My 2024 Encore GX (no differences for the 2025 model) ended up back in the shop the day I bought it for bad tires. With welding defects in the body, GM sent an engineering crew to make repairs after I found the interior noise to be more than plastics in the summer heat. It took them 5 weeks and they ended up repairing things I didn't know were bad. They missed the B pillar rattle (weak welds) which was my complaint (provided a log of test conditions and video). They (GM and the dealer) went silent and now I have a car with bad wheels (better but they didn't fix it properly) AND a unibody construction that has a line of bad or incomplete welds. Have you ever lost your car for 5 weeks? It is a long time to walk and use public transit. Every time I get in the car, I realize that I've been ripped off and nobody at GM seems to care. Worst new car experience I could imagine. I can assume that the money for the extended warranty was wasted as the new car warranty is proving useless.
This model is actually a very cheap car given stiffer shock absorbers, larger wheels and a nicer interior. It is, however, a low quality vehicle. Lipstick on a pig, you could say. I will note that since the 5 week visit to the dealer for the engineering crew, the lane keeping feature is remarkably better. The new car basically would bound between the lane lines. After getting it back, since they would have had to recalibrate it, it follows the lane. Clearly, this was not working correctly from the factory. I now wonder about the emergency stopping and pedestrian braking. Obviously, I won't be testing those items.
