I just have to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported the videos I make, this channel and our community. I could not do this without you guys!
The quality, effort and heartblood that went into this video is insane. Let's be fair, you're probably only going to reach a small audience with this documentary, unless the algorithm does some magic... but this only shows your dedication and love for this old gem. You definitely have talent in video production !
As an artist, I can't stress how inspirational documentaries like these are. Often times as consumers, all we think about is the product itself; the real heart and soul, what drove the devs, what did they choose to leave behind, is something we seldom give much thought. Watching documentaries like these reminds me that if you really care for your creative endeavor, you will create something that'll move the imagination of thousands of people. Thanks for making this.
I first played it as a kid, with little knowledge of english at the time, since I grew up in Czech republic. However it must have left an impression, cause years later, it clawed itself back from my distant memory and I just had to find it in my brother's old CDs. While I did find it, it was scratched and unplayable. Thus I specifically figured out emulation for the opportunity to play this title again, only to realize what gem it truly was. Thank you for making this very informative video about the history of this sadly obscure little game. :)
Beautiful documentary about our game that has marked all our childhoods. I dare not imagine how much time you all had to dedicate to making this documentary. Beautiful adb95's ending. Of course we will have fun with the upcoming League.
I am so very happy that I was thinking about Hogs of War and the joy it brought me today otherwise I would have never stumbled across your channel and this amazing documentary. I honestly miss those days and seeing the passion and dedication that went into making such an iconic game is inspiring to see. I now make wildlife documentaries for a living, something my younger self could never have imagined whilst playing Hogs of War, and I can honestly say you have made a wonderful documentary about a video game that I hold close to my heart.
I feel the same way with Hogs of War. as a young Kid i played the German Version "Frontschweine" hours on end. I just recently digged out my ps2 and started up my game again. it is even the "infamous" version where you cant get all the promotional points and therefore having all of your pigs highest rank in the last mission. this game has a special place in my heart and i am happy that there are still people (even small in numbers) that are sharing this love for those little piggies. Even tho i can not really relate with the personalities of the pigs from english version that much cause they are quite different in the german version i still like to quote a bunch of the one - liners from that game. I am not sure if anyone will read this comment under a year old video but if you or anyone else does i wish you a very swill day. Regards, Hans.
What an amazing job done by Pin, so much behind the scenes information and i learned a ton of new stuff as well. Thanks a lot for producing this and letting me be part of it
Good job, mate. Im fan of this game for years. Remember when my dad first time bring this born-to-grill cd. Since then it is one of my all time favorite game. 33 yo for now and i still playing it from time to time. From Russia with love, btw✌️
I love this game so much, such an insanely ambitious game, from the massive weapon list, ridiculous amount of maps, fully fledged vehicles, wild physics.. it’s nuts how much content is packed in this game and how advanced everything about it was. Blows so much of the ps1 catalog out of the water, will forever be one of my favourites.
And to think the original plans were even more ambitious, like if it had been made later on the ps2 we'd see even more, like being able to create buildings
I'm a huge fan of turn based games like Worms Armageddon and Hogs of War. I started trying to play Hogs of War on Steam literally yesterday and have been trying to find a way to get it working on Windows 10, it just won't launch! Anyway, I somehow came across this video and it's amazing! Had no idea there was such a dedicated and passionate community about a childhood favourite game! I could watch Rik Mayall do voiceover work over and over again! Great documentary mate, the only bit of criticism i'd give is maybe spend a little more time balancing the volumes between different clips, otherwise fantastic editing! Loved this!
The views of this video maybe not reflect the attention it shoud have, but... One can tell you put A LOT of effort and HEART into it. Great work Pin, I enjoyed it fully :)
I received my rank up shirt recently thanks so much man my mother played this game in front of me before I started school very young and I haven't stopped playing it sense shout out pinstripe
Great video ! My brother and I played this game a lot and had so much. I remember when we had to replay the solo campaign to get through the last stages because we realized we didn't have enough stars to upgrade our hogs ! We were like "noooo it took us so much time" but we had such a good time managing to get all the stars from all levels even if it was not that easy (which is a good thing). The voices in French were amazing and were from a very famous TV show featuring politics and celebrities as puppets. Our favorites hogs are the Germans 🇩🇪 and the Japanese 🇯🇵.
You could have all kinds of comedians in the new version. Paul Chaudary...Tony Robinson...Jessica Knappet...Morgana Robinson...Tracey Ullman...James Acaster...
Whoa nelly! I've been weirdly fascinated by this game since I played it on an American PS1 demo disc back around its release. The game has rattled around in my brain for decades until I finally settled down to properly play this back in 2020. I also based a personal project on the gameplay from this and even went out hunting for more games like it since I was surprised this style of turn-based combat with real-time movement wasn't more popular (the closest I can find is Worms [of course] and Valkyria Chronicles). I've been following your channel for a while and it's amazing to see such a deep dive into the game from so many angles. Fantastic work!
Me and my best friend and room mate spent hundreds of hours battling each other,if it was a rainy day or we didn't have much to do it was Hogs, or Worms, I probably have the most time spent in this game or Worms games. We played Worms armageddon alot as well.
Really like Hogs of War and played it a lot, but before that I did play Worms on my Amiga 1200 and Worms Armageddon on P.C.; which is a game I hold with extremely high regard. Armageddon is up as one of my favorite competitive strategy games ever made Hog of War was to me a Worms clone done right, but it was also a 3D Worms, which Team 17 could never pull off with the same level of quality. The 2D Worm games are fab. As noted I hold them in high regard. But Hogs of War was *the* Worms 3D game, and had enough of its own identity to be a great clone. Clone to some may also be a harsh term but keep in mind I see it to what Streets of Rage is to Double Dragon. I look forward to the remake of HoG in fact I only came across this video in hopes Reheated had some form of update!
One improvement would have been maybe to have got voice actors with the words actors voice over bits where you didn't have audio of the person, just words.
Bruh people made they own resident evil remake. Why cant people just make another campaign while keeping the graphics just like the original, but adding new weapons and element amd such
I just have to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported the videos I make, this channel and our community. I could not do this without you guys!
Really appreciate you doing this Pinstripe!
nostalgia overdose 🤣 cant believe thers barely any videos about this game its brilliant! for piggystroika lol 🫡

