    Installed this along with the cold side pipe into my 2024 Platinum Tremor. I can't say enough good things about this product. One of the missed benefits is how the stock unit runs the EGR into the throttle body. THis setup should prevent the coking issue some have had. I paired it with a Banks big arse filter and finished it off with the banks DPF back exhaust. I don't have before numbers as the truck is new but my EGRs towing, power and mpg are fantastic!!! Thank you for this product.

    Watching this video and seeing that you guys even took into consideration the disaster kit (which I do have installed) has really sold me on this product. Looks like you guys really did your homework. My only question is… Do think there will be problems down the road with carbon build up where the new egr is meeting fresh air? I know there is now because my 60k truck had build up when I did the disaster kit but could this be worse somehow without that egr “diverter” cone? Thanks!

      Thank you! We always try to take as much into consideration as possible when designing our products. As for EGR build up, we have found that any sharp turn, edge - even the MAP sensor hole on the factory intake manifold - can grab soot over an extended period of time. The smoother the design the less buildup (because of less crevices for soot to collect in and build up onto). Our design eliminates a lot of the stock manifold collection points so we're confident this manifold will have considerably less build up over stock; and so far all of our testing vehicles have supported that.

    Great looking system. I just had to replace my cold side pipe after it ripped. With 80,000 miles, I could not believe the carbon buildup I had caked in the EGR part of the throttle body/intake area. I get how it the stock EGR area could clog with the poor airflow and areas for it to accumulate. Based on your testing, does your system flowing the EGR in a smoother area closer to the intake will this cause that carbon buildup more into the engine area or does the engine burn it off more efficiently?

    I’m a simple man who doesn’t necessarily understand what all this means. So my main question is, if I’m towing my 16,000lb 5th wheel down the interstate, does this improve my gas mileage, and if so how much? And will it improve my ability to pull up hills? Thanks

    • @pusherintakes
      @pusherintakes  Рік тому +1

      The simple idea is that by making the intake system more efficient your truck uses less horsepower to push air into the engine - which means less fuel burned. Towing requires even more power, so those gains are even greater. You can expect close to 1 mpg increase towing your 5th wheel. It will improve your hill power as well. Your intercooler may be a limiting factor on power gains depending on the year - also something to consider. And a bonus - increased fuel economy also means lower EGT's, therefore longer engine life.

    • @pusherintakes
      @pusherintakes  Рік тому

      Good catch! Jacob misspoke on that part of the video. The overall composition of the intake system shown (with the plastic upper) is the same down to 2011 model year trucks, but as of right now our system currently only fits 2015+ trucks. A solution for the 2011-14 trucks is toward the top of our engineering list right now.

  • @AverageOverlander
    @AverageOverlander 8 місяців тому

    What are the gains? There aren’t any specs on your website or how this benefits…lot of money for no listed gains!

    • @pusherintakes
      @pusherintakes  8 місяців тому +1

      The airflow increase over stock is 66%, which equates to a faster turbo spool, increased fuel economy (0.5-1mpg being typical), significantly lower and stabilized EGTs. But as far as power gains are concerned - think of it like a campfire - if you really want the power gains on your fire to be significant, increased airflow is only half of the equation; you also need to throw some more fuel in. Adding more air certainly unlocks a lot of potential that wasn't previously there, should you chose to increase your fuel supply. The majority of our customers for this product (vs the race intake system) are looking for the first benefits listed.

    If highly experienced engine engineers could have designed something so simple, why wouldn't they?

    • @pusherintakes
      @pusherintakes  Рік тому +2

      Good question! OEM engineers have a lot more limits than we do. Their goal is not about making each and every individual component the best it could be - it's about meeting their performance goals with an entire engine, while also making it as low cost as possible. They have a lot more to balance. Our design is heavier duty, would take them longer to manufacture, uses more expensive material - all things that add cost. Imagine that across all of the individual components in the engine. Where they have to compromise, we don't. We have the luxury of picking out individual components that were affected by their compromises and optimizing them. (Disclaimer - when it comes to the 6.7L Powerstroke cold side charge tube, there are no excuses for them there. That's just bad design. 😆)

Quality parts that fit right, perform well and come from responsible companies cost more. We could cut the cost significantly if we cut corners by paying lower wages, using non-American sourced steel & components, etc, but that's not our MO.
