New subscriber here.... oh my so nostalgic. Thank you Ross for letting me play Warcraft, Dune 2, Worms and more on your parents PC! The music in Warcraft and the atmosphere was incredible. Great video, as always. Warcraft 1 was one of my first games I have ever played too. It was a doozy especially considering I didn't speak English back then :-) Keep up the good work :-)
Congratulations Admiral. Tons of hard work, dedication and strong will payed off. It's always facinating to watch somebody who loves a game do a run of this sort and experiance it in a different way. As from my perspective it is wonderful to watch. I did not know Garona was in this game. I personally know her from the Movie. I can clearly see that this game in perticular was half way between Warhammer Fantasy and It's own persona. It was great to see you again. Wish you the best and I'll be waiting for you'r next endevor.
That's the most impressive video game achievement I've seen in my entire life. Deathless runs are always demanding, but here you also have to struugle with controls and low resolution (limited vision). The only way to top that is propably do Dune2 deathless (You can select only one unit at the time)
One unit at a time seems so ludicrous to a modern audience ahha but they didnt know any better! Same with no right click in warcraft they didnt realize the difference it would make! Thanks for watching and commenting 😁
I haven't played Warcraft: Orcs & Humans in so many years, mostly because getting it to run on modern computers would be a pain in the arse. BUT every time I see footage of it. I am immediately hit with nostalgia from playing it on a windows 95 PC back when I was like 7 or 8 years old.
Ah man, this hits right in the feels! Remember beeing 8-9 years old and seeing the boxes for Warcraft, Dune 2 and C&C beeing amazed and not knowing where to begin 😂
Thanks man! And good luck to you to! Its a wild place here haha and after many years I must have caught the right wind. I have no qualifications to give advice but just keep at it and keep doing what you love! Eventually someone will watch 😀
WC1 Doomhammer after seeing what cause him a casualty in his score in Stormwind: Who the hell are you? Little Sneaky Farm: Who...are...youuu? "The demon's times coming to an end and there isn't a victory screen yet." Little Sneaky Farm: (start laughing) "Hoo-Hoo Ha-ha-ha..." Doomhammer start running to re-load that last save.

