Today, 18 July - 2021, 2nd anniversary of the horrifying KyoAni fire, may the people who lost their lives rest at peace and may their families and loved ones find peace as well.
I'm so glad that KyoAni is getting back on it's feet. While it will never be the same, I'm glad they are continuing to move forward and do their best with the situation regardless.

You can just tell how much violet wanted to say i love you and how much he meant to her. All she could say was 'I' and 'major', the first words she uttered as a child. Such raw emotions. Someone who was raised as a tool, can cry so genuinely. The major who never cries in front of anyone else, broke down infront of the one he loves. (Spoilers as i go deep into their philosophy) He felt guilty, he felt undeserving of even touching her, consoling her after what he felt he forced her to go through. He couldn't protect her, he caused her to lose her arms, he couldn't give her a happy childhood she deserves but in the end, he still loves her. He couldn't stand being separated from her for even a second longer, not being with her as she goes through life. He was afraid of what might happen to her and can't stand the thought of her suffering on his behalf. All he needed was an answer, he needs to know how she feels no matter love or not and then he could die happily knowing she has matured. Thankfully, it was a happy reunion. She was saved by him. Brought out of abuse, given a purpose and someone to protect. At first, he thought it was for protection but eventually both reliased it was out of love. She loved him ever since they first hugged, he was the first light to her ever perpetual darkness. She would do anything to protect him. He is her first and only true romantic love she ever develops. No matter who else tried to charm her, she wouldn't allow it because the one she loves was always around her neck. Spoilers. They eventually vow to be together forever and never leave each other side. They affirmed that they are the only one for one another and sealed the deal with a kiss. Both are disable. One lost both arms, one lost an arm and an eye. But if you asked them, they said it was all worth it as their impact on one another was priceless. They would do it again in a heartbeat. Since childhood, he has a fear of loneliness. But now he has reunited with the one he loves and the same goes for her. If there is another season, it would dive into their respective insecurities as they have to spend time apart due to their respective jobs. Finally vented. 😞 Thank you for such a well crafted story. My heart is still recovering from reading the novel but remember, the author in the epilogue says, no matter what you are going through, violet will be waiting for you. No matter the place, time or situation. She is truly a masterpiece and extremely precious.

Of course do support the official release when it comes out, they do deserve it afterall. Anyways just a snippet and summary of the parts of the VA novel i immensely enjoyed. Everyone should definitely read violet evergarden ever after, volume 4 and 5 aka the ending. Future spoilers be warned and yes violet is of age. In short, major and violet exchanged a series of letters. They want to spend more time together but can't because of their respective jobs. Yes they both love each other now. Violet starts to become insecure and her only source of comfort was his letters during the abysmal time. She had a nightmare where she was left alone and defenceless. She is afraid for him, afraid that she isn't good enough, her robotic hands might scare others, his family might never accept her but in the end she still loves him. She finally says its because she was scared to get it taken away or rejected. Everyone in her life could disappear, but not him. She couldn't lose him ever again. If he did, she would had wanted to join him but couldn't because he told her to live. Really love her last letter to him before the volume ends, most heartwarming, gutwreching read though ever. She professed everything to him. How she loved him before he even said it himself. How he is the only thing she ever thinks about when she is lonely. How he is her pillar of strength. How she will continue living just for him not as a tool but as another person. She doesn't want him to hate her and asked for permission to be with him forever and have a family with him. She compared it to how in the battlefield she never felt fear or pain but once she became human, a second apart from him causes immense pain and continously asking him what is wrong with her. All of the scars incurred, lost limbs, physical pain is nothing compared to the emotional pain she was feeling at that moment. She knew it was her own feelings that was hurting her and she confessed everything. There was no way i brought justice to what i just typed, the real one is just that good and i cut out many parts and didn't even mentioned the major's part. And Yesss i reiterate once again, they finally kissed at the end!!! They even said those magic words and reiterated that they can only be for one another and even promised to have a family together. Thank for such a good read and bringing a roller coaster of emotions. Really love the character development and progression. Someone devoid of emotions becomes the realest person with actual authentic feelings i ever seen. Initially, She can't voice her real feelings but her writing is the best i ever read. She can be formal, yet she can also be genuine. Someone who was once straightforward and clueless became a famous amanuensis. Just look at her from the first letter she wrote and the current her is the biggest juxtaposition i ever seen. Can't believe i read it all in the span of a few days, and not get bored, truly is a special novel. In the last novel, they said they love each other the most and can lose everything else except for one another. For new fans the watch order there isn't much difference if you want to hop into the books. 1st Watch Violet Evergarden the anime ep 1-13, then the first movie and then the 2020 movie. Grab some tissues as well. For the light novel the latest movie is taking the notes of Volume 2 Chapter 13. Violet Evergarden has 4 volumes. Volume 1 Chapter 1-6 Volume 2 Chapter 7-13 Volume 3 Gaiden 1-6 Volume 4 Violet evergarden ever after 1-5 Volume 1, the anime didn't cover 2 chapter due to its limited runtime of 13 episode. Volume 2, the anime changed the outcome. The major and violet are suppose to meet earlier but it was delayed in the movie. So the second anime movie is completely anime canon only. But the dialogues remains exactly the same. Chapter 13 they vow to love one another. Gaiden is mostly about backstories of characters and their past. Violet becomes scared to lose the major again as they can't meet each other as they return to their jobs. Violet is still writing, Major returns to the military so as to get promoted so he can veto any orders that forces Violet in any danger. But to get promoted he has to sacrifice alot of time and do alot of things. Volume 4 chapter 4 and 5 is a masterpiece. They wrote letters to one another, saying they are each other pillar of strength. Violet feels like she was an embarrassment to him, the major felt guilty that she feels so, and left to meet her to clear it up. She says and writes i love you to him for the first time. Saying that she loved him even before he said it.

