- On June 23rd, 2023 I chased a dangerous tornado near Hawk Springs, Wyoming. As the tornado crossed the highway in front of me, a semi gets caught in the circulation is thrown across the highway

Was on Reeds live that CRAZY day! Thank You guys for what you do at all times! No doubt saving lives! Whether in alerting towns or being first on seen etc, y'all are so important to folks affected by severe weather! 🌪 🌀
I bet you were 😂
I ate reed- (jk)
It's always amazing to see storm chasers saving people. They do what they do not just for the thrill, but to keep people safe and informed. I'll never forget how Reed was the one who found Bettes after the El Reno tornado and got him the help he needed.
what video was this i just found this channel
@@tomispandacuddle I don't think that this was broadcasted by Reed, it was back in 2013. The story has been relayed by Bettes before though, if I remember correctly!
We are usually the first ones on scene before emergency services. Chase always stops when someone is hurt.
@@Tidestrider it was posted on reeds channel. It was the second season of Tornado Chasers
well a dying family or freaking out guy doing his job gets good views and good money.
That was intense, I really like storm chasers because most, if not all, always help those in need, and this was incredible footage too!
Yeah I was thinking hard hats or even football helmets to block the ones coming in from the side
Exactly! I also love how storm chasers always call the weather channel to tell when a twister touched down!
@@lukemahan7683 doesnt help sadly...i was in italy during the huge hailstorm this summer and we dont get them alot in europe, twas like cannonballs coming down...people just got decked even when hit on their shoulders
There are people whose jobs are to respond to situations like this. If this guy ever needs the help of emergency services for himself, because of his motivation for storm chasing, his presence makes him a liability to emergency responders and endangers every local resident and person on the road.
@@Claire_eq311 We call the NWS & police. When a trained storm chaser like me calls, it triggers the EAS in less than 3 minutes usually (tornado warning on your phone & radios like at 6:50,) & the sirens. If we see someone hurt the chase stops. People come first before the chase does.
This is insane footage! Glad you and Reed were safe and the trucker
Appreciate you Justin!! That was a difficult situation to be in.
@FreddyMcKinney I can imagine....Hopefully by next season to see you and your dad again out on the chase

"Yad He Vav He" is what Moshe (Moses) wrote, when Moses asked YaH His Name (Exodus 3)

Yad - "Behold The Hand"
He - "Behold the Breath"
Vav - "Behold The NAIL"
@@FreddyMcKinney I'm so confused about something - when the semi flipped, wasn't there at least one police car stopped right there, in full view of it? Where did they go? Did they just leave and abandon the poor truck driver?? Thank goodness he & you & Reed were all safe!
Incredible stuff as always Freddy! Huge props to you for stopping and helping that trucker!
Appreciate you Charlie! Great work on your recent videos keep it up!
Wish all safe travels...you are helping other people...that something we appreciate it 🏅
Reed is such a G. Already in there helping the trucker as soon as the tornado passed. Amazing footage and work, you two!
W name lol
Glad you & Reed were able to help this trucker. He's very lucky. I was watching that live stream from Reed's car when it happened.
Our job as chasers is to get the warnings out. We don't just do it for fun.
Here's how it works: if one of us spots a tornado we call the NWS. They then verify our call sign/SKYWARN id/spotter id. From there we tell them what is going on & then the EAS & Sirens are triggered very fast usually less than 3 minutes. We are responsible for bringing you the warnings on your phones/radios. If the NWS issues a tornado warning it's nearly always because of one of us having eyes on it. If they issue a tornado warning based on radar we will rapidly respond & investigate then report back whether there's a tornado or not. If one gets confirmed it triggers a PDS (particularly dangerous situation) then emergency services are deployed.
Thank you chasers for what you do 🙏🏻❤️
This is really educational, Thank you for helping us all. I really didn’t know storm chasers held so much responsibility as yall literally puts y’all’s life on the line
@@Cadyyy768 Trained storm chasers for the National Weather Service hold a major responsibility to protect people and get warning out. Only about 300,000 storm chasers in the entire United States are legitimately trained and trusted for sure by the NWS compared to hundreds of thousands who will chase as a hobby. Trained storm chasers are capable of self forecasting and pinpointing exactly where and when a storm is likely to happen days to even a week before it occurs using models instead of news. None of what we do is easy, and we are responsible for protecting everyone we can from storms. I have this responsibility every day. I just happen to be one of them, and I will chase personally for the NWS in Texas.
Thank you for this! I honestly had no idea.

