- Franco Columbu's book although not as extensive as Arnold's Encyclopedia of Bodybuilding, is a pretty good book on the subject. I enjoy certain sections that are rarely touched by other bodybuilding authors, such as injury prevention and treatment, detailed nutritional information and steroid usage and contraindications. Along with some awesome vintage photos, it's a pleasure to read. Enjoy
You gotta admire the fact that he has a section on steroids and that he admitted to taking them,.
Steven Serial I take my hat down to him
@@GoldenEraBookworm He didn't recommend doing deadlift for bodybuilding, because he realized later that it's not necessary for bodybuilding and can be dangerous.
Real old school training and effective, bought this back in the early 80’s and always a go to book, RIP Franco, you are a legend 👍🏼
Thank you for taking the time to review this book. This definitely informed me enough on the book and I will purchase it now.
Great job on the video thanks 👍
Meanwhile he did so much dianabol and deca that he was the first Olympia contestant to have gynocamastia.
That's probably true
I remember Ric Drasin talking about how Arnold would give him the same injection amount of Primabolin as he was taking- Arnold was 6 foot 2 and Franco was 5 foot 3...

trt is could be 200 for a 5’5 guy and 140 for a 6’6 guy.
Hi golden era !!! Love the stuff your doing awesome channel. Had a quick question, if you could only pick 5 of the books you have on the golden era of bodybuilding what would they be? Thanks again for the channel.
joey carmona it depends on the level you are at and the questions you seek. The subject is too vast. I have a list I would recommend to the pure beginner for example, another for intermediate and another for advanced...I am doing a video on this shortly
Very well said, maybe your top book in all three levels?
joey carmona for absolute never touched a weight in my life beginners I recommend Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe and Stuart McRobbert's books Beyond Brawn and Weightlifting tell all handbook. Intermediate and advanced levels is hard to say, as there are too many books on different topics. But up there would be The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding by Arnold and Keys to the Inner Universe by Bill Pearl

If you’re against steroids then why are all your reviews on body builders who took steroids you should do reviews on natural bodybuilding
sam kaderb just because I am personally against at the use of steroids it does not mean that I will exclude the bodybuilders from the golden era. This channel is not about my opinion on steroids, it's about the golden era of bodybuilding. Back then they were legal and their use was supervised by medical practitioners, now they are not, and the abuse nowadays is horrific. That's also why I don't report on today's bodybuilding scene. My opinion is just that, it will not exclude me from talking about the golden era
sam kader and all my reviews are NOT only on steroid users. Actually, I tend to focus more on Reeves, Ross and many naturals from the 40-50s...of course I will also report on those from the 60-70s, why? Because I choose to
