Yes I'm thinking 13k rpm is way too low. Since it's not a positive displacement pump I doubt it'll do much. Though it is large enough relative to the engine, maybe it will work. Interesting either way.
Miss your content love your idea of putting a supercharger on a saw and giving it the good ole Nitrous . I would love to have a chat about some ways I think that even the manufacturers could use super charge saws as some RC plane engines have superchargers
Nitrous Oxide N2O is Two Parts Nitrogen and One Part Oxygen. We Inject Nitrous to Burn the Oxygen. Nitrogen is just a Buffer so the Oxygen doesn’t Grenade the Motor. We Use Laughing Gas to Spool Up Turbos, Your assumption of How Nitrous and Boost work is in Need of Research.
So id say get a smaller turbo and build a header pipe from exhaust port to turbo then a stubby direct exhaust dump pipe . Say another guy attempt this and gave up willin to send parts to someone to finish it
K cars from Japan use them to there smaller most are belt driven but some are electronic red beard garage has a video of one doing 15lbs of boost on a predator style engine. Imagine the horsepressure on a 13k 🔥 saw
Did you ever happen to notice they did this from the factory with the flywheel? They pressurize the intake chamber while also forcing air for cooling... Far too small to have any impact.
Compressor is way, way too big. You want a car smaller turbo than has ever been made, and belt drive it. Waste of time, a conventional turbo would be simpler. Or find a small supercharger and use that at the right rpm.
If you’re just using it to force the nitrous into the intake I would see at what pressure the Nitrous is coming out of the bottle because just adding a few pounds of boost might not do all that much as bottle pressure is much higher. Unless you have the nitrous on the wet side of the carb and are trying to get rid of flow reversion through the carb, positive pressure through the whole intake tract will make sure the nos goes into the engine.
If you can trust your air volume calculations to move the volume of nitrous you're playing with... Try your calculations again when your nitrous runs out.
If you can manage to get a specail made impeller taht can Work with lower RPM i actually See a Potential for a whole New era of saws ....a turbo spinns arround 40k to up to 200k (depending on what Kind of turbo) but a working supercharger for saws . Dude that sounds like stuff the big menufactureers would be very Interessed in ...greetings from a german faller and machinest i love your channel .... i always had the dream to supercharge my 462 🤣 or 066
So if you replaced the fly wheel with a turbine impeller, that's over driven through a set of gears, and you use the side of the bars to support the housing with a kicker off the far right top of the bars to the discharge for additional support leaving plenty of room in the center for your hand. Turn engine at 13 to 14,ooo rpms, that means that you have to create a gearset to increase the turbine speed up 4.5 % to really get into actually building some decent boost pressure. What about running alcohol or a mixture with the largest percentage of alcohol That allows you to run longer without overheating the jug. If you use a stinger, then your power band is too limited to a small percentage of your throttle range, and too difficult to stay in the pipes power band. But if you run modified exhaust, that gives you wider range of peak torque that has the addional hit of a dry shot of NOS. Then that reduces the hazards of unseen fires, because alcohol is invisible when it goes up in flames, although you will probably be running minimum of 40.1 2 cycle oil, and be safer at 50.1 since your on WOT, and using sealed needle bearings you should be fine if you shoot the NOS through the inlet of turbine housing thus chilling the aluminum down saving it from self destruction due to hi rpms with no oil to cool the bearings down.
You will need much bigger diameter of compressor on exit and much smaller diameter on input. Something about 22mm on input and 180mm on exit otherwise you will need more than 40k rpm.
I have an idea for crank and case modifications to help funnel/compress the charge... thinking it similar in concept as what you're doing but im looking to keep everything internal.
Put a 5:1 or 10:1 planetary gearbox in there and it should spin up nice! Or look at smaller rotrex superchargers. Use the nitrous to help spool it! Wet shot?
Why couldn't you drive the turbo off the chain somehow to make it more of a centripetal supercharger like they do with the Pearl Street cars now where the pro charger is driven off the crankshaft that comes out of the front of the timing cover
Your literally going to be in chainsaw history books , for all the crazy things your doing !
So when you disappear from youtube we will know what happened. Were all good with that!😁
Great idea, but I would have belt driven it with a 1-5 ratio. Turbos normally spin somewhere around 100,000 rpm.
Can you get a 3:1 gearing in there somewhere?
Yes I'm thinking 13k rpm is way too low. Since it's not a positive displacement pump I doubt it'll do much. Though it is large enough relative to the engine, maybe it will work. Interesting either way.
You need a smaller cold side
Turbos make pressure at 125k tho, not 13k...

Needs a speed multiplier - otherwise boost is zero psi

Some smog pumps like the vw you can split the cases so u could down size it greatly and its belt or "shaft" driven
You think of using a smog pump off a duramax. Alot of small engines have been blown by them

Do you Port for the public or just a hobby? I’m interested in getting my 592xp ported
What am I missing here? Reverse rotation saw or spinning the impeller backwards? Throw a ring gear on the flywheel?

I think...you have some crazy stuff going on and I LOVE IT!
UA-cam “2strokestuffing” He made the Motor, a Supercharger and his own Dynamometer for his Two Stroke Race Bike.
Aaand you can get Little Nitrous Oxide Cartridges for Nitro RC Cars…
Pop set of planetary gears on it? you will have to use light lube so it will be drag racing because the gears will blow up
thats not enough revs, a turbo spools at around 100k rpm usualy, a saw dosnt
Dude the more I watch on your channel I really want to talk about a build idea I don't think anyone has done it yet
i would strap that on a motorized bike
Why not put a supercharger on it from rotex
MORE POWER HUH HUH HUGH
planetary gears for more speed
Waste of time. 😀
You forgot one little fact. Turbos spin over 20 k rpm to build boost . This will not build boost . :p
So u need gearing dude !
make a r1 motor chainsaw
Fashion a gear drive to overdrive it

Study a nitro RC engine for clues.

Send it!
Wild.
I think you are a mad scientist and when you figure this out it's going to break UA-cam! Muhahaha!

Mega geil,
Ich wollte auch schon einen Turbo auf eine Stihl bauen 😅🔥
Aber die Turbos waren alle zu groß 😂🤙
Trotzdem mega und ich bin gespannt...
Crazy, but I like it 👍👍
Do some research on kawasaki h2, it uses a turbo as a supercharger
Hey John, Hope your going good miss your content appreciate you bro much love
You're a mad man!! Bigger turbo!!
I bet a rod through the case🤣😂😆
Coolest thing if ever seen! 🇺🇸
That is going to be wild 😜
Your a savage! I love it!
Yes!
Freaking awesome!!!!