@gtbproductions1 I can’t tell if this is sarcasm or not
I love how the guy at 3:05 sees the tornado, turns around, and slams on the gas.
"Guess no groceries this week"
BRO I THOUGHT THE SAME THING LOL!!
Bro obviously didn't check the weather
he didn't even slam on the gas though. he slammed the brakes after turning around XD
Valid reaction to be honest i wouldve done the same thing
That's awesome! Also really cool that you ended up right next to Reed.
It always amazes me to see tornado footage like this combined with big swaths of blue sky!
I agree. It's amazing how in one place it's a pretty blue sky, but just a few miles away, all hell is breaking loose.
VERY grateful you guys came out there and helped this kind dude from the storm! You guys do incredible work surveying the destruction and getting the information of the formats of when and where the tornado (tornadoes) were coming from and I'm sure the truck-driver was thankful and NOT being rude to you guys. God bless everyone!
that was a miracle to be in your video thank you for helping!
This was an amazing video of that day. We did not know at first you were the one with Reed helping this man. So proud of you both! Congrats on being a great storm chaser and a caring person.
Watching this live was wild. And seeing it from both yours and Reed's perspectives was interesting. Thank you again for your incredible work and for your care for others. True gentleman! ❤🎉
😢🎉🎉🎉🎉
An absolutely amazing video Freddy, congratulations! Making Nebraska proud! Easily one of the absolute best chaser videos of the year!!
I saw this on Reeds stream. Thanks for helping that trucker! You guys are awesome!
Raising the bar in every way, amazing work Freddy!

Very serious, intense video with likewise music, then suddenly freddy goes “ITS A HUGE CINNAMON BUN” and I snorted… 7:42
2:13 That's so ominous.
I saw Reeds video but it's so awesome to see it from another angle! I bet it was cool to see Reed Timmer!
Good job on you guys saving that trucker!!
Reed is not a god. He's a guy just like the rest and they all know one another. He's definitely a veteran, but it's not Freddy's first time crossing paths with him.
That was crazy when the powerlines came down. Ive never seen footage in that quality before with powerlines goinf one after another.
So impressed with the footage and the professional way this young man and his partner conducted themselves. No bad language just observation and a cool head. Need more like you and your team. So glad you were all safe and hope the trucker is OK. God bless and stay safe.
I remember watching this!!!! You guys are amazing for helping him and others!!! ❤
Bro this deserves more views , this is viral , all the hard work for just 2 mans spotting tornados!
Wow Freddy! I enjoyed that slick production. I was actually watching Reed's live stream and saw you dart in. I just subscribed to your channel, and said - is that Freddy?! Great job, for this and dropping everything to help that guy 👍
@Mads_333 your welcome. Freddy is great, not a showy guy. You can tell he's raised up right. been watching his lives and John's.
Thank you for joining!!🎉
I was a few hundred yards south of you, with the RFD behind me and tornado in front of me. I saw the power flashes and truck roll over. That baseball hail was pelting my vehicle (I have hail guards). This day was insane.
This is proof that there still love in the world ❤❤
Great job, awesome camera work! I have seen Dr. Timmer’s footage. It was cool to see another angle.
Thank you Freddy and Reed💯💪👍🌪️
Thank you man... for stopping to help other's. Thats something we appreciate 🏅👍🏻💯 keep it up be safe 🏅
Great work. Especially helping the trucker!
John ❤😊
I love it how he looks so calm in the beginning when he sees the tornado I would be crying if I was him
Recently got into watching ghost videos again.., but when you see ghost videos and things getting tossed around, you still have this sense of "Oh that is fake or just some trick to fool me" but these natural phenomenons are so real and yet so invisible to the untrained eye. This semi truck didn't even know what hit him.
Wow what an amazing chase! It was extremely nice of you to help that trucker.
...
The "IT'S A CINNAMON BUN!!" comment really got me lol
It was wise of you to hang back a good distance. That's the only reason you were able to see it before anyone else. Those people were so close to it, and didn't even realise it until it was practically on top of them.
Seeing Reed there is just crazy because he is a legend and he is humble enough to stop and help the trucker when he could be intercepting the tornado
I was watching you that day and it was INSANE! It was great that you and Reed helped that dude! Glad everyone got out of it ok. Never stop chasing! You are awesome!
Thank God, you guys are OK that looks humongous and that poor guy that got flipped it in the truck. Wow man.
7:48 got me dying
I never thought there were "cinnamon bun" or "elephant trunk" type tornadoes 😆
Freddy that was fantastic! God has been using you mightily while you chase! So proud of you my friend. 😊
Thanks so much Dianne!! You're awesome!
7:59 I know it’s not funny but a huge cinnamon bun 😂 has me laughing
Why did the tornado cross the road….to destroy the other side
"IT'S A HUGE CINNAMON BUN" 7:48
That gave me a heart attack 6:46
I just so appreciate how storm chasers like you risk your lives to save others! Salute!!
the fact that trucker came out of that with minor injuries and u guys threw yourselves into natures forces when it easily could of severely injired u

