Excellent videos and a testament to your professionalism. I would love you guys to give my 997.1 a refresh. Would definitely consider buying one of your cars as well. Don’t lose the passion fellas. 👍
Brilliant work guys. I bought a 997.2 c4s this year so this has given me a few hints to double check through the paperwork on mine to see when those bits were last inspected. Your videos are a constant demonstration of the passion and energy you have for the Porsche brand and is lovely to see.
Thanks for the video. This has helped me seriously reconsider my decision to buy a 997.2 esp on the points on maintaining the pdk system and changing of spark plugs.
Looking at the spark plugs and heat shields, I'm glad I went with the 996! can change plugs and ignition coils in situ without even moving the backbox!
I’ve been on UA-cam since the beginning. I subscribe to like 50 channels, but only have notification on one. Yours. I’ve learned so much from you over the years and it’s an absolute pleasure to see you work, always with a smile! 😊 keep up the good work and I wish you were closer to me…
Great video. Just went thru this on my ‘11 C4S. You didn’t mention the third heat shield over the cat converter, although I saw a used one in your used parts. I dropped the manifold and removed the O2 sensor to change that shield as well. Plug change at the same time. Thought I was missing something taking so much apart, but I see now it was necessary. Keep the videos coming. Canada, eh!
Very much appreciated insight. Basically if one is interested, there is nothing really new, still to see it is a good thing. Also about the spark plugs - I did not know that those are so labour intensive on 997.2 cars. Also I was not aware that the heat shields are similar in terms of work. I always like the closing thoughts driving the customers car for a test drive. If I was in England (and I had a Porsche), you would be my pick to service it. L-I-K-E!
Excellent video guys! Cheers from an ex pat now living in California. I'm looking to buy a 997.2 Cab in the near future so this video was really helpful.🙂
I’ve had a minor hesitation/ running issue on my 996 which through a process of guesswork and starting with the simplest things first turned out to be the coil packs. Looks like a lot more work to change them on the 997.2!
Really good insight into the workshop practices. Great work 👏 Only thing is , it looked like you used the preexisting manifold bolts ? Why not upgrade them ? Once out replace them with the stronger bolts available. Workshop is looking fantastic and love the canopy shed area.
@@friendsgreenporsche5234 About 1.02min the courtyard where the Cayenne and three 911 are parked under what looks like la canopy ? Are they unfinished. . You have grown leaps and bounds, , from the days you was just preparing there and now a really good workshop space a nice facilities. Well done , keep up the good work.
Thanks for your fantastic videos. At 9:26, removal of lower heat shield, is it possible to modify the bolting so that it is not necessary to do all that work to replace coil packs and plugs? Would that leave you enough room, with catalytic converter still mounted, to change the coils and plugs?
Question: I have a 987.2 and was shocked by how many components needed replacing… makes sense that the car has just hit 60k miles. Would you buy a 80k miles car that’s had all the work done or pay significantly more for a lower mile car, and all the associated work?
Why did you remove a small heat shield bolted directly on the catalic converter and didn't put it back? I have mone missing too, was wondering if it only 3.8 that have those...
Hi John, It’s unlikely to need the corroded bits (ie the coil pack heat shields and shock absorbers). But the routine maintenance (PDK service & major service interval etc) should be completed. Oil and fluids degrade over time, regardless to mileage. Anyway.. Get it bought!
Have you guys encountered any 997.2 PDKs making a thump or clunk feeling when slowing to a stop? Seems to happen when the gearbox is disengaging first gear and putting itself into neutral right before the car completely stops. Curious if the 12 year service helps in this regard, or if there’s something else I should look into?
We have encountered this and the clutch servicing has remedied it. Usually it’s because there’s a leak and the fluid is low. If run with too little fluid for a sustained period it’s likely to damage the gearbox.
Wow this is super clean! Im looking to sell my C4S, its all great but the paint front end some clean up of chips etc....whats your thoughts on getting a car resprayed fully before selling? Is it worth it

FGP premises looking very smart. Wishing you all the best for the future!
This is very much appreciated, David. Thank you!