Warcraft II was one of the first games I remember playing, as a kid I could beat it without cheating but I've since managed it. I also fell in love with fantasy with the Warcraft series. Warcraft is in my top 3 nerdoms, I've read every book and comic, played all the games and I main a Troll Hunter in WoW (who is now 15 years old) because I loved the Axe Thrower as a kid. I never had Warcraft Orcs and Humans until the released on GoG, was fun playing through it, seeing all the familiar characters and locations that I knew from later.
Seeing where the characters started like Lothar and Khadgar and Guldan was always so cool to watch. Whenever Wow or war3 references war 1-2 I always smile
So from what I understand in Warcraft 1 you cannot go deathless unless you cheez hardcore :D cool video brought back so many memories, waiting for more stuff
Was such a rollercoaster of a video, really great job! Seriously impressed that you managed to pull this off. Definitely excited to see if you try out any other (non-deathless) challenge runs or give Wargus a try!
The first video game I ever played was one of 3: WC1, WC2, or C&C. I have fond memories of watching my dad play all these games but I'm not sure which was my first. What I do know is that WC1 and 2 were childhood defining games for me. I still play WC2 from time to time, thanks GoG! Not even Blizz sells a digital copy of either of these old gems. Funny how not being able to right click to perform actions was a total non-issue when i was 4, and this is primarily the reason why I haven't revisited WC1 for about 15 years now. Anyway, great video. Hit me right in the nostalgia.
Thanks man! I grew up on war 1-2 as well, praise cool dads! Haha playing with the mouse injector is basically mandatory now. Funny with the non issue like when shooters blasted alien resurrection for having left stick be camera and right movement
These are awesome. Dropping a comment to support you can get more! The warcraft 2 humans video popped up in my feed and I’ve instantly subbed and enjoyed watching. I really appreciate the commitment to your own style and like hearing your thoughts on artwork, sprites, mission and game designs, and all of it. As a kid who got this game I don’t think I ever beat the 3rd or 4th missions of either campaign without using cheats. It’s cool seeing it revisited and completed with a more serious challenge at hand. Great work! I wasn’t sure if the orc campaign without healing would be possible.
Oppenheimer truck lol I've never played Warcraft 1 much - compared to bright and colourful Warcraft 2 it was dark, gritty and scary. But this challenge was really fun to watch. Thanks, admiral!
ahhh that makes an insane amount of sense! Thats pretty cool mechanics wise actually I dont think I even did that as a kid haha I just assumed I needed to rescue them
This was also one of the first games I remember playing, possibly the first non-edutainment ACTUAL video game I played. (I too was 3 when I first played it)
It may be janky and nearly unplayable by today's standards but hot dang if I don't still love Warcraft 1 for being what it is. I still to this day get a hankering to go back and play it every once in a while. Thanks for bringing this gem back to the forefront of my UA-cam feed!
I am the same way I come back to it pretty much yearly. I do have some plans to try some challenge run stuff for it like footmen only or grunt only etc so there might be some more war1 content in the future! Thanks for watching
Just found your channel, I really like the deathless content, especially since i never played the old Warcraft rts games before i picked up a used copy of wc3 in high school. For me my earliest gaming memories were probably watching my dad play the original Age of Empires, and then one of the really old i think it was DOS Duke nuke'em games? It looked like something drawn in paint and was a plattformer/metroidvania style of game i believe.
That was amazing! Especially your strategy on the last orc level was very helpful! Its is indeed very hard and exhausting... but it worked in the end 👍 I think you are legit the first one who beat the game deathless ✌
If I am not the first I am at least the first to make a video on it! If i didnt figure out walls I legit dont know how to beat those levels i mean the water el spam alone would have driven me insane
Nice one, bro, I always liked humans more because of the extra range of archers and cleric's healing 😁 This game is an absolute gem, one my first games that I played, even though back then I didn't know how to play nor any English whatsoever
Thanks man! There has been a few people saying they learned english from video games and I think thats so awesome! Its cool the game itself is universal so you dont need to understand to get a grasp on things...the priest looking guy probably heals!
Found your channel by accident, while looking for GiantGrantGames challenges. For once UA-cam algorithm showed me something of quality. Keep up the good work!
From one military vet to another congrats! Might need to chat with you about a sponsorship if you are interested 😁. Your content is the type of stuff we like supporting as a PC company
Wow I cannot belive you actually make it. I know with clerics you propably can do it with humans (but still it will be hard) but damn, the fact you do it with Orcs it's like another level on me. Lol and good video, props for you.
My first video games were sesame street, Freddy the fish, and Warcraft 1. I used to be terrified of the fog of war so I would just stage a big army on the border of the fog and defend against attackers.
pays the bills brother! ah yes! there must be a mod in war3 that has more race diversity like the upcoming chronicles of the second war. I dream of a warhammer fantasy small scale RTS with warcraft mechanics
@@Admiral_Iddy Thanks, the army turned me down so I'm glad there are people out there willing to help, like our healthcare workers as well. Hopefully one day Games Workshop and Activison can bring Warhammer into the Warcraft universe and make Warcraft 4 happen with all the races from both franchises (might leave out the Starcraft and 40K factions for balance reasons).
I don't think a regular run would be as balls-to-the-wall batshit insane difficult as this one was, but yeah, the orc campaign is definitely harder for a multitude of reasons. XD Ironic, because it's the one that's considered "canon" according to Warcraft 2!
Invisibility remains to this day a mechanic that Blizzard tried and never quite could fully balance. Polymorph-bomb wizards in 2, stealth crit Blademasters in 3, Starcraft with burrow ambush and Ghosts/Banshees in 2, there's always something that slips the net. Funnily, Warcraft 1 would be a lot less worrisome in the campaign if you could just attack ground catapults like you can in 2. Nevertheless, thank you for doing it and proving that yes even Warcraft 1 is doable deathless! (and no I'm not counting that snafu in 2 as a death)
Oh yeah everygame its either overpowered or useless, perhaps the night elves nightime cloaking is ok? But in war2 i can accurately say ive used invisibility maybe twice in my life and it was to experiment haha
This was one of the first games I fully completed as a kid. I mostly did it because my dad thought the orc campaign was impossible. The spell imbalance made it incredibly frustrating to play, especially with the spam heal the AI can do.
giving this a rewatch and when you mention the medivh cheese, There's one for lothar too, I dont remember if you have to cheat (which makes the cheese invalid), or if youre giving far sight, but you can heal lothar from your starting location, and with keeping up the heal a bit, he can solo a ogre without being at risk, so he can almost solo the way back. (you can rescue the wounded archers and make it even easier)
Unfortunately you did need to cheat, last i checked your clerics dont get the farsight spell in that level but i have done it with the unlock abilities cheat and its neat ahha too bad you couldnt just cast it into the darkness
Nice job! I've never played the original Warcraft before, but I have played some of the campaign on a warcraft 3 custom campaign designed to emulate it, and it was pretty tough. Catapults were soooo broken! I also learned recently that saving and reloading Warcraft 2 sometimes completely bugs out the AI, so if you do any more challenges with WC2, you might wanna be aware of that. I had no idea before a week ago, so I wanted to share that just in case you didn't know. Congrats on all the new subs, this video was really well made!
Thanks bro that means a lot! Someone else mentioned the AI breakin in war2 ahah I shant shy away from the game making it easier on me, the btdp expansion has me concerned to try haha. Keep at the vids yourself too my dude pretty soon we will both be ballers rocking diamond shoes and laughing at the common folk ;) jkjk but thanks for the comment and keep those vids coming!
Not really viable for a deathless run, but as a kid I discovered a trick for the human final mission. If you cast invisibility on about four knights, you can sneak them into the top-left corner and kill the warlocks there. If I recall correctly, the AI never made any new ones so that meant you don't have to worry about daemons for the rest of the game.
Griselda Blackhand is supposedly mentioned in "Rise of the Horde" according to wiki. But outside a small footnote is a really excellent book that I even forgot about, yeah she got done dirty.
Great video! I was a kid when I played Warcraft 1 (which I got after Warcraft 2, ironically). I also didn't know about pulling up the stats mid-game. Can we get a video/stream for that mod you talked about that ported WC1 over to the other engine? That sounds awesome!
Thanks man! I will preface those vids are OLD and I was a much younger and dumber guy ahha so take the quality and the voice over with a grain of salt :) I might do an updated one at some point
Came back to comment on this again, thanks man! I really, really enjoy your style and Warcraft I, this is like looking back to my early, early childhood and my memories with my dad, first game we played together (he crushed me 1v1, no mercy vs a 4 year old ) Sadly, he passed away when I was 9 in 2000, so I've really treasured these sprites and gamesounds for all my life. The flail is exclusively a cavalry weapon. It's meant for the knight not to break his own arm when making a run-by attack. It's basically useless on foot.
I know it's a silly element, but I really miss being able to build roads and walls. Honestly, it added to the RP and just looked nice. There was also something enjoyable about 1 basing, it kind of looked like an ant hill, with your workers just walking all over the map to bring back resources.

