I'm 57 yr. old irishman from Kentucky, U.S., & i have a big appetite. I'm not a real big man, 6 foot tall, weigh 200 pounds, but i can eat everything on the grill. We grow green onions in our garden , some people call them scallions, they also grow wild here.

Terrific idea and looks delicious. What is the grain that is being stone ground for the batter? It looks like soaked barley. Or, is it some dal like yellow peas?
Looks yummy. Where I live we don't have access to spring onions, so I would probably substitute scallions for them. The bite would be stronger and more peppery vs being sweeter.

A case of green onions is like 15$ depending on the season. That’s about 50 cents worth give or take.
if you can get them by the case that is a great deal. otherwise green onions = about 1 dollar for a bundle of 8 or 9 ea at the US grocery store.