Excellent Work, Thank You
This was very interesting, and intense as everyone said! I really enjoy watching this, you even helped a guy in semi! Bravo. 👏🏻
This is the first but not the last of your videos I've watched. Im 72 years old, live pretty much in Tornado Alley and have never seen a tornado in person so I watch these videos to learn and be prepared. But that is not the reason I'm making this comment. I'm commenting because it is so refreshing to see someone, especially a young person such as yourself, produce exciting content with great narration without having to bleep every third word. or in the case of so many others, NOT bleep anything. I can blast with the best of them if necessary, it's just that I very rarely feel it necessary and it is so tiring to try and watch an otherwise exciting video with every profanity available thrown in the mix. Keep up the good work.
Very nice comment! I hope you have a great day sir!
Wow Freddy, this is great! I remember watching this on stream too!
Is that normal for a tornado to rope out from cloud down? Ive seen many do it starting at ground but that was crazy watching the circulation disappear at cloud first.
I think it just formed and dragged the cloud down, I saw that a few seconds later the ground under it had dirt flying up.
Drove through Scottsbluff earlier this month on my way to Kansas. Crazy to see that a tornado was there just a few months prior. That would explain the hail damaged cars I saw in town too.
I used to live in Kansas,,,,,,why would anyone want to go to Kansas?!
@@alwenke212 Moved here short term for college. Was not my first choice but that is where I ended up.
7:49 "It's a huge cinnamon roll!!!!" You could have called anything else😂
Talk about suspense! Wow! Glad the guy is OK.
you and Connor did great on this chase thank you beautiful tornado
Absolutely incredible footage as always
Thanks bro one of this years we gotta meet up 😂
I don’t think people realise how big tornadoes are like just imagine a human next to one
Or that just because you can’t see a dark portion on the ground doesn’t mean there isn’t dangerous winds
Great video Freddy........you get closer than almost anyone it seems. Be careful and we will be here watching.
I like your style of capturing the footage and clean editing, wish I could be like a storm chaser like you.
That’s why you invest in the real cameras, everyone uses their phone but you just don’t get the clarity for the long shots
Oh man what a dream, taking cover behind a flipped semi with Reed 😂

Daytime tornados are always so interesting to me because the background always looks so peaceful and serene.
Tornado be like: ready freddy? 😂
You and Reed are good guys to srop and help the trucker who in turn help shield yall from the hail. Hope he wasnt injured and all ended well for him. What a story for him to tell.
I was watching Reed LIVE that day, and saw him running towards the truck with the circulation in the background. And then I saw a second chaser (turned out to be you) join him! Still one of the more unbelievable sights I've seen.
Thank you guys for choosing to help the semi driver. There are so many other chasers who are so focused on chasing, they ignore the ones in need and continue chasing.
The pros will always stop the chase to help no matter how big or how small the situation.
Whats with the Police at 3:36? They saw the Truck flip infront of them and drove away?
This is why I respect Reed Timmer and Freddy sooooooooooooooooo much. The truly want to help others.
Awesome video!
You guys are amazing human beings. The true embodiment of what storm chasing is about. ❤
Around 5:37 the dude says i am going to stay in here NEVER do that if you are gonna do anything get out of the truck and get into a ditch that is the safest thing to do no matter what it is safer to get hit with hail then get tossed around in a big truck with glass
I could fr watch this dude storm chase all day and not get board these are like the best storm chasing vids I’ve seen in a while
“yep” bro does not care
watching this with a big thunderstorm outside is adding some nice additional ambience. Also, crazy video. I am happy to watch this from thousands of kilometres aways
2:00 For some reason, the car bumping and then a heavy rain sound made me remember something that was deep in my mind.