Deathless means no summoning allow since if a summon unit dies due to magic out then hp out it counts as AI kill human would be easy as they have cleric heal but orc would really need macro necrolyte unholy armor.
Also, a small criticism. Your voice seem to cut off a bit too early at the end of sentences at times. I would guess it has to do with noise reduction settings.

It definitely gave me lotr vibes too, I was raised on the Ralph Bakshi lotr cartoon movie too so just seeing orcs n humans fight was just chefs kiss
"You can Cat and Mouse..." Very interesting choice of words there, Admiral! You could say you CATTED your Enemies to death!
I am right there with you, this is some of my best memories playing this with my father.
New subscriber here.... oh my so nostalgic. Thank you Ross for letting me play Warcraft, Dune 2, Worms and more on your parents PC! The music in Warcraft and the atmosphere was incredible. Funny to think how primitive it was back then, 8 angles for sprites, no right-click or attack move. But it worked!
@@walt_man thanks for the support brother! I think i was the ross and showed all my friends how awesome warcraft and starcraft were! These remasters could have been more but they are the best ways to play them right now

Great video, as always. Warcraft 1 was one of my first games I have ever played too. It was a doozy especially considering I didn't speak English back then :-) Keep up the good work :-)
thats so awesome bro! I think it is a testament to game design where you dont need to speak the language to get the gist! Thanks for watching
Your choice of games warms my boomer heart.
7:01 3 attack routes - they can also attack from the north east (just east of the top block of trees). Great vid!

