One strategy that is working really well for me is focusing on Growth at the start. Most of the Common and starting weapons have the Growth synergy. And there's a common armor and an uncommon ring that makes it easy to get Synergy 4. It gives you more passive income at every level. I usually ditch them on floor 10.
You keep all the Income they gave you. There are 3 synergies like that I think. Agility, Solid and Growth.

@ohrye if you want to go for the 1.000.000 dmg, i suggest going billionaire, dont spend anything, but to get 4 rich synergy and then hope to get greedy and gods blessing to heal. (i also got defence is best offence, and iron body) i did it on tier 1 thou, first try
