What an epic ride! You guys are really fortunate to have so many trail systems in the region with a good balance of tech, flow, and features. The nomad seems to love it all too!
Love SCST! Lol at 02:39 when you were “cool guy” and pedaled by. That’s awesome you got to ride with a skate legend who’s been such an inspiration to you!
People used to trash talk The Weed Patch in much the same way that Fullerton Loop gets hate. "It's just an XC trail", "Not worth the drive", "It's hot and boring." I've enjoyed it every time I've been, and it usually gets better each time I go. I think with all of the building/TLC it's had in the past few years, (and more people discovering it because of YT,) it's getting more positive attention.
Cab! So Rad! He's recovering from a gnarly MOTOX injury too! That guy is the epitome of age has no boundaries. I skated for Santa Cruz and Dogtown in the late 80's. He's truly an inspiration. Wish I would have stuck with it. MTB doesn't hurt my body as much anymore. Mark Partain is ripping MTB now too! So awesome to see.. s
Next time hit the smaller jump line. Go right next to the dog park on the fire road where the cul-de-sac is (dead end) instead of going up the hill to the corporate area. 100 yards down the fire road you will see a sign and a fire road the runs left to right. Immediately across the fire road there are two trails, one on the left, and one on the right. Take the one on the left and stay on that trail until you get to a Y split. Take the left trail. It's especially fun if you need to build confidence to hit the bigger jump lines. Hope to see you out there!
Hell ya thats whats up great spot did u hit car wreck.. the. Wood. Wall is fun too. I don't think k that one is on car wreck though lol great video keep shredding bro...

Dang Alan, that bike is so stellar looking on the trail. You can't help but gawk of that color, so sweet. Oh and yea, these trails are so blasty and fun looking. I need to head over to CA for some of that! Maybe after the pandemic cools down a little. Great video as usual and appreciate your vibes bro.
Cool to meet your heroes and even better when they turn out to be good guys in person, how old are you? 80’s skater. I skated in the 70’s but I wasn’t very good at it
@@mtb_alan It takes an army & some well timed rain so I cant take much credit, but definitely proud of the flow it has now that there isnt a huge rut to avoid on every chute. I dont get up to Summit very often with my current schedule, but hoping to get another day of park laps in before the US Open.
Hey dude it would be awesome if u could ride sister Elsie very fun jump trail with most of them being around 5-10-15-20 foot gaps with a 30 foot grand daddy

Awesome. Then I think it's def worth a long weekend. Soquel Demo Forest has some legendary trails like Flow and Braille. And if you're will to do a bit of off-menu research and probably get a bit lost, there are some fun trails near the top of the Emma McCrary Trail. Besides that, Santa Cruz is a hella nice town to just hang out in. The downtown is pretty nice, and you gotta stop by the Aptos Street BBQ. Dunno if you know the history of Aptos, but yeah...cool stuff.
The San Clemente Singletracks are the just latest "discovery" from UA-camrs in need of content. Much like Aliso Wood, more people than ever on the trails resulting in groups of people (nice lack of social distancing) waiting to drop in along with deteriorating trail conditions from overuse. The danger here is that the Singletracks aren't really in San Clemente at all as they are on Camp Pendleton property. The base has graciously chosen to not to intervene here with the increasing crowds and trail builders adding some challenging features that saw a rider air-lifted out recently but how long can that last? With more people parking at the dog park and battling for spots on Christianitos with surfers going to Trestles, something has to give eventually.
Don't forget the skatepark and ballfield parking! There's alternate parking at the businesses by the jumpline (street by Glaukos is one) too. Be respectful and lets please keep these trails alive and well!

My first deck back in the 80's was a Powell Peralta Caballero dragon design. Probably somewhere around '86? That takes me back! 🤘