They only used alien dogs in Predators and The Predator movies (like in the red alert games) but never an alien horse.😂
WC1 Doomhammer after seeing what cause him a casualty in his score in Stormwind: Who the hell are you?

Nice video.
I realy like it when you fail and explain why you failed and how you achieved your goal after that, it's like a little movie
That FUN was to watch specially for someone who never played the game.
On the channel success, you've clearly done something the algo likes. Your recent streams/deathless runs came up and its been a good recommendation.
Thanks so much! Im glad people are enjoying my stuff 😁
Thank you for finding the mouse helper. Makes it so easy to play
Dude! Impressive! When I saw this video I was certain that there was no way no how in WarCraft I.
That's incredible! We'll done!
Congratulations on your insane victory, as a Warcraft fan i am very proud of you!
Thanks bro! Im glad I could pull it off, we will see how the expansion to 2 goes now 😬
The first video game I ever played was one of 3: WC1, WC2, or C&C.
@@Admiral_Iddy I didn't know the mouse injector was even a thing until I saw this video. I might be revisiting this soon.
This video showed up on my recommended and is the first of your videos I have seen. Will be Watching the WC2 deathless next.
Thanks man! Super glad people are enjoying my style and take on things 😊 I had no idea there were so many likeminded warcraft fans out there!
Thank you for the video. I also joined the Livestream but I saw you playing the Orc campaign. So far, I have seen the Human campaign,...
Beyond the dark portal War2 next?

I feel really lucky so far the response has been all kindness! Hopefully it will stay positive 😂
Can't wait for warcraft two expansion deathless
Oppenheimer truck lol
I've never played Warcraft 1 much - compared to bright and colourful Warcraft 2 it was dark, gritty and scary. But this challenge was really fun to watch.
Thanks, admiral!
I love war2 and 3 but I have to admit the dark and gritty world of War1 was way more appealing, kind of wish they kept that vibe, like diablo 1!
This is a fun series you got my Candaian Brother. God Bless you and your family in Newfoundland :)
I believe that the purpose of the peon prisoners, in Northshire Abbey, was to be meat shield for your spear throwers, and then resurrected as undead.
ahhh that makes an insane amount of sense! Thats pretty cool mechanics wise actually I dont think I even did that as a kid haha I just assumed I needed to rescue them
@@Admiral_Iddy You gotta start thinking like an Orc! lol
Man this bring back memories I was in elementary school the last time I played this game now I kinda want to play it again
Gog.com has them in a combo pack for decently cheap but you could always go to war2 combat i think its free but is a bit janky
@@snelhestarna age of empires is a classic too! Glad you enjoy the channel! Feel free to pop into the stream sometime!
That was amazing!
Especially your strategy on the last orc level was very helpful! Its is indeed very hard and exhausting... but it worked in the end

I think you are legit the first one who beat the game deathless ✌
If I am not the first I am at least the first to make a video on it! If i didnt figure out walls I legit dont know how to beat those levels i mean the water el spam alone would have driven me insane
Nice one, bro, I always liked humans more because of the extra range of archers and cleric's healing 😁
This game is an absolute gem, one my first games that I played, even though back then I didn't know how to play nor any English whatsoever
Thanks man! There has been a few people saying they learned english from video games and I think thats so awesome! Its cool the game itself is universal so you dont need to understand to get a grasp on things...the priest looking guy probably heals!