Kyoani taught me that no letter that could be sent deserves to go undelivered. They taught me that life is about having fun, and not to take any small moment for granted. They've shown me the importance of family, despite the differences you share. They've shown me the shape of voice, and the impact yours can have on another's life. They've created a great big Dango family, one that will always be together. I hope the lives lost can rest easier knowing that their works have helped and saved millions around the world. May those creative souls live on through the passions they brought to life. I love Kyoani.
The ending hit really hard, violet evergaden is the only anime that made me cry !! This peice has a lot of emotions in it , thanks a lot for always making us remember those warm moments !!
Not gonna lie, I cried at least in two different scenes while watching the Violet Evergarden movie in the cinema. I am weak to emotional stories after all, haha

Yet another beautiful Violet Evergarden arrangement. This man keeps blessing us with the best soundtracks. Listening to this piece invokes a feeling of relaxing in a field on a peaceful spring day. The silky tone of the Steinway blended with the smooth scale runs and bell tones ringing out in the mid-high register reinforce this vibe. Yet, underneath the triumphant celebratory color of the piece, there is an undertone of longing. I have yet to watch the movie, but I can already feel how emotional the story is through the music. My personal favorite moments: -1:03 the soft intro crescendoing into the first chorus -1:39 subtle yet smooth key change -1:42 the easing into of the rolling arpeggios to start off the second verse, and the beautiful melody line -2:38 the power of the second chorus, with the resonant mid-register bell tones at 2:44 -3:00 surprising change of groove to start off the bridge -3:21 the lovely deep BASS resonance that serves as the foundation of the three hand melody section -4:03 beautiful crossing harmonies -4:23 absolutely lovely sparkling high register intro into the final chorus -5:33 crescendo from the supposed soft outro into a majestic ending Beautiful arrangement as always :) I noticed this week's upload did not have a premiere - is this a one-time change, or are you returning to the classic upload style again?
My personal favorite part is also 4:23 with the heaven-like sound. Perhaps the "softest" chorus variation I have ever created, haha. I hope the movie air soon in your country so you can watch it! Definitely worth watching

My current piano setup is partially inspired by the lighting system of a live music performance. It can contribute a lot to the atmosphere of the music if done well.

This sent me right back to when I was watching the credits roll in the theater, silently thanking the people involved for animating Violet’s journey to its conclusion. I especially loved the section at 1:42, the fluid left hand run and the controlled right hand melodies just nailed the instrumental. Thanks for this performance and keep up the great work!

Today, 2 years ago, on July 18th 2019, Is when the arsonist attack, on Kyoto Animations happened, To honor the 36 live lost that day: *Salutes*. I'm currently watching Violet Evergarden for the first time right now... (I had it planned). The Kyoani fire was 2 years ago today, and it was not too long ago that I learned that, it was just a coincidence that I was watching Violet evergarden.
And with the Netflix and Bluray version of the movie coming next month, many will finally be able to watch the final instalment of this beautiful series. Thank you Animenz
Like Violet Evergarden, this arrangement is a masterpiece! You have no idea how much I cried while watching this movie. I didn't expect it will make me cry more than Clannad and A Place Further Than the Universe.

Man Violet Evergarden hits like a truck out of nowhere. Sidenote i just finished Vivy and it has so many great soundtrack, like a blend of Guilty Crown in term of tragic and Violet in terms of self discovery. I think it would suit your taste very much so. Fun fact: there was a three hand technique version for the intro part and first verse but I decided against it because simplicity can also shine on its own if used for the right song. Simple is really the best sometimes!

