I’m so ready to see her fear the same thing we all feared. It took me 10 years to know that If I just follow the barrels from the start I’d reach air😭
oh god yes. I remember really struggling with this level over all.
I haven't seen these barrels until now. After sometime playing it as a kid I found out that the right way was for me to dive backwards.

This is was a nerve racking level, drowned so many times trying to find where you were supposed to be going, never thought of following the wreckage
First time I did this level, trying to find air was hard and these sharks had emerged from the darkness

She definitely had an easier time than I did with my recent playthrough (except for the start at least). For example, it took me a bit to find the lever that fills in the water near the end.
Someone during the live said Lara should learn to eat her "chocolates" with her "chopsticks". Should I try drawing that?
I wonder how she'll handle a familiar puzzle in the Wreck...?

One of the many levels I enjoy playing! Swimming past the sharks and seeing the underwater vessel, can't wait to see how it looks in the remastered collection next month!
Even my teenage self was impressed, back then, with how the bad guys need a super sub to dive and Lara is just holding her nose/breath and free diving for the fun of it. Cheers, Foxmaster, I really like your videos!

About listening to your vids, I've watched your TR1 series fully, but now, since TR2 is my least fav part from all og TR games, I just prefer to put it on smaller window and mostly listen to it while doing something else. Did Lara deduce the environment is upside down because of those lights she's jumping over? Strange, I never thought about it that way until now.
There is anti-slip floor on the ceiling ^^ there are also the trapdoors, it's more logical to open them outside than from the inside, because you couldn't put thing under them if they opened in the other way 🤗

1:05 LMAO!!!!! The henchman, lost control of the sub because he spotted Godzilla peeking around the reef's corner! XDD Personally I would have settled with an overlay of Godzilla, charging the sub instead of the shark but still a great watch! An attention to detail that I really liked was the different footstep, sound efx's you added when Lara doesn't have her boots on. Question, was that a sound mod you added into the game or did you edit that in throughout the video?

Whoa really? Hmm, must be a regional difference cause mine is the U.S version where the default boot, sound efx's occur when walking/running during the Underwater levels.

Also, bit of an update. The Tomb Raider 1,2,3 Remasters fixes that footstep detail for our regions . It now properly matches like FoxMaSteR001's. 😀

I noticed the sounds of her feet walking are a bit better than in my game, is this somewhat improved? I also noticed in the past level (Bartoli's Hideout) the swords of the knights are better in graphics, and more shinny.

Im curious if the best supported gfx card of the time would be worth putting in a spare pcie slot with the agp version on pcie or the pci to pcie conversions for the original cards...
Gets rather technical but your focusing on what the game supports and was tested with and what cards have all of them or methods to improve it.

Oddly the physx engines stopped being dedicated chipsets too... The most likely would be a dedicated physics card... And most gamers “dont see or feel a difference “ but it takes processing power for z buffers and orientation object occullsion but also what objects interact with what and how... Newer card tend to rely on optical illusions vs physical asset attributes. Or its offloaded to the cpu. ?!
This game uses portals to know what to load and unload instead of a circle around the player ^^ With a mod you can increase the amount of rendered portals, TR1 is about 80 ram with fully optimized game, the number of textures is limited ^^ Many are just 2d objects or repetitive ^^
Looking forward to see how AI Lara is gonna figure out where to swim at the beginning of the level. I guess there will be a lot of deaths in bloopers video. 😂

I always wince at Lara's feet and especially toes when climbing those rusty ladders, moving boxes around or walking on all that sharp metal. 😨
11:40 Huh, that ladder is actually coded as a ladder, even though the ledge height is low enough that you can climb up directly.
The video has subtitles but UA-cam won't let me get the transcript. Most vexing.
The main thing I would say with the subtitles is that Lara only "sighs" when she uses a medipack (a sound of relief in this case). The noise of her climbing up is a "grunt" or a "groan" (a sound of expending effort).
The translate should work, maybe it must convert the automatic subs ? Here they are manually added 🤗 I didn't know for the grunt, in french "sigh" can work too, I'll use grunt 🤗
@FoXMaSteR001 No, the transcript is a box available on most videos that basically lists all the subtitles with timestamps. Allows you to read them without the video if you wanted to quickly find a spot, or make your own copy of the text. I don't think it's an option you have to specifically enable but who knows with UA-cam?

I don't speak fluent science, but shouldn't being that deep underwater in that little lycra swimsuit instantly kill her? I'm surprised the AI didn't address it either.
It's not that deep, some real humans survived deeper waters, 40 fathoms is about 73 meters deep, as she doesn't use oxygen bottle the air inside her body it's a possible dive, the problem is inside the ship, if the air inside is compressed she would die because of the alteration of the composition of the air including O2. But I asked chatGPT and it couldn't give a clear answer. If you ask it about a ship containing air underwater it sometimes says the air is compressed, sometime not, it's unclear... (the proof she isn't that deep is she can still see the light in the cutscene), there is also the fish around ^^

i can't take it anymore! watching one vid per day and clearly you deliberately left in the Chinese chopsticks and chocolates and cheese graters. It's not funny anymore though, it's a missed oversight in your coding. She can read inventory item names, she even had all her weapons removed and had just their ammo with their names, the AI has to match the render of the ammo with its label in the inventory and recognize that it's ammo when found in the wild. She should have commented on her foolishness for calling them the wrong things after recognizing what it is the first time she acquired the uzi clips/magnum rounds/etc.