Yeah but it's worth it just for the community and to get other hog community players more aware 🐷

And I was thinking Pin wouldn't appreciate my contribution 🙃
Thank you for this.
Would love to hear Johnny Vegas as a voice in the reheated version
You could have all kinds of comedians in the new version. Paul Chaudary...Tony Robinson...Jessica Knappet...Morgana Robinson...Tracey Ullman...James Acaster...
the german voicelines are legendary for me. cant wait for the remaster

Can't believe how good this is !! Nice to put faces to the names too !!
this is a amazinng video and it definitely deserves more views.
Woah, this is outstanding!
I loved this game as a kid and it felt like not enough people knew about this game as it was outshone by similar games like Worms.
Hogs of War was my favorite game as a child, i still play from time to time, thanks for making this awesome content my friend 😍👏
Thank you very much for all the work you put in this video!

This game had an aesthetic of an Aardman animation mixed with the old Thomas the Tank engine series. A truly unique game.
this game was my childhood, i bought it in the year 2000, still have it c:
I even have the demo 1 disk rofl
Thank you Rik Mayall.
what opening music is that because it sounds amazing.
Nah bruv, you from brum aswell. Hello there from Sheldon.
Been playing hogs of war since release.
This is perfect !

Rik Mayall made this game, what a talented guy.

Aww man, there was gonna be a PS2 sequel?
One improvement would have been maybe to have got voice actors with the words actors voice over bits where you didn't have audio of the person, just words.
herp derp... is here. yeah
i remember getting bullied by my brother for having the same name as one of the Tommy's Trotters pigs >.<
Good memories and very replayable game imo
Cool Beans

It has to be HoW 2 anyway

Thats what the reheated remaster is looking to do :)
2 asleep 2 watch now
The game inspired me to be a pig.
Love this game and the documentary is fab but the fake AI voice is very off putting
That's not AI it's a text to speech
Awesome video 💪
