- Pat Ganahl visits Mox Miller to examine his perfectly perserved 1958 Chevy Impala show custom. Mr. Miller is the original owner and the amazing custom work was completed in the early 1960s.
Thanks for this video .58 Impala was one of the best designs ever.
My dream car is the 1958 Impala.I love the styling of it to the point of heartache of wanting.
I used to work for Larry Watson, when I first saw it I thought he did it.
Very NICE work, that is really GREAT design work ! Thanks
Panel paint job( sometimes called scallups) and "kidney" Hallabrand the best of the late 50's and early 60's,,,loved them then and still do...Thanks
Historic Lowrider samples from the early 60's on the planet, what a Masterpiece
amazing, just blown away, panel paint is perfect and that shop is insaaaaane too! thats the dream!
In the past 10 years I've come to see what beautiful cars these are ! Love to have one, but have to many toys now ! 👍😁✌
Wow, thanks for the video. I had a 58 Delray in High School.
Fifty-two years ago my parents had a solid black ‘58 BelAir, 348-4barrel, chromed edition. I loved this car! It was the first car I ever drove and it broke my heart when my Dad sold it to a friend for $100! It developed a dime-sized hole in the tailpipe and the bigger it got the better the exhaust sounded…organic glass packs? 😂. Great video and thanks for the memories! ~Jim~
2 absolutely drop dead gorgeous looking vehicles..
1st generation lowrider here!!!!!
MAD PROPS & THIS IS TRULY A PIECE OF AMERICAN AUTOMOTIVE HISTORY ; )
That is a piece of art .the 58 Impala is art
Old school......gotta love it!!
It cracks me up all these people that say he should drive the car...he bought it, he built it, he turned it into something that makes him ( and alot of people) happy just the way it is...it's modern art...it's not sitting in a field getting worse by the day..it's a perfectly preserved time capsule...if you don't like it build your own
Old school customs gotta love it
time capsules. best clip on you tube
I saw that panel painted 58 in a car magazine when I was 6 or 7 and it burned a hole in my brain.Just a small pic of it sitting at an indoor car show. Might even been in black + white, cant remember. Not sure if it was R+C or HR I thought it was some highly modified custom and I am amazed when I was older it was all in the paint scheme. #1 58 of all time.Myself, I would have to run this on the street though. Mox Miller you're a King in my book. 58 truck is Bitchin' as well..Love to see the collection in person.
Awesome story! Really enjoyed watching it.
Absolutely beautiful car! I've always loved the '58's, very cool body design. Thanks for posting. John
Everyone else likes the tri-five Chevys and they're nice. I wasn't born until 68 and my normal projects are "square body" (GM called them Rounded Line) trucks. However, I fell in love with the 58 passenger cars watching American Gaffetti and if I could find one to restore for a reasonable price I'd haul it home today! Beautiful car in this video and the truck is awesome too...I'd be proud to be the caretaker of either one!
for all that say what a waste letting it sit in garage, this is probably the best way to preserve it. At 4:50 he says the previous paint hair crack with the sun. why would he make same mistake twice.
Awesome ! There ready to go back on the show tour .
The first year of the ever classic Impala ' 58 ! Beautiful !
wow! absolutely mint! thanks for sharing!
Thanks, All, great overview of Machinery…& some History….admittedly, that 58 BELAIR is nice Deaign; esp after the “:Flashy”:1957 BELAIR…….
The man with the "W" parts.
I had a 348 with the 3x2s, ran pretty well all right.
What a great video! thanks for posting!!
This is a awesome video thanks for sharing beautiful collection
Thankyou guys for creating an absolute perfection. Outstanding, incredible and a testament to your fantastic workmanship that they both still are in A1 Concourse condition. Again, thankyou for showing us and thankyou for creating a hobby that all good people love. You guys are the best.
Oh I love 58 chevys. But this is absolutely the ultimate . I love paint job
If they kept it garaged in southern California, it doesn't matter how long they had it there. They're both fantastic examples of of 1960s show vehicles. Everyone who sees this car will give you much respect because you've preserved this piece of automotive history.
All we can say about all that chrome is, WOW, Shiny!
Your dad's truck is awesome as well! Your gold 58 Impala is nice.
Since you're not into selling anything, perhaps you should see about finding, restoring, and preserving one of each of the 1958 Chevrolet cars and trucks ?
We're hoping . If you decide to take our suggestions, we'll be happy to send you whatever research we've already done to show you which models are needed to complete your collection.
My favorite part "I don't sell nothin"
+ perish hilton. ..... that's a true car nut there, he might need a part off of another motor, so keep the lot, right...? .....how crazy is that.......to quote Scottie D.
Right, you probably can't speak English either. Duh, I don't mean Nuthin by it.
He can’t live forever
Dbl negative... which means he sells things.
Smart guy I sold everything 86 mustang,87 Buick gran national, 1968 Impala 72 Cadillac 76 RX4, man I wish I would of kept any of those cars now I'm saving to get a good deal on anything from back then newer cars] are cool but not like this
I had the whole vid of this(until stolen) , a true classic piece of hot rod history. pat would have made a mint if you tube was around 23 years ago .
Pat.... great documentary. Do more please. Thanks, from Sierra Madre
Love the dibble head lights lots of crom
Start it up and drive it man! Life is short, go for it...
