Is there a video for the installation like this on the diesel side and also can you put it on the truck before you delete it and after will it recognize the delete
an installer comment.... at the point where you are fiddling with the small fuse and spade connectors i strongly suggest you do that over a flat surface away from the engine bay. if you drop both or either you'll thank me.
I saw that during the installation you only did the regular. what about if you want the performance and regular??? How do you go from regular to help with fuel economy on a drive and once you get to the destination lets say A trail or track you want the performance now. How do you switch back and fourth. I have seen about 3 videos on how to install it and download and everyone just does one setting and Never say to do the other 2 setting or if you even can
Most programmers will require that you plug them into a computer first to ensure you have the most recent download. There are many cases where the programs have changed in the vehicles and require an update first.
Jerry Williams: Unfortunately it will not. +Ahmed Bighouse nah not really. I just have a great team that keeps it seeming that away. LOL Thanks I certainly appreciate the good comments. If it weren't for you guys we wouldn't even be doing this.
Thanks for making your video. Once the new program is installed does it stay in the vehicles system even if the battery is disconnected? I have a parasitic drain on my 2008 E-350 Super Duty that no one has been able to "cure", so I just disconnect the battery if the vehicle will sit for 4 or more days. Do you know if I install the programmer would the new program get "wiped away" each time I disconnected the battery? And if the new program gets "removed" by disconnecting the battery can it be simply reinstalled just by plugging in the programmer but not have to go through a completely new install? I hate having to run the engine for 20 minutes or so just to re-calibrate the OEM computer every time I disconnect the battery it's a big waste of gas especially since I get 9+ mpg to begin with. Thanks
+zrabbithunter I have been doing some research for another question on this programmer and I haven't seen anything that says you would need to reset it after power loss. BTW I had that same problem in the shop and it turned out to be the Factory radio.

DiabloSport claims that when you reinstall the factory tune before heading in for service. They cannot detect a Tuner had been used. Does Bullydog also claim this?
+Gray Thunder they do not. I also do not believe the Diablo claim either. I have been a mechanic for nearly 40 years and I promise you any mechanic worth a crap could spot the tuner install in a matter of minutes. The only ones that are undetectable are the style that you plug in to your DLC, program the comp, and then unplug it. FYI it is always a good idea to reset to factory prior to service because most dealerships will blame whatever issue you are having on the tuner. There are a myriad of reasons for them doing that, but that's a story for a different day.

So if you buy a used BD and you go to register the new vehicle are there any types of fees or charges to be expected before you can change the BD over to the new vehicle?
Scuba playsmc Absolutely! We have it available in gas and diesel for your F350. You can check it out here > www.realtruck.com/bully-dog-triple-dog-gt-performance-chip/R182833P2006Y743MA.html
When connecting to the fuse shouldn't you install the metal piece on the currents exit flow on the fuse? Otherwise it would always be hot even if something blew the fuse.
Scott Clark great question. The short answer is no. The longer answer is that it is not necessary since the system has it's own inline fuse. The idea is to have power to it anytime the ignition is in accessory or run positions. Plus if whatever system you attached your fuse link to happens to blow that fuse your Chip will still be able to function. If you have any more questions about this or any of our other over 500000 products, please feel free to call one of our awesome customer service peeps at, 877-216-5446
richard alonzo We have had dealerships void warranty and other dealerships do not care about the tuners. We recommend that you return your vehicle to its stock settings and disconnect and remove your tuner before you take your vehicle to a dealer for warranty work.
Currently we only sell for trucks, jeeps and SUV's. If you're curious about a different type of vehicle we would recommend calling Bully Dog directly 940-783-9915
Noel Lozano I would recommend you check with a local performance shop. As we are a retailer we don't have the ability to give you exact performance settings for your vehicle. We can guide you in what will work on your vehicle however.
El_Mario9 it does not, however, a lot of dealerships will tell you it does. The best thing to do is to call around to a few and see what they have to say. We always just take ours out before taking it in for service just to avoid the conflicts. If you have any other questions about this or any of the other 500000 plus accessories we sell and would like to speak to a person directly feel free to contact our knowledgeable Customer Service folks at 877-216-5446
Santiago Gonzale It will improve your gas mileage by coaching you. the Triple Dog GT monitors users driving habits to help maximize efficiency and fuel economy.
