The BEST Tornado Chase Ever!!

- On May 12th, 2023, I chased the craziest tornado I've ever seen near Spalding, NE. This monster, wedge tornado tracked across The Sandhills of Nebraska, providing me with a rare opportunity to get close to this powerful tornado.

"That was a twister, and it was twisting" 😂😂😂 scientific explanation right there
bro like we didn't know 🤣
this is incredible footage. that aerial shot was both beautiful and terrifying
That was filmed by Jordan Hall: ua-cam.com/video/rvvkLRIpG3E/v-deo.html
at the end when you see the dominator anchoring down to the ground, two cars drive straight into the tornado.. do you think they made it?
Was that shot his own shot?
This helps me get over my fear the tornado is pretty too
👇
thats what im saying, they drove straight into it@@COUNTERstrikelord60
Those other cars in the team dominator really played it risky, they drived on the outer edge of the tornado!
Like the dim was better but like those other cars Jeeez
I think (if I’m remembering right) they got into the rain wrapped area of the tornado, which was amazing to watch on their channel
Reed has been a severe weather expert for over 15 years.. he knows where to and where not to put his team so they can observe a tornado.. trust me, that’s the last guy that would get you killed or hurt on a storm chase.. that being said there are incidents which are just completely out of your control.. like the El Reno tornado in 2013 which killed the Twistex team.. that’s also the widest tornado in history at 2.7 miles..
@suicune8576 Yea I know. It's still impressive how close they got.
They weren't with Reed
The calm and collective frequency you stick with in these moments is the best part. Excellent content.
The contrast of the blue sky/cumulus clouds/Tornado is really something....
Imagine getting an intercept so good it's the highlight of tons of other people's videos
You're gonna end up with a lot of subs, your content is top tier. Bravo 👏🏼
People like me love sum toe nay doze 😂👍
@@jeremeerxleben6671Bro got me😂
Me too!!😂
One of the best weather videos I've watched in a while!!
I heard this moment ( 6:39 ) in a different chaser's video a few days ago & immediately thought, "ooo I can't wait until Freddy uploads!" I'll tell you, it was worth the wait! Thank you for the time & care that you put into your videos to make them educational & such a great experience for us.
Thank you! That was Max and Adri. It was great being able to share the moment with them. Glad you’re enjoying the content!

I won't be satisfied until I see first-person footage of a storm chaser parachuting into the center of a tornado.
I always love seeing when you run into Reed. It's fun to watch chasers converge like that.
You went through my home town of Spalding. I'm glad you were safe and got to see what you were going after! Great job!
Badass is it not :)
Well I hope youre okay!

Wow, you had an awesome view of the initial tornado from the north! You passed us at 4:33 in the silver Rav 4. We had started down south of Spalding and watched the initial rope thinking that was the main tornado. We then went up the same dirt road into Spaling and cut west of 91. Great Footage! -Andrew SPC
Wow what a beautiful tornado. And the way the sunshine sky opened up behind the dark tornado to reveal sunny skies. So wild.
Absolutely legendary. Incredible work yet again man! 🐐
🐐🐐🐐🐐
Did you see those 2 cars that passed Reed just as the Tornado was passing over them? They JUST squeaked by. Crazy!
You got some nice footage too!
That drone footage.....is....simply.....mesmerizing!!!
I am convinced that the most dangerous part of storm chasing are the other idiot chasers who can't drive.
The tornado chasers take a dangerous job
Besides the stunning footage on the ground; seeing drone shots become more common is amazing to see! Incredible videos
just your average slight risk day! what a crazy year, we're lucky a lot of these tornadoes have been so rural! Amazing footage man!!
Photogenic and the Dominator sat right in the middle of it. Great job!
NEXT LEVEL! Absolutely incredible in all facets. what a year!!! 😮
That's some of the best footage I've seen of this tornado! I was watching Reed's livestream when they intercepted it. I really want to know if the 2 cars that passed the dominator right before it was swallowed by that thing are chasers. If they are, I really want to see their footage! If they're not chasers then what in the hell were they thinking!
I was thinking the same thing.