IMO, he ruined her by NOT keeping her stock! Typical Left Coast mentality, plus it sounds like he has NOT done much of the work himself?
Talk about time capsules!! Beautiful!!👍
Magnifico! Too bad there aren't more cars duplicating this paint- wheel- tire style.
Like the58 better than others 😊😊❤❤❤❤
Breath taking
Wow, that's unbelievable!
This House Phone should be all the Proof anyone need when looking at this Car..😅
My aunt had a garage kept '60 that she drove up until the early 90s when she bought a used '87 Caprice and sold the '60 about 5 years later to a guy for $400.
Carros maravilhosos! Sou do Brasil e admiro essas maravilhas antigas!
Amazing car and the paint rocks!!! Just might paint my 63 SS the same but I will drive mine
Simply wow!
That's art work
Best part: "With my dad".
Music: Tioga by the frogmen
Spent 20 years looking for it. God bless Shazam
In 58 my brother bought a brand new black 58 Impala !
I Love This Car!
Somehow, the 58 Chevy has become my favorite 50s Chevrolet.
It actually is the least "crazy" 58 GM automobile IMO. And, it is quite nice! (not that I would not enjoy a 58 El Dorado).
Beautiful bowties!👍🇺🇸🏡🇺🇸
Classical beast!!
"Bondo Bob" Cotant had a cherry 58 Impala conv, loved those 58's
beautiful car nice video
Beautifull !
Precious car. Precious story!
Amazing, simply amazing. These cars are "head turners".
Oscar Fernandez San Antonio, TX.
Outstanding
That Impala is NUTS!
Oh I'd love to have one his 409's. Just one pal?? Who needs 3 ??
58 impala is my dream car
Father and son. Way cool.
BEAUTIFUL ,,
History all day
.I still got my 74 to. 24 year
HEHE take them to a carshow now 50+ years later , and they are still gonna get the same attention.. let these old ladies back in the spotlight :) they still got it
All the 1958 GM cars were real bombs; normally, most car makers would keep a basic design for three years or so with moderate changes before a massive re-design; the 1955-57 GM cars, particularly the Chevrolet are a great example of this.
But the radical redesign of the 58s only lasted a year; gee, I wonder why.
Because GM was caught off guard by the Chrysler corp sleeker forward look cars . in personaly love the 58 chevy and wish the body style had lasted longer than it did.
Great stuff.
Beautiful
Danny Koker (Count's Customs) still uses similar paint schemes today.
I think its awesome he doesn't drive it.. its to risky to drive a car like that.. just fun to own it and look at it..
Agreed! Driving it will cause it rust and wear.. better to preserve it and save it
Agreed, it's a beautiful jewel, which normally fine jewelry, clothing and cars won't last under everyday use.
Oh and I forgot to mention how young Pat looks in this video.
Absolutely 💯 gorgeous 😍 ❤️
I drive 70s Mopar but I'm a Chevy guy you can guess I love mopowr
Anyone know what song is played in the background at about 3:00?
The song is Tioga by The Frogmen, for anyone who cares. Thanks Shazam... two years later.
@@flippintrippin363 Thanks...now 3 years later ; )
You better sell it now, somebodys gonna sell it later
awesome car ! and its great that he doesn't drive it or it would be ruined especially being lacquer paint it would check real bad and run a masterpiece... I totally get it....
There are enough fine examples of factory stock cars out there ;) . Usually the custom builders/hot rodders/lowriders take an old rusted out car and restore it the way they like. Its better than leaving it slowly dying in barn or woods.
If all the cars would look the same as they came out from factory, the world would be boring place.
I agree that classy original car is nice and cool, but there are plenty of them, they are not extinct.
What year was this video filmed? Mr Pat doesn’t look old enough to have seen these cars in the early ‘60’s.
Curious about the 348 in the first iteration.
YES! shes alive!
The Blue 58 is one of the 1st
Did this Mox Miller also have a 1968 Camaro funnycar that was black with rainbow colored lace and flames? His name has come up recently in some discussion boards... This is one bad 58!!! Thanks for posting, same goes for the truck!!!
i agree but disagree, i like a good old classic paint job but once in a while you gotta go all out ... that right there is art :D
Don’t ever split the two vehicles up
Like glitter on a rose.
Now the question is: Will it shred?!
What year was this filmed? Where are these cars now?
+Seth Thomas I* had this vid at least 20 years ago , so at a guess i would say Pat Filmed this around 1988.
The beginning showed 1995...
I don't sell nuttn....... gold.
58 great n all by it self.
Ya, great car....won't even start. Maybe Susan can jump start it....call her.
Did they really have that junk Jack on that chrome rear end
I wonder where they're at today
Wonder were this car is now?
+Barbecue Bacon Boii It was at the 62nd Grand National Roadster show in 2011, still owned by Mox Miller. www.hotrod.com/events/coverage/1107rc-62nd-annual-grand-national-roadster-show/
with 3 by 2,is 275 hp?
I've had cars that had to be pushed to get them out of the garage too.....
Anyone that has money to spare , won’t sell anything 😊
Beautiful ! Don't sell it.
Anyone knows who is playing guitar at 8.00? Sounds like a Freddie King clone.
