A12 means she is set for 1200 baud. A96 means she is set for 9600 baud. If neither of these indicators are showing you are Not "APRS'ing" Albert. EI7II
Do you know if there is a setting to stop the FTM500 from automatic beaconing when the squelch is open on the main band? It is very annoying missing parts of a QSO because APRS decides to becon. I could have sworn the Kenwood TMD700 would not beacon if the main bands squelch was open (Or maybe I did not notice this because I primarily used 70cm.).
@@brenthendricks8182 I too have encountered this exact same problem, and I have not found a way to circumvent it yet. But if I do, there will be a new video.
I bought this radio and I have a problem with APRS commentary. At the end it always shows something like this: _4 ? Do you feel this way too? Is this some kind of software error?
@@HamRadioCrusader Thanks for the information. Write when you find out something. I hoped that the latest software update would help, but unfortunately it's still the same
I have the Kenwood TH-D74. This would make a great APRS partner for that. Now you made me want to buy it. Thanks is a lot 😂
😂😂😂 Glad I could be of service 😉

Thank you for the video, and thanks for the note about the A12 symbol. I often wondered what i meant.

Ciao 73' come fai a rispondere a un messaggio ricevuto con APRS??
The FTM-500 was kinda out of my budget so I went with the FTM-200. My wife still doesn't know 🙃
I’m about to have a FTM-300 For Sale in case you want to upgrade 😂😂😂. I absolutely LOVE the FTM-500 and yes it cost a lot. But I regret nothing 😎
oh man you have to rip the band aid off, and walk right in, and put it on the table, while humming.

I am getting the exact same thing. I will contact Yaesu support to see if I can get an answer.

Have you found a way to lock aprs to 144.390 in the B band? If you bump the vfo you will tx packet on wrong frequency.
I stumbled on a menu setting for this, someday I’ll find it again. I know it’s possible. 73.
It's best to setup APRS on a different frequency to avoid other stations on 144.390. situations arise to do so.
Can't you set use for aprs on the subband ?
Anyone figure out how to do the mars mod on this unit yet?
Yes