Congrats on the purchase & you’re most welcome for the tips and hints.
I’m in the market… any regrets? I’m on the the hunt for a Targa RHD (for UK).

Great video. Have a 09 Gen 2 base cab with 13000 miles. Only use it in the summer as it has no corrosion.
Truly a treat to drive!

Just my favourite car Chanel. And I drive a 15 year old Audi TT. Go figure. Lol.

How many miles on the white cab? How many miles on your ‘11 987? Wondering if all this work is often required at ~100k?
Thanks
Another interesting video. Always look forward to seeing the new ones, loads of information and very transparent with the prices. Thanks 👍

I’m glad viewers can appreciate the spark plugs on a 997.2 are a palaver! Many thanks for your kind words.
Great video , would you do a similar video for the 987.2 Cayman 2009-2012 ?
Once again - awesome video! Informative, good pace, good light, good sound, educational. 💪🏼
Thank you Lars

Very informative video,….I am thinking of buying a second generation 997 and really appreciate knowing what questions to ask.

Lovely. That car is going to drive like a dream.
It certainly does 😎
please provide breakdown of the cost for this excellent service. Thank you
A fantastic video mate for someone like myself potentially looking at entering Porsche ownership. Great content!
All that to replace some spark plugs. Really glad to have my 2006 997.1 C4S. Has the larger IMS and rock solid. But both are special and worth it.
love the 997.2 content/communication--curious about 6 speed manual since i dont have pdk
You guys are so young but so schooled in Porsche care. How did that happen. Its awesome to see
Nice video as always. Maybe sound quality could be more consistent. Are the bump stops renewed with polyethylene ones, to last longer?
Very good video 👍👍👍
Beautiful work gents.
Finally a 997.2 vid keep them coming. Really appreciate all the details and closeup photography
That’s two 997.2 episodes in a row - maybe we should make it a hatrick 😎
Awesome video

Blocked accounts to anyone else that calls the new building a canopy shed! Only kidding.. thanks for your viewing and comments!

I wish you guys were in Ireland…… we’re stuck with one main Porsche franchised dealer for servicing!🙄
Looking forward to bringing my 997 in for some attention
I Really enjoyed that Luke, but TBH there was hardly any “lipping” on those discs…?
Anyway, you got “triangular flange” in there twice!! 😜

Great video. How many miles were on this car? If stated I missed it. Ok. I see it’s 65,000 miles.
What's the hourly rate ?
Do you have any videos of changing spark plugs on the 991.1 and or the belt?
Why did you remove a small heat shield bolted directly on the catalic converter and didn't put it back? I have mone missing too, was wondering if it only 3.8 that have those...
Can you advise when did the gen 2 pdk get introduced, was it into the 991.1?
Great video as always. I may have the opportunity to buy a 2008 997.2 with 12,000 miles. Would this work need doing regardless of mileage?

@@friendsgreenporsche5234 Thanks v much. If I do, I’ll be bringing it to you!
Love your videos and would love to find somebody as awesome as y'all in the U.S. Quick question: How did the name "Friends Green" come about?
Those spark plugs what a nightmare
You can say that again!
Excellent documented work. Thank you for sharing this info.
Does the g2 taillights fits in the g1?
How many kilometers on that car?

Bloody hell, where’s the rain and over cast weather
Maybe I missed it, but how many miles were on this car before the work began?
Something about German or Italian sports car.
How many miles on that car ?
65,000.
Polish those exhaust tips.
See 24:49.
oh my God lots of rust!
Wtf? Must be couple grand to change a f ing plug??!!! Wtf
Why even show yourself changing parts if we can’t see what and how???? Not much sense
Just a bunch of music
Charles, the videos are to demonstrate the work completed when preparing a car for sale, not to present a “how to” video.
So many reasons not to own one of these.
Would you mind if I started a go fund me page for Jacks new work shorts 🩳?
No no. Get him a matching pair of knickers. That way we can see three holes in one. They will be able to claim money from only fans
We did warn him a comment like this would be made in the video!
He’s got his priorities straight, IMHO: new ink first….shorts later :-)
