear my linen white shirt under my cable knit or cashmere sweater in winter❤️
aaaw I just saw your reply. Good for you to follow your intuition and your sense of style. After all you’re gonna wear it and not someone else😊 btw. I personally loooooove linen bedding all year round🥰
Great audio! Thank you so much, all that tech stuff must be daunting. That’s why I don’t have my own YT channel, the editing alone would drive me bonkers❤
thank you so much Kimberly. It means a lot. And yes, you’re right, the tech side of a YT channel can be overwhelming. You should really consider doing something with your extensive technical knowledge. Maybe a blog. I would read it!!😊
This was very enjoyable to watch! Good to think about colour combinations and silhouettes in more creative ways, I love grey and navy and have the same cashmere shawl from TK Maxx although mine is in charcoal grey! Hope they bring more back some day!
woooow you lucky!! I have been trying to find that shawl in grey, ordered online from supposedly cashmere experts and had to return, because the quality wasn’t as half as good as the one from tkmaxx. But I’ve been checking their shops this year with hope. Thank you so much for your lovely comment. We don’t need new clothes, we need new ideas😊
This year I finally found some beautiful leather loafers that don't give my problem feet any issues so I bought them in black and brown. A big win for me there. Another great find was a wool and cashmere coat from Theory. It's unlined so not for really cold weather but it's so stylish and because it was available in petite it fits me perfectly. I can't wait to wear it.
wooow such great finds!! I don’t know about you, but I get such thrills when I find some amazing quality pieces, especially second hand. Ps. my most recent hunt was a 100% cashmere navy blazer/coat for my husband (£26)!!!
I looove the video! I have a similar black pleated skirt that I wear a lot all year, so I can't wait for your next video! I love the color palette and styling. I have two pairs of loafers from massimo dutti, camel and black but I don't reach for them too often. They are comfy but I always reach instead for my doc martens oxford shoes, pointy ballet flats, pointy boots or converse. Would be great a video about styling loafers because I find them unflattering, maybe because I am quite short.
Thank you so much for your sweet comment and a very useful insight about the MD shoes. I must say loafers are also not my favourite shoes. I prefer penny loafers or derbies (and of course pointy boots😊)
I bought a lace up ankle boots from Massimo Dutti last winter. The pair is a bit pricey (at least to me) but I dont regret buying it. It is in perfect shape and I suppose I will be able to wear it for the next years to come.
thank you so much for your great advise. It really helps to make an educated decision. I do like their clothes in general so I would expect a good quality shoes too🥰
You definitely inspired me to try new color combinations. My neutrals palette is white, gray, and navy. For some reason, I haven’t paired white and gray! I’ve also still been wearing my white linen pants, so as our weather in Colorado cools a bit, I’m going to pair them with my gray cashmere sweater. I already can’t wait to get dressed! Thanks for the inspiration 🙂
aaaw I’m so happy you got some inspiration from my video. Sometimes the obvious things are not so obvious until we see it on someone else 😊 have fun styling your clothes!
What a great video! You've inspired me to look at the clothes I have a little differently and try some combinations I wouldn't have otherwise. Perfect timing as I was a little bored with what I've been wearing but not really wanting to go out to shop to buy new. The sound was good
Hello Dear! I’m so glad to “hear that”. Looks like we were both. And you are so right not to go shopping when you’re bored with your clothes, because that wont fix the problem. xxx 😘
Loved this! ❤ could you do a video on which shoes/boots to wear with different outfits? I’d really love to see how you put them together as a love your style!
thank you so much Dear! I really appreciate your comment. This is a good idea. I will try to make a video with some outfit combinations and pairing them with different shoes🥰👍
Such an inspiring video. Thank you so much for sharing your classic and elegant style choices. I'm having a gray moment this Fall and have acquired a few pieces to add to my wardrobe. Now I need a gray handbag to finish things off. Any ideas? I love the one you've used in this video. Looks perfect! Thanks again. Blessings from California XXX
thank you so much for your sweet comment. I’m really glad you like it. Grey is a happy colour to me and it’s more flattering than beige. My bag is old and hard to get in America. If I come across something worth considering I’ll make sure to let you know😊
I love the grey combinations. I purchased a grey wool suit last year and I plan to use a monochromatic look as you presented today. Thanks for your inspiration. Where did you get the grey cable knit sweater? It is beautiful and so classic.
