- Change performing at the Italian TV show "Discoring" in 1980.
With: Davide Romani on bass, Paolo Gianolio on guitar, Rudy Trevisi on electric piano, Lele Melotti on drums and Luca Orioli on keyboards; the producer and arranger Mauro Malavasi does not appear in this performance.
These were the original musicians (The Goody Music Orchestra) who recorded the first Change album "The Glow Of Love" at Fonoprint Studios in Bologna.
The singers/dancers were stand-ins for the American/Guadalupa (?) session artists.
Whose vocals had been recorded at Media Sound Studios in NYC (Luther Vandross!).
In fact Change was just a studio concept at that time, not a real band yet.

This is such an interesting artifact. Thank you for sharing!
Eleganza, canzoni con una vera trama e adesso navigo nei ricordi!
Grupazo.
what a classic
Great memories.
What in dah hell.....who's these folks😂😂😂
A spot in the change major project. Where is Luther W?
Ok this is too funny ! OMG. This is not them. This is some kind of fake group. Back then during this time I was hanging with them. My Boyfriend was James Crabb Robinson who was the bassist and often lead singer of the group. Not one of these persons here ( with the exception of the keyboardist) is a member of the group. Also Luther Vandross,, before he became the Luther we all love and care for , is the lead vocalist of The Glow Of Love.
Not to challenge you. Just a question. I bought the original album when it first came out. And i distinctly remember the bassist on the credits as Davide Romani. Maybe you could explain. I am just a big fan.
Yikes! 🤔🙄🎶🎸
What in the Milli Vanilli?!!! Lol 😆 I HEAR Luther Vandross but he is NOWHERE to be seen in this clip! They really tried it!!😂👎
that exactly my issue...what is this really all about?
I heard Change was launched in Italy, so for an Italian audience, of the time, any African American will do. Also Luther wasn't famous yet.
All what you say is beside the fact that the voice on this video is Luther Vandross.
I don’t get it ? Luther Vandross sung for Change. An Italian group. He also sung for Greg Diamond. Of Bionic Boogie - baddest cut you ever heard called Chains.
But I had no idea this was was done. Amy way. He carry lead vocals and Jocelyn Brown is back up
Everything else his dream team always included Cissy Houston a reg powerhouse and the rest of the gang
Luther was a session singer. He backed C. Khan Aretha on and in
However this launched his breakout career solo. Artist and it wasn’t this song it the first one played in the famous quiet storm radio sessions. And then there he was. Passed away. Netting 40 million worth of pre eminent of out century.
May he rest in peace. By the way despite the rumor. There isn’t a single drop of evidence that links him to being gay. Not none. No aid hiv hepatitis nothing at all. I believe he was basically single may have had an Infiniti toward but he would have never ever. Do you understand have done this because of the love he had for his mommy Believe me. I know the type.
Luther channel all that into the music and that’s what made the Genius who was his artistry. He sung about love. He yearned for.
Amen
Obviously lip synching.
Milli Vanilli"s parents
Chi è che ha sparato sta gigantesca cazzata
Lol 😆
🤣🤣🤣
Why do they do an intro in the middle of the song ! They are not Change anyway....
There is no Luther Vandross in this video!
If that is Luther Vandross, which it isn't, I need his diet! Typical of early Malavsi/Petrus stable, totally different session singers and performers. At least their stint with the Ritchie Family was genuine!!!!
If someone knows Luther Vandross knows who is singing here..listen please ... fake Change back then luther looks totally different
Grazie di avermi citato;) Robby
That's Luther's voice
JESIS CHRIST THE I TRO SOUND IS SO LOUD
That is not change!
🤣 check out the cello player & French horn
Luther?
No, that's not Luther on stage.
nao e o lutther vandross!!
I finally understand the definition of the group name after seeing this catastrophy they should change it to Faker 🤦🏾♂️
wOw
Stop the B S you know better! Ha ha ha 😂
@@jieronbaltazar1972 I don't know what that was about it was some B S from back in the day not CHANGE at all. Rick Brennan GOD knows that the Devil is a liar! 333.
@@jieronbaltazar1972 know we did not not to 1984 in the U K .
@@jieronbaltazar1972 All of that! Ha ha ha. Rick Brennan
Can't talk about this anymore Bro 333.
@@jieronbaltazar1972 You are funny Bro. 😄 see 👀 you !
This the worst lip syncing I have ever seen!
LMAO by all means get triggered and make a huge comment w/out reading the description. hahahah
WTH??! OK, they are "stand-ins" and that would be okay if it really was live but it's not, it's just the original recorded track from the album and the minute this dude starts lip syncing to LUTHER's vocal I am turned off. This would not matter if the lead singer on a track was not that well known but here we have a "stand-in" who is lip syncing to the voice of a SUPERSTAR. Luther Vandross fans, of which I am as well, will not be pleased. I assume you are just posting this for the sake of nostalgia but sometimes every video does not need to be posted; this one should've been left in the can as it assumes the audience are idiots.
These guys in the video are the original Italian backing band / studio band Change. Davide Romani on bass, Rudy Trevisi (sax) on piano, Lele Melotti on drums. Only Luther is not present.
Who is this guy? And why is lip sinqing Luther Vandross?🤣😕
Wow. Luther sure looks different here…is he incognito? 🥸 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 This is funny as…
