    This is the sort of video that not many people make. Thank you! I tried asking many years ago to enquire about buses to and from SDTalao to towns like Scalea, and also buses to the nearest beach (maybe summer-time only?) but only heard reference to there being some buses. I wasn't sure if they were just school buses on school days?

    I enjoyed watching your video, as I’m visiting Santa Domenica in a little over a week, l’m one of the jazz artists from North America coming to play at the International Tyrrehenian Jazz Festival.
    In your video you mentioned you know a “Wilma”; I’m wondering if that’s the same Wilma I’m staying at her palazzo and she and my good friend from Hawaii/Portland Elena, started the jazz festival a few years ago.
    And you mentioned an BnB I’d love to learn more about it and get a look while I’m staying in Santa Domenica.
    Again, enjoyed the video showing me the town I’ll be staying at for about a a week.
    I’m traveling from my home in NW Alabama; I live in an area know as “The Shoals” aka Muscle Shoals, the hit recording Capitol of the world.
    Anyway, I’m really looking forward to my visit in just over a week (July 23, 2024).
    Thanks again for the tour!

    Hi Chris, thank you for this wonderful video. I loved hearing the anecdotes as you walked. It brought up so many questions such as what colour will you paint Casa Christina? Why did the couple Bonnie spoke about move away from SDT? Is the pretty blue house for sale? Do those huge tomatoes at Nuncia's taste as good as they look? Can we watch more walks about the village? I can see why you love it so much!
    Many thanks!
    P.S. I love the house tours too😊

    • @SuperSavvyTravelersLLC
      @SuperSavvyTravelersLLC  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Susan, your comment made me laugh. I left in the commentary because I thought it was interesting. I’m glad you caught it. In answer to your question I think we are going to paint Casa Christina blue like a light blue with white trimming I think that will look really nice. The couple Bonnie was talking about is moving back to the US because they have grandkids and apparently they miss them a lot.And yes the tomatoes at Nunzia store taste as good as they look. All of the produce here tastes amazing. This walk through the village has been very popular so I will do more. In fact next week I intend to go to Praia Mare and Diamante and do the same thing. Stay tuned. And happy Mother’s Day!

      Hi Terri! We hav a restaurant (Soon to be 2), a butcher shop, two grocery shops where they can order you what you need, 2 couple of hairdressers, a pharmacy, doctor's office and a bunch of other services. It is a smallish village but we have everything we need here. Scalea is 6 km down the hill from us and it has the huge grocery store with everything you could want. It is a tourist town so there are many restaurants and shops. It is very convenient!

    I know this video is a few months old now but I have noticed in many videos as you walk around, the dark stain at the bottom of all the buildings. Is that mould..? I know they weren't aware of damp courses back when these building were built but it is a bit concerning. Such a shame the buildings have been rendered over, or how do you call it, stucco I think. Some towns have stripped their buildings back to the the original stone and it looks amazing..

    • @SuperSavvyTravelersLLC
      @SuperSavvyTravelersLLC  3 роки тому

      These are just water stains but could be mold in some cases, particularly on northern-facing walls. We are close to the sea so the air is fairly humid. Many buildings have been rendered over with stucco, but when renovating them, in some cases you can easily chip off the stucco to expose the original stone construction ... it's a matter of personal choice.

      You have to ensure that certain measures are implemented. Our architect is a master at this. Some of these properties had been abandoned when we did this video. Happily many have been sold to new owners who are fixing them up.