Can you just take a minute to appreciate this man putting his life to risk for us, in order to get a good shot of a tornado
He's not putting his life at risk for us. He's doing it out of curiosity and a desire for financial gain.
@@dilldowschwagginz2674 oh my bad😅😅
I Love your videos and you kinda remind me Pecos Hank and his gorgeous video footage and incredible photography. You have obviously learned a lot from the years you've spent storm chasing with your father from an young age. Keep up your amazing work and gorgeous videos while also staying safe. Not everyone can afford to build a dominator style vehicle that can withstand closer contact with a tornado. Even Reed and his team have suffered damage to their vehicles because nothing is completely tornado proof.
Yes, the skills must be patiently learned. Years of trial and error finally begin to pay off. Thanks!
One of the best storm chasing videos I’ve watched
6:58 the cleanest timelapse of a tornado's lifespan I've ever seen!
The best part is that it was just ripping through a field
It really doesn’t get much better than that! Wowza
It's amazing that even the scariest things in nature can have beauty if given the right scenery. Excellent footage!
Incredible work @Freddy McKinney! Keep it up!
The perfect tornado! Big, powerful looking but didn't hurt anyone. Great footage!
I’d definitely agree that that was the best tornado footage I’ve ever seen. So clear. No rain wrap. With the sun shining on it and everything. GORGEOUS. Congrats dude!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 That day where there were a ton of tornadoes spawning all around me besides the little protective dome I was in was insane lol.
Glad I subscribed, this is great!
Cool seeing dom three there, but those other two cars are like suicidal, drove straight into the tornado...
Absolutely beautiful tornado. So glad it didn't hit anything residential. The video by Dr. Timmer and Team Dominator was an awesome watch, as well.
Love hearing the excitement in chasers voices when they finally catch one on the ground.
Good quality, not dramatic. professional
the size was super massive keep it up!
I can’t believe how sunny it is while you guys are like right next to a tornado (~ 6:54)! I feel like I can easily see the storm vortex & updraft structure and picture the “hook echo” as it would appear on radar. Such a good shot!!!
1:28 Damn, you can actually see the hook in the clouds really clear right here.
That’s crazy at 4:25, seeing the blue skies above the tornado 🌪️ 😂
Wish I could ride along with you guys this is amazing
It always amazes to see clear blue skies are tornados.
There are clear blue skies permanently above all clouds, tornadoes do not form from clear blue skies.
Man, that footage at 4:24 is truly incredible. Can see exactly what’s happening within the clouds, the rotation is amazing. Solid work team.
That drone shot was sick! Nobody ever gets to see footage of a tornado like that.
Beautiful and terrifying shots as always! Best storm chasing channel on UA-cam this year!!
Nah that moment when the dominator shows up 💀
Damn that is a thick tornado I have been in one but never like that
What an incredibly beautiful photogenic twister! One of the best I’ve seen on here in a while! Congrats on the great footage and keep Chasin’!! 👌🏻🌪️
This chase is pure insane! Great job!
Thats definitely a crazy tornado, and I think it was going fast too.
That was an Awesom intercept!!!
Amazing shots! Great job.
Holy crap- the number of civilians stuck on the road as it comes barreling across. I was so scared for them
I’m a new subscriber recommended by none other than Ryan Hall Y’all this is absolutely amazing footage keep up the great work man and Never Stop Chasing 🌪️🚨🙏🏼❤️!!!!
That was a beautiful twister! Awesome camera and editing work!. 10/10
Cool tornado
Tornado big
Nice work, excellent video!
Awesome footage. Great Video
Great footage, absolutely beautiful tornado!
I watched Reed intercept live. Great video
I really enjoyed your videos Freddy, I'm Brazilian and I've never seen a tornado, but I've always been interested in the subject and watching your content gives me a little feel for how this phenomenon is so powerful! Congratulations, I'm still watching your channel.
5:32 bonehead move by the grey SUV...hitting the brakes after that merge almost causing accident.
Amazing, beutiful wedge
Wow! That was absolutely brilliant! The sun is shining, then a wedge tornado and heavy rain after it dissipates. What an incredible footage!
Great vid bro!.. Jordan and Reed also!.. epic. congrats 👍
your videos are fantastic! I follow you from Italy😁
I love that drone shot
WOW 1 MILLION VIEWERS!
Subscribed. Great production quality.
I have more respect with the fact that you did this "alone" (like no one else in the car with you) i could never do that bro
Great video Freddy! ❤❤ You just got my sub. TY for all the awesome chases you go on.
That tornado was absolutely beautiful
4:54 Looks like the cow from twister lol
I’ve never actually seen a tornado go back up. Really cool vid.
Nice footage bro💪😀👍🇺🇸
Sure looks to be at least an EF4, wedge tornado!
Really cool to see that rare westward track
Probably the most beautiful tornado video I’ve seen, and I’ve seen a lot
That dominator came out of no where
Man, I've lived in kansas since 79 and have yet to see a tornado first hand
Oh means you are very old man

Great video, except at 5:20, thanks for sharing!
This is excellent.
Awesome video 😊😊
Subbed at 21.6k. Can’t wait to see this guy blow up very soon!
This is some EPIC footage. You stayed on top of it. The final few minutes of footage was beautiful. Great catch
That Timelapse was amazing
This Is Interesting to me because my country has had hardly any tornadoes ever
AMAZING!!!
Came here from ryan hall yall! Amazing work! Do you work with reed timmer? If so thats amazing. Hes an amazing chaser and meteorologist
THAT WAS INCREDIBLE THE DEFINITION OF AN EF5!!!
Yeah it only got an ef2, dom would have been lifted
There's more of looking at the driver in the tank than getting a good look at the tornado.
omg man so glad I subbed few months back.. that shot with the clear skies at 2:15 is epic. Had to add another one at 2:57 absolutely eerie shot.
Remarkable footage, my goodness. Whew, what a ride.
Remember us that subscribed before you got big 🤣🤣🤣
I was wondering what happened to those two vehicles who passed reed when reed intercepted. I can't believe that you guys got out of that just by seconds. I mean if you guys were the ones who passed him. If not let me know cause its been nagging at me for days.
Great work!
