With both this Apple pie and the Pumpkin pie you used frozen cubed butter. In the Chicken Pot Pie crust, you grated a frozen stick of butter. Ive done this grated approach and it worked fantastic. Would the grated butter approach work for the Apple pie crust and Pumpkin pie crust, as well?
I don't have a fancy pie dish like that so can I bake it in my Lodge cast iron skillet or will that transfer too much heat and burn the dough? I guess I made pot pie in it and it works so I would think it would be fine...
Question: I want to use that dough recipe for a sweet potato pie. Even after rolling the dough out it looks fairly thick. Would you blind bake the crust for a potato pie?? I hate soggy bottoms.
We didn't get to see the bottom of the pie. I was looking for a soggy bottom. Would Paul Hollywood approve of this bake? I don't think so. But we do things our own way and I'm ready to try some smokes apple pie.

Honestly was very disappointed in this recipe. The filling had zero flavor. Maybe the apples I used? Everything but the filling was good but overall the flavor was very lacking.
