    Thank you so much for this beautiful offering. I am about to meet my first lama so wanted to learn about prostrations from a Tibetan. I saw another video by a Buddhist nun, where she touched crown, forehead, throat, heart. Which is the correct way when you pay your respects to a teacher? Is crown, mouth, heart enough for the full prostration as you show in your video? Once again - many thanks! :) You have a lovely energy. May you be happy.

    Hi! I appreciate you making this video. I wanna ask you one thing. How many times you have to do this for one set. I know about 108bows. How about this in tibetan buddhism?

    • @dwaterson21
      @dwaterson21 2 роки тому +1

      108 is the number. It's the number of beads on the malajapa, the number of feelings we have, and it's the sacred number in Buddhism.

    Thanks for this video, but Im confused, all videos of Dalai Lama I see hes hands / palms like thumbs out, not inside like you show.

    • @lobsangwangdu7184
      @lobsangwangdu7184 9 років тому +1

      This is interesting. His Holiness himself teaches that when you prostrate you should put your thumbs in. When we see him in videos he is usually greeting the crowd or praying at his throne. Let us know if you see an image of him prostrating with the thumbs out.

    • @swedendive
      @swedendive 9 років тому

      Lobsang Wangdu Oh there are many pictures: www.psychalive.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Dalai_Lama_2.jpg
      higherperspective.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Dalai_Lama.jpg
      This is just a few among many. Honest I have never seen one picture where he put thumbs inside. But I have seen other videos here on UA-cam that also show thumbs inside like you show...so thats why Im confused how to do.
      Thanks for videos anyway:)

    • @lobsangwangdu7184
      @lobsangwangdu7184 9 років тому +3

      Hi again. We mean that if you find a picture of HHDL with his thumbs out "while prostrating" let us know. These are photos of him greeting crowds or praying. Perhaps he does differently when he himself prostrates at the beginning and end of teachings.

    It’s amazing how different cultures apply their religions, as an Anglo Saxon heathen we don’t follow our religion like this, we don’t even kneel, we stand up and face our gods, we don’t ask for anything, we just acknowledge them.

    How many Gods or creators do exist according to you? If there's one God or creator, there should be one path. If you believe more than one God, then yes you can have more paths but you should answer millions of questions

      Yusuf, tell me something: do you get a big kick by finding fault with other people's religions. Your Muslim history is a bloody one converting people by the sword. You dare not deny or justify this. Your so-called "true god" is not compassionate or merciful if you have to kill people to make a point. So practice compassion and stop being such a jerk.