I have the Bullydog GT on my 2010 dodge 1500, in not quite getting the acceleration that I want out of my truck, is there anything in specific I can change in my tuner to help me with that? Also I currently saw a video of a guy having his Bullydog set on "extreme" can you do that with there tuners? *****
Perry Ayers This is straight out of the instruction manual. Tuning Information The results we have provided are typical - variations do occur between vehicles. Some vehicles do not have the extreme power level setting available or On-The-Fly horsepower adjustability. SETTING PEAK HORSEPOWER PEAK TORQUE Extreme Up to 120+ Up to 250+ Performance 75+ 125+ Tow/Economy 50+ 100+ Stock Power Stock Stock
Perry Ayers It is quite possible that these options are not available for your application. I would suggest contacting BullyDog Tech Support at: Call 940-783-9915 or 866-285-5936 from M-F 7am to 6pm MST for technical support
+Kermit the Frog really it depends on driving habits, style, and whether it is Hwy or City driving. The manufacturer states that it will increase MPGs.
These generally do not void the warranty. However, if you are using these on the extreme settings a dealership might say that the cause of the problems was the tuner. It is really up to the dealership as to whether or not you will be covered.
"Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act:Legally, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle (per the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302(C)) "
diablosport intune and trinity take less time with same power gains and you dont need a SD card, If BD would already make the tuner preloaded you would have a fighting chance. Even my old ds predator was done in 10 minutes
Dylan Mccutcheon not sure what would cause that unless the chip is running the battery dead. If I remember correctly those have a switch on the box that allows for battery (always powered) or Key On Power (only powered when the key is on). Otherwise I would suggest contacting BullyDog Customer Support at 940-783-9914.
+RealTruck.com it's working now running the 91 octane tune works great but everytime I change a tune I've had to reset the ecu by disconnecting the battery it's a real pain :/
Dylan Mccutcheon unfortunately that is one of the less user friendly parts of the BullyDog otherwise it is a relatively good performance enhancement tool.
+Christian Herbei I would totally love to do that some time, however, we currently sell over 500,000 different products and we try to do what we can to just show you guys how to install them. One of these days though I would like to put one of these in race mode and haul down the drag-strip. At least once :)
waste of money. what you're really buying is the OBD2 diagnostic scanner and the over engineer display monitor. you can't really do anything with this computer chip when it comes to real engine tuning.
holy geez what a pain to install just a simple 100 steps no thks my truck is new i have a warranty dont need 30 hp more, better fuel mileage? ill use my eco or wont drive it alot easier
Why do you make this such a complicated install? You seriously could not just say connect the connecter to the OBD port? A ten year old could install this.
Buy a different tuner, it performed worse with my 2010 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi Tuned then it Did Stock and this is based on the devices on performance tests. It shows the truck had more power and torque almost every bit of the curve stock then it did Tuned. Then there is not a single shop out there that will provide you a custom tune for a Dodge with this thing. SCT/Derive products are mainly a Ford thing and Dodge People where just thrown in there as an after thought. You can create your own custom tune after purchasing a 350 software, that comes with no instructions or help files. No support in the forums for dodge no support from the manufacturer to learn how to tune your vehicle unless you pay like 1200.00 for there course, and not a single shop out there on there list of shops nationwide will help you tune your dodge at least that I could find. When I asked support if they could send me a custom tune and I'ld pay them they told me you can buy advantage. Bought Advantage there tune software and with no directions or help files or anything to understand how to use it correctly and not Fu** your car so had to return it and the bully dog. It may be great for ford users because there is ton of support for them. But Dodge users need to go with HP Tuners for a massive community support forum, From Dodge, GM, Ford and more. They even have a Tune Repository where you can download premade tunes for your vehicle made by others. The HP Tuners device doesn't lock to 1 vehicle at a time. It will work on as many vehicle as you want. The catch is each vehicle costs credits to add from the looks dodges are 2 credits. Each credit is 49.95. But that is a 100 or so a vehicle on one device as many vehicles as you want at a time. Where as bully dog the device is locked to the vehicle and if you want to move it to a new vehicle you need to pay 250.00 send it to bully dog and wait to get it back. Then it locks to the next vehicle you add it to, and will no longer work for the old vehicle. This is a horrible device, horrible company and horrible support. Not worth your money, time or headaches you will get.
Saiyan Seeds ,I want to thank you for you providing that info. I just picked up a 02 2500 Ram with the 360/5.9 Magnum and Im searching to see what's out there that I can use to improve my truck. Hai Dao No, you have Uninstall the tune you installed. It gives you the option to return it stock form
I have a 2003 Toyota Tundra limited I just wanna get rid of my speed limiter I max out 108 mph
Did you ever figure out a way to get rid of your speed limiter?
Is this only for trucks?
Currently we only sell for trucks, jeeps and SUV's. If you're curious about a different type of vehicle we would recommend calling Bully Dog directly 940-783-9915
Does this work on 2018 models?