She doesn't want him to hate her and asked for permission to be with him forever and have a family with him.
She compared it to how in the battlefield she never felt fear or pain but once she became human, a second apart from him causes immense pain and continously asking him what is wrong with her. All of the scars incurred, lost limbs, physical pain is nothing compared to the emotional pain she was feeling at that moment. She knew it was her own feelings that was hurting her and she confessed everything.
There was no way i brought justice to what i just typed, the real one is just that good and i cut out many parts and didn't even mentioned the major's part.
And Yesss i reiterate once again, they finally kissed at the end!!! They even said those magic words and reiterated that they can only be for one another and even promised to have a family together. Thank for such a good read and bringing a roller coaster of emotions.
Really love the character development and progression. Someone devoid of emotions becomes the realest person with actual authentic feelings i ever seen. Initially, She can't voice her real feelings but her writing is the best i ever read. She can be formal, yet she can also be genuine. Someone who was once straightforward and clueless became a famous amanuensis.
Just look at her from the first letter she wrote and the current her is the biggest juxtaposition i ever seen. Can't believe i read it all in the span of a few days, and not get bored, truly is a special novel.
In the last novel, they said they love each other the most and can lose everything else except for one another.
For new fans the watch order there isn't much difference if you want to hop into the books. 1st Watch Violet Evergarden the anime ep 1-13, then the first movie and then the 2020 movie. Grab some tissues as well.
For the light novel the latest movie is taking the notes of Volume 2 Chapter 13. Violet Evergarden has 4 volumes.
Volume 1 Chapter 1-6
Volume 2 Chapter 7-13
Volume 3 Gaiden 1-6
Volume 4 Violet evergarden ever after 1-5
Volume 1, the anime didn't cover 2 chapter due to its limited runtime of 13 episode.
Volume 2, the anime changed the outcome. The major and violet are suppose to meet earlier but it was delayed in the movie. So the second anime movie is completely anime canon only. But the dialogues remains exactly the same. Chapter 13 they vow to love one another.
Gaiden is mostly about backstories of characters and their past. Violet becomes scared to lose the major again as they can't meet each other as they return to their jobs. Violet is still writing, Major returns to the military so as to get promoted so he can veto any orders that forces Violet in any danger. But to get promoted he has to sacrifice alot of time and do alot of things.
Volume 4 chapter 4 and 5 is a masterpiece. They wrote letters to one another, saying they are each other pillar of strength. Violet feels like she was an embarrassment to him, the major felt guilty that she feels so, and left to meet her to clear it up. She says and writes i love you to him for the first time. Saying that she loved him even before he said it.

Yet another beautiful Violet Evergarden arrangement. This man keeps blessing us with the best soundtracks.
Listening to this piece invokes a feeling of relaxing in a field on a peaceful spring day. The silky tone of the Steinway blended with the smooth scale runs and bell tones ringing out in the mid-high register reinforce this vibe. Yet, underneath the triumphant celebratory color of the piece, there is an undertone of longing. I have yet to watch the movie, but I can already feel how emotional the story is through the music.
My personal favorite moments:
-1:03 the soft intro crescendoing into the first chorus
-1:39 subtle yet smooth key change
-1:42 the easing into of the rolling arpeggios to start off the second verse, and the beautiful melody line
-2:38 the power of the second chorus, with the resonant mid-register bell tones at 2:44
-3:00 surprising change of groove to start off the bridge
-3:21 the lovely deep BASS resonance that serves as the foundation of the three hand melody section
-4:03 beautiful crossing harmonies
-4:23 absolutely lovely sparkling high register intro into the final chorus
-5:33 crescendo from the supposed soft outro into a majestic ending

My personal favorite part is also 4:23 with the heaven-like sound. Perhaps the "softest" chorus variation I have ever created, haha.

I'm currently watching Violet Evergarden for the first time right now... (I had it planned). The Kyoani fire was 2 years ago today, and it was not too long ago that I learned that, it was just a coincidence that I was watching Violet evergarden.
And with the Netflix and Bluray version of the movie coming next month, many will finally be able to watch the final instalment of this beautiful series. Thank you Animenz

Like Violet Evergarden, this arrangement is a masterpiece! You have no idea how much I cried while watching this movie. I didn't expect it will make me cry more than Clannad and A Place Further Than the Universe.
I commented the same 1 minute ago! I feel you! Everyone shares the same feelings for this movie! I cried for 4 days straight and had to think about my life. Violet Evergarden is at least on the same level as Clannad! Kyoto Animation truly knows how to touch our soul!

You can notice it by each letter she writes. The last letter in the movie struck me into tears. It's the essence of what "I love you" really means.
I like how the ball is also helping tell the story haha. The lights match the mood of the current section in the piece. A nice touch of detail!

Fun fact: there was a three hand technique version for the intro part and first verse but I decided against it because simplicity can also shine on its own if used for the right song. Simple is really the best sometimes!

5:45 is basically the spiritual successor of the ending part of Sincerey - it is playing the same melody (the Violet Evergarden main theme) but this time, with more confidence and optimism!
