I'm here to witness that what she is saying is true. I did research and came across a study that shows that most hennas peak at 3:35-4hrs, then the potency starts to drop, by hour 8, you defeated the purpose.
I bought your henna and indigo bundle with the course. I followed the directions precisely, I added the alma powder and the aloe powder to the henna. It turned out BEAUTIFULLY! Thank you for high quality products and extremely informative videos. I have Sisterlocks so I was a bit apprehensive, but I am so glad that I used your products.
Thank u for answering my question. I'm in the habit of wrapping the henna and keeping it overnight and more (as long as I can) but the stain on my fingernails is way lighter than my toenails. I used to think it's bcoz of the thickness of skin. But a henna artist said nail henna has a different recipe than body henna and that's why she gets that rich red tone on her nails. She even did a comparison with both on different nails.
Hello. Moroccan Henna Powder has a dye release of 1-2 hours & for Red Raj, Rajasthani Indian henna, Jamila and Yemeni henna they have a dye release of 3-4 hours.
Hi! I love this channel it's the most informative there is on the subject of henna. I can't use amla in my henna mix because it darkens the henna and takes away the red. I want popping brilliant red colour! Can I use amla by itself as a mask at a later date without it affecting the colour I got from the henna?
Hello. Yes you can add honey. This is added to attract moisture into the recipe. It’s also a natural hydrogen peroxide and sometimes used to lighten the hair naturally.
THANK YOU for answering this! I think this was my problem my first time using henna, and didn't get the strong color I was hoping for! Definitely trying Henna & Indigo again with a shorter waiting time!
About Amla, if this its not a solution for hair growth, is is possible to play aroud essential and vegetable oil to optimise the mask in this sens. For essential oil there's Rosmarinus officinalis cineoliferum and Laurius nobilis that help hair grow. For vegetable oil, castor oil, Hamp and argan are normaly the most used due to their compatibility with hair. If that can help :)
I tried the 2-step henna and indigo to cover my greys, it gave me a blakish brown color.. HOWEVER, the color I was after is ashy light to dark brown, which is closest to my original hair color.. is there a specific mix that would give me the color I'm after?

Hi! I have a question. I bought your Morrocan Henna and bought fruit acid powder from another site. The fruit acid says to leave for 8-12 hours, but the Morrocan Henna has a faster dye release. Do I still only let it sit for 2 hours or longer so the fruit acid powder can work properly?
@ today is the day! I mixed my henna, aloe vera powder, olive oil & red tea this morning. Nervous & excited to try this for the first time. Wish my locs luck! Thanks for replying :)
Kadeesa, I love your videos! I have scalp issues with over production of sebum. So I have decided to use a mixture of Cassia, Amla and Aloe mixture. My hair has been chemically treated and now I have grey roots because I stopped dying my hair chemically, due to the hair loss and damage to my hair. My problem is that when I wash my hair, if I don't put conditioner in it then I can't get a comb through it. I want to switch to your cassia and neem shampoo for a pre wash before I put the mixture on my hair. I am not concerned with color deposits on my greys, just overall scalp and hair health. I currently have to use Head and Shoulders to keep my scalp from getting over oily and flakey, but now I want to stop using it. Can you PLEASE do a video addressing this? It would help so much! Also, it would be really helpful if you showed YOUR hair. Thank you!

Hi Dawn! Maybe YOUR product DIES OUT after about 2-4 hours BUT typical natural henna has an 8-12 hour dye release peak. Your powder IS CLEARLY DIFFERENT from typical all natural henna... And way more expensive.
there are different types of henna. red raj henna dye release does only take 3-4 hours before it’s ready for application whereas moroccan henna dye release only takes 1-2 hours. jamila henna seems to be at the 8-12 hour mark. after it peaks, it will begin its demise. this is true for all henna. peak times all depends on what specific type of henna people are using and also what liquid they are using to mix. also, the peak times are different when using henna for body art.
@@xxboujeedollfacexx I am thinking more about henna for hair. I have noticed letting henna set for two hours or twelve hours did not make much difference in color. I mostly use Light Mountain henna that is sourced in India. I have been using henna on my hair for 7 years.
@@JuliasHairJourney wow that’s interesting. i only use henna sooq for henna and i’ve never tried leaving it longer than 8 hours before application, then another 4 hours on my hair. i do believe quality and sourcing plays a bit of a role now that i think about it. i had ordered a henna from amazon and it NEVER had dye release even after sitting for 2 days. i will definitely give the henna you listed a try as well!
Hi, was wondering if u can make a video on hair care in Ayurveda in children can u read what I posted in ur video !!How to Make Your Own DIY Hair Serum (Super Simple!) I think it would be great because so many women are doing Ayurveda on their 2 or 3 years olds. I’ve even seen as young as 1! Love ur videos!!!
We're professional colorists (as a brand and in our salon, licensed cosmetologists)) and have been doing this for over 20 years. It is 3-4 hours and our clients are happy and getting the color they want. A few factors make dye release longer such as: lesser quality henna, lemon juice being used, or colder temperatures of the home or space it's being released into. The henna reaches a peak at 4-8 hours and this is why it gives the best grey coverage and is long lasting. I mean if 8=12 hours works for you then that's good it's working for you.Our henna is high quality and doesn't take as long and we use warm to hot distilled water.
Thank you for, FINALLY, addressing that controversial, mystery - how long to let henna sit??