Can you send us your full info, year/make and model?
Will this work for my 012 300c?
+Cayden Smith as we only sell these for trucks I do not know. You could contact BullyDog customer service and ask them.
What would be the best tune setup to boost my hp in my nissan altima 2.5s. its stock besides exhaust. should i get an intake before tuning???
*****
Noel Lozano Nope you are fine tuning before the intake. Then after the intake install you can retune.
what would be the best tune for more hp? *****
Noel Lozano I would recommend you check with a local performance shop. As we are a retailer we don't have the ability to give you exact performance settings for your vehicle. We can guide you in what will work on your vehicle however.
how did you get through the firewall
+Brent V I use a hard plastic tube that I punch through one of the rubber grommets and run my wire through it. Works great and makes it alot easier.
Great video thank you so much
Glad it was helpful!
does it void your warranty?
El_Mario9 it does not, however, a lot of dealerships will tell you it does. The best thing to do is to call around to a few and see what they have to say. We always just take ours out before taking it in for service just to avoid the conflicts. If you have any other questions about this or any of the other 500000 plus accessories we sell and would like to speak to a person directly feel free to contact our knowledgeable Customer Service folks at 877-216-5446
How much did it in prove in mpg?
Santiago Gonzale It will improve your gas mileage by coaching you. the Triple Dog GT monitors users driving habits to help maximize efficiency and fuel economy.
nice video. can i get some like this for a 2009 dodge ram 1500 v6?.
+jorge m sorry. These are for the V8 models only.
Ok. Thanks
Did this take forever for anyone else
Cameron Allard yup
I have the Bullydog GT on my 2010 dodge 1500, in not quite getting the acceleration that I want out of my truck, is there anything in specific I can change in my tuner to help me with that? Also I currently saw a video of a guy having his Bullydog set on "extreme" can you do that with there tuners? *****
Perry Ayers This is straight out of the instruction manual.
Tuning Information
The results we have provided are typical - variations do occur between vehicles. Some vehicles do not have the extreme power level setting available or On-The-Fly horsepower adjustability.
SETTING PEAK HORSEPOWER PEAK TORQUE
Extreme Up to 120+ Up to 250+
Performance 75+ 125+
Tow/Economy 50+ 100+
Stock Power Stock Stock
See, when I programmed my chip in, I didn't have any of those options.
Perry Ayers It is quite possible that these options are not available for your application. I would suggest contacting BullyDog Tech Support at:
Call 940-783-9915 or 866-285-5936 from M-F 7am to 6pm MST for technical support
hi will this work for inifinite g37s
Do not buy if you do run a performance test on it stock and then tuned and you'll see it does nothing
How will a chip like this affect my mpg?
+Kermit the Frog really it depends on driving habits, style, and whether it is Hwy or City driving. The manufacturer states that it will increase MPGs.
Doesn't this also void the warranty?
I was looking at buying this but jesus I don't feel like loading and unloading a sd card 3 times to get my truck tuned.
Thats why id go with superchips, hypertech or Diablosport
yeah looking at diablo right now...it's more but looks way easier to install on the you tube vids
Matt Smith it is
you notice much of a difference? I'm looking for a little more fun out of my 2013 ram 5.7
I just installed one on my 2012 silverado 5.3 and now it's throwing an engine light and barely turning over as in starting ? Not sure what's going on
Dylan Mccutcheon not sure what would cause that unless the chip is running the battery dead.
I keep getting code 467 on my 2016 nissan maxima can some one help me pleas ...
SHNKL1 not sure what that code means. You can contact BullyDog and they should be able to tell you.
definitely not the place to get the answer
Very circuitous.
PLUS A BILLIONAIRE.
that's it? just installation? how about test driving in real time scenario
DLC (Data Link Connector)
A ram is a dodge
Ram became their own company when they started making the 4th gen trucks
STOP saying "go ahead"...
Are you kidding me? Might as well hook the laptop to the vehicle! All this thing is is a transfer device.
Espanol
holy geez what a pain to install just a simple 100 steps no thks my truck is new i have a warranty dont need 30 hp more, better fuel mileage? ill use my eco or wont drive it alot easier
What a pain in the butt.
Why do you make this such a complicated install? You seriously could not just say connect the connecter to the OBD port?
A ten year old could install this.
can you run this on more then one ram say a 2008 and 12 ram ?
What you explained makes the HP sound like just what I'm looking. Thank you. Any more tips on improving my truck would be much appreciated.
Would it work on a 2014 3.5 ecoboost?