Hello Diane. I’m so jealous, because I still cannot find the perfect grey wool trousers (I love my blazer though). The grey jumper is from LILYSILK. I haven’t washed it yet so don’t know how it holds, but its made from a very soft and thick cashmere. I linked it in the description box😊🫶
Just watched your video for a second time, I was needing some inspiration and I got it! I am loving your new hat! I wanted to ask, do you wear gold jewelry with gray or usually silver?
Hello my Dear. Apologies, I missed your message. Thank you so much that you watch and re-watch my videos😊🫶 I am at the point where I wear my jewellery depending on my mood so it really depends. I love all grey with silver and pearls, but grey with black or grey with white looks beautiful with both silver and gold. Another combination, if you wear grey with burgundy, that would be amazing with gold🥰
Hello Dear and thank you so much for your sweet comment. The shoes I’m wearing are sock boots from Aldo, but they are around 3 years old. I have just found a very similar pair from Vagabond. They look almost identical and have a nice comfortable not-to-high heel😊 they’re called Marja www.zalando.co.uk/vagabond-marja-classic-ankle-boots-black-va111n0gg-q11.html
I am loving the experimentation with some new looks. They look great on you! Where is that black and silver belt from? It's gorgeous! I often size up in Massimo Dutti with shoes. I usually order my size and one up and most times I go with the bigger size. Other than that I really love their footwear.
Hello Dear and thank you so much for your kind comment. I’m really enjoying the new ways of styling my old clothes…and still trying new things. My silver belt is old from Arket and I also think it’s lovely (maybe try second hand, it’s a really good quality). Thank you so much for sharing your experience with MD shoes. They look amazing, but often the pretty ones are not comfortable. I feel more confident now👍😊
great video! glad to see you back and yes the microphone works well! Question, did you size up in the cable grey sweater or does it run a bit oversized? TY!!
thank you so much and I’m happy you like the outfits. The croc bag is actually black and its by very talented Polish designer Chylak. I left a link in the description box.
thank you Mariola! love your videos - I am really looking forward to the skirts video, since I was thinking to get a pleated skirt for winter but then I am not sure if to wear ti with chunky sweater over it, tuck it in or jacket over it? wouldnt it make my proportions strange as like make legs short? or that i would drown in a skirt and oversized blazer? Also, I am not sure how to wear trousrs with blazer so that it wouldnt look like too fromal costume?:)
thank you so much for your interesting comment. My midi skirt video shall be live very soon🤞🏼😊 so I don’t want to go into details, but hopefully it will give you lots of ideas to style your skirt (both oversized and more figure hugging). As to the suit or trousers and blazer situation, the way I do it is to add some casual and feminine elements, because you already have 2 tailored pieces (I’m talking about wide leg trousers and oversized blazer). I would wear my sneakers/converse and a very simple white/black t-shirt or a cashmere jumper. Maybe add some pearls, hoop earrings, a crossbody bag and a tote bag (to add something casual). Also if it’s not too cold adding your jumper over your shoulders makes everything more modern and daily. I hope it helps😊
I think a scarf instead of a sweater draped over the shoulders would look much better. The draped sweater is a bit of a preppy stereotype, rightly or wrongly.
really enjoyed this. Love that you are not all from the normal high street shops and you find great things in charity shops!
I’m so happy you liked it!! and I also love finding some gems in charity/vintage shops. they add a real spice in a classic wardrobe😊
I love good leather footwear, too. Sneakers are great for comfort around the house, etc., but I want leather footwear with low to mid-heels for going out. They add so much to an outfit. I’m always impressed when men wear good leather shoes instead of sneakers, too.
absolutely!! nothing more chic than a pair of beautifully made leather shoes!!!
Yes, please, a video about midi or maxi skirts. I just bought a black satin maxi skirt and need ideas.
yeeey!! happy to see that you like the idea. working on it😊
Your styling is very inspiring - even for a woman of a "certain age!" Thank you!
