- Had to learn this for "sekunda vista" training for uni, which is when you read stuff from the sheet without cheating and finding it on youtube :p I'm very sorry for all the errors but the thing has 13 verses and they're very much nowhere near the sheet music so you're going crosseyed trying to read two places at once. I know, I know, excuses, excuses. Hope you enjoy :)
My bf is danish and I am learning danish and this is the first danish song I heard and I am in love with this song. I will sing this song for him
❤️
listen to war music instead
Danish language fits so well with this kind of poetic song. I loved the symbolism of the doves and the ravens.
I so agree with you, both about the language´s beauty and the symbolism.
I love danish ...
So do I and so, so much!!!
So beautiful
Same
Jeg også! Dansk musik er rigtig smukt!!!
Jeg elsker det sang!!
But why
What a lovely song with wonderful lyrics! the Danes must be people of great integrity to have a folk song like this; many thanks for both the song and the translations.
Amazing beautiful danish language which i love so much...
beautiful language, beautiful song.
very beautiful language
@@suspendius6624 It is danish, but it's the old one
@@suspendius6624 I know, all I am saying is, This is danish, but its not the modern time danish, in fact, it's old danish. This song was probably invented around the 17-18 century, so it is probably around 200 years old? (I think) The danish language has changed over the past few centuries, so that is the reason why it sounds different.
After 5000000+ plus years of learning danish I am safe to say that i can understand some things! !😊😊
I'm Indonesian but I find this song soothing, magical.. it's love at first listen
My native language is German so when reading this, I mostly understand all of it, it's just sometimes archaic. But the picture this evokes in my head is something very odd and very exalted at the same time. I feel so connected to it by understanding it kinda and also so distant from it because clearly another member of the family from far away is speaking.
Beautiful.
weil alle scheissen alle furzen alle Durchfall machen
i am in love with this song
why danish is sooo beautiful ????
I'm trying to learn Danish so hearing a Danish song is amazing
Held og lykke min ven
Oh my god this was exactly what I had been looking for! When I first heard the classic Den mand jeg aldrig når, it was like meeting a long lost love and now listenting to this most beautiful folk song in Danish has given me a second chance of this utterly blissful experience, also showing me there must be a lot more along these lines in the Danish folk culture too! The person singing this has a magical, crystal clear voice, by the way! Please, can I share this delicious video on my two edublogs here? Greetings from a Brazilian who loves Danish folk and classic culture! By the way, although my knowledge of the language is still sadly scarce, I´ve noticed the parts where it reads "det vil jeg give dig" (that I will give you) are actually sung as "det give jeg till dig" and where it reads " ... vil jeg ej passe på." (in the stanza that starts with "Det halve kongerige" is actually sung as "...vil passe jeg ej på " arent´t they? If I got them right, that actually makes all the sense, as this inversion of the verb and the subject in an affirmative sentence is also found in some other Germanic languages, when certain words have been used before these terms - and even in English itself in a more formal style in certain structures.
Regarding the sentences that are sung different from the written text, I would just like to tell you that both are grammatically correct in Danish :)
@@lindahertel1365 Oh, tak for det. I actually didn't think they could be grammatically unacceptable but just confirm that they 're sung in a different order than shown in the lyrics. This is utterly important for foreign learners trying to follow the spoken or sung words with the corresponding texts.
As she sings in a clear and paused pace I could detect the differences. However, while trying to listen to young Danes speaking in the colloquial fast pace, I realized it's impossible for me to even understand the few words I managed to learn in the language😀
Thank you very much! I love this beautiful song! 🍊
The melody is so soothing, but that lyrics would probably fit on a metal song.
Love it.
Oh my...
i was eating a cheese danish and thought isnt this a lanugae im look for songs idk lmao
Det er god musik, Tusind tak
Awsome
translated version: I am learning danish and this song and i just love it! The english translation helps a lot. +one more like on this video from ME!
I love this song 😻😍
I am a starter at Danish language and I was wondering if there was a few minor mistake here and there, for example: instead of "dem vil jeg give dig", shouldn't it be "dem give jeg til dig"? Or in "vil jeg ej passe på." Wasn't it supposed to be: "til passe jeg ej på"? And around 3:18 I'm not sure but I think I heard "har du ej være min". Even if I am right, I am not trying to mock anyone, I'm just trying to understand, or if I'm wrong, can anyone tell me?
Its because you learn normal Danish, the Danish people normally speak. The woman in the song sings "rigs-dansk" (i don't know what its called in English). Its ancient Danish, like they talked in the 18th century (i suppose the song is old too haha (:) or like the queen talks... You can say it both ways, but the most common is the way you say it. Hope it was helpful! :))
Lærke Virkelyst Yes it was, thank you for your help.
***** Your welcome. :)
Jeg elsker Dansk!
Det gør jeg også! Det er så smukt! 😜 btw my danish is bad 😂
@@Isabella-ie9ms Jeg kan tale dansk også! Men, mit dansk er dårlig ;-;
beautiful!
Jeg elsker det!
Savage Beast soothed. Danke.
this is awesome, l'm a fan of yours
My cousin lives in denmark so I am learning danish so I can talk to her
Very fine song :)
Hej, jeg forsøger laere at dansk. I really don't know that many words or master how verbs function at all. I'm looking for someone to chat/converse/help/tutor and I could help back in french, English, creole and Hindi!
Please note that this isn't modern danish so if you talk like this out in the street people will look at you wierd (husk at dette er gammel dansk så hvis du taler sådan ude på gaden vil folk se på dig mærkeligt) Good luck learning (held og lykke med at lære det)
If you by any chance are still looking, I'd be up for helping you. I'm teaching my boyfriend a little anyway (He's English). I'm a native Dane :)
Wish i could sing this but spoken danish is different from written
This could also help with learning the language
Smukt :)
Is there any way you can email this to me? This was absolutely amazing! I want this for my daughters bedtime. :)
I like this song too, you could record the system audio, then burn it to a CD :)
Erika Its Even so beutifull
I went to Denmark and tried to learn some Danish, I discovered it's a language of vowels, with every word essentially consisting of different combinations of "AAeeua aoueei eeauo" with a couple other silent letters.
It's possible to read but impossible to understand anything spoken :/
Incorrect.
If it was impossible to understand, people wouldn't be speaking it. It is difficult to learn, yes, but there are a lot of things like that in life. Overcome these challenges through dedication and hard work, instead of proclaiming them impossible.
@@Malentor Chill bro
Du spiller meget godt.
hi!guys .i am from morocco i find the dsnish language looks like an other (norwegian) and french or german .and i find some words looks like arabic darija in sometime !
If you look at the history Denmark and Norway were always one country until fairly recently. Most Norwegians write and read in bøkmal which is very close.
I speak a little danish but yet aging i am danish
do you know where i can download it? i've searched everywhere but couldn't find it :/
There's always H.C.Andersen behind any piece of danish artistic text
Hans Christian Andersen. He was a distant family member to my great grandmother :)
Haylee Thorn Well... That totally explains an intrinsic beauty of ur brilliant comment... :)
Hollandia777 why so bitchy, or as the Danish say, hvorfor så bitchy

Muget smuk. Mange tak.
Not "I will not look after", but "I'm not suitable".