Thanks! To be even compared or algorithmed to him is so awesome. He has some major talent 😄
an awesome blast from the past !
Dude I think this was the first game I ever played too, also watching my dad play from my little computer-side stool. It was either this or Civ II.
ooh Ive never actually played the civ games before, revolution for the 360 I wonder how they aged

Thanks man! I will admit I had my doubts with the orcs but once I got that wall strat down I got pretty hype :)
My first video games were sesame street, Freddy the fish, and Warcraft 1. I used to be terrified of the fog of war so I would just stage a big army on the border of the fog and defend against attackers.
Ah the time honoured "WTF IS THE GOLDMINE " gameplay

I hope you're having a nice day (and thank you for your service), I read somewhere that the Riflemen in Warcraft III were dwarfs.
pays the bills brother! ah yes! there must be a mod in war3 that has more race diversity like the upcoming chronicles of the second war.
Dear god, I had no idea that the orcs have such hard odds against them
For the race that lorewise makes them to be super badass fighty invaders they sure do work at a disadvantage :P
I don't think a regular run would be as balls-to-the-wall batshit insane difficult as this one was, but yeah, the orc campaign is definitely harder for a multitude of reasons. XD
Ironic, because it's the one that's considered "canon" according to Warcraft 2!
Yet another great video, we really need more of these videos, loved to see a red alert 2 one!
Psyminette does a red alert 2 vid thats really awesome! I recommend checking him out he does most of the cnc games 😁
I will cheer for the possibility of Deathless Beyond the Dark Portal.
Because my memories make it seem impossible
Yes I did. Some time ago. Fighting demons was tough to pull it off with but I believe I did it.
Thatd be a good strat for playing casually! Ill have to test that out
Well I just found the video to watch while eating lunch!
Griselda Blackhand is supposedly mentioned in "Rise of the Horde" according to wiki.
But outside a small footnote is a really excellent book that I even forgot about, yeah she got done dirty.
Oh wow! Rise of the horde i forgot there are so many novels and stuff about the world
I always remembered wc1 not having the feature of selecting multiple units at once, always thought its limited to one unit
I believe the original dune games are like this, but this one was tricky you had to hold ctrl and drag for box selection or hold shift
Great video! I was a kid when I played Warcraft 1 (which I got after Warcraft 2, ironically). I also didn't know about pulling up the stats mid-game. Can we get a video/stream for that mod you talked about that ported WC1 over to the other engine? That sounds awesome!
Absolutely! I played with it the other night and its WILD like they added guard towers! I will def stream it at some point

Elementals are exactly as absurd as I remember them!
The flail is exclusively a cavalry weapon. It's meant for the knight not to break his own arm when making a run-by attack. It's basically useless on foot.
Looks like warcraft is more historical than i thought! Minus the nuclear catapults and magic 😂
Good to know, guess I should stop giving my Icewind Dale clerics flail proficiency, if it makes little sense on foot.
This was incredable tho! Very nice playing!
I know it's a silly element, but I really miss being able to build roads and walls. Honestly, it added to the RP and just looked nice. There was also something enjoyable about 1 basing, it kind of looked like an ant hill, with your workers just walking all over the map to bring back resources.
I was always a fan of fancy bases moreso than practicality haha age of empires id build neighbourhoods and symmentrical cities, only to get obliterated by the enemy lol!
You good sir have stirred up so much nostalgia in me! I found your channel when you did war 2 deathless. This one is great! Do you have plane for other classic rts games like c&c or age of empires? War craft and command abd conquer were my favorites when I was younger.

We played at my house, like 5+ 1st graders, and me cheating the campaign, the rest of the plebs usually just watching over my shoulders - lol // My first Warcraft experience was the demo of Wc II, though. After that Wc1 full version. I played what my older brother bought through "Bestseller Games"-magazines, mostly. Stuff like Dungeon Master: Legend of Skullkeep, Might and Magic III + IV/V, Monkey Island I + II and so many more classics
thats awesome! I didnt grasp the glory that was LAN parties until my teens, never played the might n magic games but I hear they are classics as well. I remember seeing them in my schools Scholastic Book Order Magazines where sometimes they had pc games and costumes that you bought during school
LAN parties in my teens too, like 11/12+, but Warcraft was like everybody sitting behind me and me playing, haha I played both, Heroes of Might and Magic and the original MM
@@Admiral_Iddy
Deathless means no summoning allow since if a summon unit dies due to magic out then hp out it counts as AI kill human would be easy as they have cleric heal but orc would really need macro necrolyte unholy armor.
Also, a small criticism. Your voice seem to cut off a bit too early at the end of sentences at times. I would guess it has to do with noise reduction settings.
